I have shopped at Victorian Village for many years but will not be returning after my latest experience. I had purchased a gift for a friend at the store and she needed to return it as it was defective. When she went to exchange the merchandise for another that worked, they would not do so despite the fact that the merchandise was bearing their logo on the gift box. I had thrown out the receipt after cleaning out my wallet. When I spoke with the manager, he was extremely unfriendly, suggested that it was possible that we ""stole"" the merchandise and he had no way of knowing that it came from their store. (Despite the fact that the gift box was bearing their logo and had been wrapped at their store!). I offered to present my bank transaction as proof that the merchandise was purchased there and he told me he couldn't guarantee that he would take it back. When I told him it was unlikely that I'd be shopping at his establishment again, he told me he really had no reason to help me out now. It is very evident that good customer service is not a priority at Victorian Village.
