…to Buckhead Animal Hospital. \r Dr Davis, BAH's Medical Director and her whole staff went above and beyond their call of duty to save my cat’s life. Six months ago my house burned down in a terrible fire and I lost everything I ever owned. Fortunately my 2 little girls, my 2 dogs and I were not home that afternoon but my 3 legged, 7 yr old cat was not that lucky. After 4 hours trying to control the fire 3 firemen went in the house through my bedroom window and heard a loud meowing coming from the rubble. After removing all the debris they found my baby inside my clothes hamper. He was wet and very scared. Nothing else was saved from my home, NOTHING but my baby, and that is all we cared about. Boots’ 3 little legs were severely burned and things were not looking good for him. His first night at the Emergency Clinic he was taken to by the firemen was $1500, and that was just to stabilize his lungs. As for his burns all they could do was give him pain killers and anti-inflammatory more

VCA Buckhead Top Notch 7/13/2013

VCA Buckhead Animal Hospital is an outstanding group of vets and the staff is wonderful. In the past 9 years of dealing with them they have exceeded my expectations. They take the time to explain the after care as well. Their prices are competitive. I am very pleased with them and would highly recommend them to my friends. more

I have gone to this practice since 1978 and when the original practice was sold to VCA a few years ago I didn't know what to expect. My dogs always received excellent care and I would never entrust them to anyone else. When VCA took over there was a period of time where the transition was rough. I wasn't totally happy but gave them time to build a new hospital. And they did! When they brought Dr. Davis in as medical director and brought in a new office manager, it became an even better vet practice. They kept some of their finest, brightest vets and hired more. They are the best and their prices are competitive. I happen to be the founder of Adopt a Golden Atlanta and this practice was the first to help us. Of the 3,000 golden retrievers and great pyrenees we have saved, it has been this group of vets who has treated and cared for over 1,500 of them.... making them whole again and giving them a second chance to enjoy life. I can only tell you if you had a bad experience then i more

Using this clinic is a danger to your pets 7/6/2013

I wish I could select less than 1 star for this review. I started going to VCA Buckhead in 2006, then known as Buckhead Animal Clinic. I adopted a puppy who was born at Atlanta Pet Rescue who was very sick and had been treated at Buckhead before we adopted him. Despite the long drive from our home in Decatur, we continued to use this as our vet clinic because of the phenomenal treatment we got there. We adopted another dog and both had received quality treatment at Buckhead Animal Clinic up until the day they became VCA Buckhead. After this, all my favorite vets left the clinic, prices went up and quality of treatment went down. \r Last summer was the final straw. I brought both dogs in for their annual exam and a dental cleaning. The (exceptionally rude) people at the front desk convinced me to get some "package deal" that would end up being cheaper, but was $950 in the end. The "package deal" included a urinalysis, which showed that one of my dogs had a urinary tract infection. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/7/2012

Ask for Dr. Heather Markway. This doctor is amazing! While I am not a fan of the VCA BS, Dr.Markway is the real deal! When I hit the lotto, she will be my on staff vet, she is the truth! The other doctors are also great, I have never been let down by any of the medical advice from the BAC team.\r more

Stellar Service, Always Compassionate 8/3/2010

I have been taking my pups here for almost ten years and I would not go anywhere else. Ever. Yes, they are walk-in only but it is worth the wait. All of the vets on staff give you as much time as you need when your pet is being treated, always make sure you have all of your questions answered before you leave, always return your calls and follow up after appointments and never make you feel rushed or that you are not being attended to in every way. Some folks think they are too expensive - on the contrary - their rates are extremely competitive and my babies are worth it, anyway.\r \r I agree with Barry H about "Anna R." Having worked as a vet tech myself I personally can attest to how barbaric and horrible a declaw sx can be. Unfortunately, uneducated folks like Anna will continue to insist on having the procedure done because they can't be bothered to train their cats or just simply clip their nails weekly. And to "Tammy H": I am so sorry for your loss. I recently lost my dog to c more

Worst vet clinic experience ever 6/19/2010

Terribly rude, arrogant and uncaring. Avoid unless you have thousands of dollars to burn. I will not be taking any of my pets here again! more

You can do better in Atlanta 6/19/2010

I tried this highly overrated Buckhead clinic once, but never again. Though I tried this place because someone I trusted recommended them, I feel like they did not want my business. They have hung up on me each time I've called, often while I was in mid-question. They were indescribably rude in person and seemed very uncaring about my dog. Maybe they just don't want new business? That was the impression I got. Pros: comfortable waiting room Cons: people are rude more

Well-run, competent clinic who care 8/10/2009

Pretty up-standing, patient, and professional staff and medical practitioners. They have *always* called back after our cats' difficulties. I have no stake in their operation and can say, without hesitation, that I would recommend. To the "Anna R." below: You chose an unnecessary, painful, and destructive "procedure" for your cats (. . . claw removal . . . look up what this actually is. It's as if someone was to amputate each of your fingers at the last knuckle. You think that would be pleasant? How about trying to hold something? Nice, real nice. Hope your furniture looks good still.) then you complain that a cat ends up with a flea. (By the way, the box here actually comes with a built-in spell checker. It's right there . . . beneath where the words are appearing. Maybe your cat-knuckle necklace is blocking the screen.) Last, the topical medication for fleas takes a grand total of 20 bucks in cost and 60 seconds in application time for virtual elimination in less than 48 hours. You more

They killed my cat 3/30/2009

I suspected she had Cancer, was told not to worry. After insisting and insisting, finally got tested and their antiquated machines, unfamiliar technicians couldn't detect it. Only a couple weeks later, another clinic found cancer all over. She might have lived if the cancer had been discovered early. Would not recommend for anyone who loves their pet. more

Been going there for 10 years 1/10/2009

I used to live near this vet but moved further away almost 5 years ago. I still schlep my animals over there regularly b/c it's the only clinic where I feel the vets really care about my animals and me. I've gone through several pet losses over the years with BAC and the vets and staff couldn't have been kinder or more understanding. Plus, I will sometimes call in and leave a message for a vet, asking if I really need to bring my pet in and they always call back and give me their best opinion free of charge. They're not cheap but you don't get quality medical care cheap these days. And my babies are worth it. more

Young staff ""100 year old"" machines 11/11/2008

I've taken my cat to Buckhead Animal Clinic for years. 4 months ago, I asked for her to be screened for Cancer. I was told she seemed fine, didn't have any symptoms, not to worry. Two months later, there was a bump on her skin. It was Cancer. After removing it, got Xrays, ultrasound. All clear. Many visits, two different Vets, nothing. Less than a month later, went to another clinic, they found Cancer all over her! I feel we could have prevented the Cancer from spreading if Buckhead Animal Clinic had screened her when I first suggested. Also if the Xray and Ultrsound machines weren't ""100 years old"" as the Vet actually said to me! Pros: Friendly Staff Cons: Old machines and bad advice more

Wouldn't go anywhere else 8/12/2008

I have been taking my dogs to Buckhead Animal Clinic for 15 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. If my dogs could talk, they would tell you the same thing. Although I have one particular doctor that I see (and adore), she is sometimes not there so I have seen all the other vets and they are terrific. \r \r You can tell by chatting with the other clients in the waiting area that they, too, are most comfortable with the entire staff at Buckhead Animal Clinic....everyone has something positive to say. more

Worst animal hospital!! 8/1/2008

I took my two cats in to get their claws removed and since i have brought them home they have flees. My cats are indoor cats and have never had a flee problem, or even been exposed to flee's in any way. I called the office to ask if there was anything they could do for my cats, the receptionist then just took my name and number and said she would have a docter call me back. When the docter called back he did not introduce himself and just asked rudely what did i need? I told him that the facility gave my cats flee's and he said that it happens all the time but there is nothing he can do about it. He was very rude to me and he also thought i was trying to scam them for flee medicine. The claw removal cost me over $500 and now I have to pay addition cost to treat flees that my cats got from their facililty. The staff was rude, the facilility was unclean, and they do not care about their clients. I felt like I was dealing with a scaming mechanic. Do not take your pets here if you care abo more

Buckhead Animal Clinic 7/31/2006

My pet dog Ruby had a paw problem one time and she really had a very hard time putting her right paw down especially when she was walking or running. When we took her to Buckhead Animal Clinic, The vet took a look on her paws, examined it, and after few minutes he found a splinter on her paw. He got it out and Ruby felt so much better. So when you have any pet problems, Go to Buckhead Animal Clinic, they will gonna make your pet feel better. more

Walk-in Vet 6/3/2006

This clinic is great about getting you and your pet in and out. They have quite a few vets on site and understand the stress you pet is going through being there. They have great hours and days and are walk in only. They have a convenient location right off of the interstate in midtown. They are average with pricing for the visit. more
