Vickery's at Glenwood Park is a new find for my wife and myself, tucked away in a nice little neighborhood just outside of the East Atlanta Village that is called Glenwood Park.
Upon our first arrival, i noted the ample outdoor seating that I am sure is still great during the sunny day time hours, but we were in for dinner so we opted to sit in the dining room. We were greeted immediately by a very accommodating server who sat my wife, myself, and the baby at a very nice circular booth. The ambiance of the restaurant was top notch.
We started out with the calamari, which was excellent. It had a nice sweet chili glaze that was a change from the normal marinara sauce that I usually see on calamari. After that my wife ordered the San Marcos Fish Tacos, which were catfish rolled with pico de gallo, sour cream, salsa verde, and cabbage in a soft flour tortilla with black beans on the side. I ordered their fried chicken which came with collards, a biscuit, and what was very possibly the best macaroni and cheese i have ever had. Both entrees were delicious and were extremely large considering their more than reasonable price point. Both the wife and myself went home with extra snacks for later.
Another cool point - all of their to-go boxes were %100 biodegradable, which is something i have never before seen in a restaurant. They had a great bar on the other side as well, with a jute-box and a really fun crowd. The bar stays open until 2:30 every night.
All in all, this was a fantastic meal, at a reasonable price, in a nice place, and the service was very friendly. I am going to ask for our server Bryan again when we return. We had a really nice experience.
Pros: Great food and portion size at a reasonable price
