My husband and I moved here from California and chose this animal hospital on a recommendation. When we went to get our older dog his annual Bordatella shot for daycare they charged us almost $80 because the actual vet administered the shot so it was $50 to "see the vet". We didn't come in for a vet visit we just needed a quick shot to the nose so our dog could continue going to daycare. In California it was $13 and a vet tech would come out and practically did it in the lobby. I was furious at the high price but made the mistake of going there a second time with our new puppy for his first round of shots. We have been through puppy shots before in California with our first dog and I still had all the receipts. We were charged $76 in California AND met with the Vet. Here we were charged almost around $150 for his shots and vet charge! I could NOT believe it when I got to the check out! And on top of that they recommended a "new" flea medicine that killed fleas/ticks and it was so amazing and did something more than frontline (I cannot remember what specifically now). We purchased it and spent over $200 for the FIRST round of puppy shots and two one month doses of this new flea medicine. I was shocked at the price differences between Indiana and California and would have thought it would have been more expensive in California. When I went to purchase more of this "amazing" flea medicine online where I was hoping it was cheaper I found out the brand they recommended was ONLY sold in VCA Animal Hospitals. It was not available online and people were reporting nasty side affects. At this point I felt this animal hospital was just out to rack up as many charges as they could. I decided to ask around for any more recommendations and went to another doctor in the area. He was wonderful and his prices were MUCH more appropriate. I absolutely love my pets and pamper them with daycare & toys but there is no reason to overpay for the same services at this animal hospital that you can receive at a competor for HALF the price.
