I have had to use this facility on several occasions and have really had difficulties in dealing with them. on one occasion, I was in a state of panic and took my dog due to him ingesting something and causing him to pass large amounts of blood. when I arrived, I realized that I had left my wallet at home and had no money. They refused to let me leave the dog and get the wallet. They required a large amount of money up front. Unless my dog is dying, I won't go back. One vet, a lady was super nice, the rest of the staff acted like they didn't like their job and were not the friendliest or most compassionate... more

Love your dog and stay with them 10/25/2011

I had a less than 2 pd chihuahua who contracted parvo, she wasn't old enough to have all of her shots. Took her to the ER Vet, first night we had an awesome vet Dr. Larremore, wonderful, very caring lady, had her several more nights as the dog was hopsitalized for 6 days. Would pick her up early am and take her to regular vet, stayed there all day, picked up to remain at ER vet all night. By Wednesday she had shown great improvement, regular vet said she could probably stay home the next day because she was so much better. I called the ER Vet about every 2 hours first time the young lady on the phone stated she would go check on her, put me on hold, came back and said she was doing well, no vomiting diarrhea and was sleeping with her little doll, again 2 hours later I called was told immediately she was doing well, again 2 hours later the very same thing. At 4:55am got a call from Dr. Chappell who stated he had bad news my dog had passed away, I was first broken hearted and second more

unlikely for me to go back. 4/13/2009

my wife took a female dog who was having complications having the puppies and the vet in shift did not seem to know what he was doing, with the exception that he gave her a shot to improve the contractions on the dog, then after 2 hours a pup had it's head sticking out of the birth canal of the mama he decided to pull it out, but by then he was death, so my wife took it back home and deliver the other 2 pups by ourselves, having to pull 'em out with our bare hands, the pups are doing just fine, and I have to thank the vet for giving my dog the shot for the contractions, besides that I wouldn't recommend it. And I am sorry if this discourages anybody from going to the er vet at this location. more

The Emergency Vet Clinic in Spartanburg used to not be where you would want to have to take your pet but in the past few years they have drastically improved! The staff is very friendly now and not only care about the pets but they also care about the people who are having to bring their pets in.
