Growing up in Oklahoma, I love a good barbecue! Lately, I have really had the craving for a good barbecue dinner, so a friend of mine took me out to a popular place in Moore, called Van's Pig Stand.
First impression... small, not filthy, but not really clean. We went in, stood in line to order our food, and then found a table to wait until they called our name to pick it up and bring it back to the table ourselves. Yes, they have servers, but pretty much all they do is refill your drink.
We got our food, and within the first couple bites, I knew I was not impressed. I ordered the chopped brisket, which is what I almost always order, and it was so full of gristle, I could not eat it. Not only that... their fries were pretty bad too... yes, someone can mess up fries!!!! They were completely crunchy, and completely oversalted... bleh! Even my son did not eat them, now that's a very telling sign, when he passes on the french fries!
For three of us, the price was twenty-five dollars. That would not be bad if it was a really great place, but to be honest, I feel like that was a wasted twenty-five bucks! I will not be returning to this restaurant.
