This optical was recommended to me by a friend. I am glad she referred me to them! The Dr. did a thorough exam and was very nice. Then I went to their glasses section . There were lots of nice frames, I ended up picking a cool Coach one.\r I will be back next year to see these guys for sure! more

When I need glasses I usually fear the price that will follow. My insurance only gives me free ones with very poor or old designs. So when I want something nicer, it costs. Value Optical did a nice job with selection and price and I got the frames I wanted affordably. They will take care of you here. more

I had my eye exam appointment on March 3,2011. The staff was very nice and the moral was exceptional. I picked out frames and the staff took time with me and didn't rush me by any means to make any decisions. It is now March 31, 2011 and still no glasses by NO fault of Value Optical. My insurance company has their own lab and have misplaced my first frame that was sent to them and stated when asked ""we never received your frames"", then 2 weeks later they received the frames the second time from Value Optical and scratched my lenses twice since then. Needless to say when I explained that I have a huge computerized adaptive test on April 13th 2011 the insurance company felt the need to counsel me verses giving me other options. I was frantic because I can't afford to take the chance taking a 6 hr exam on a computer without glasses. I called Value Optical and asked if my prescription could be bought over the counter at CVS or Walgreens etc... and they felt concerned enough to and cared about my situation enough that they are providing me with a pair of free glasses that I can keep to get me by. This is by far not Value Optical's responsibility to provide me with glasses free of charge for the terrible customer service that my insurance company has provided. The entire staff cares about their patient's and there is not enough thanks in the world to give to Value Optical. They have gone the extra mile to take care of me even though they didn't have to. Thanks Mike, Tabitha, Jessica, and my Dr. you guys are great and a life saver! Thank you sooooooo very much!!!!!! Very professional and I will recommend Value Optical Plant City location to everyone I come in contact with! more

I don't usually write reviews but I felt that this optical deserved my time. You see, my 2 girls and 1 boy along with my fiancee all wear glasses. So we've been to many places in Plant City and the surrounding areas. But we have never been treated so well. When it comes to how fast we received our glasses( less than 3 days) it was a suprise. The man doctor they have there was GREAT with my children, and my husband who is picky:) I've been to Visionworks in the Brandon Town Center Mall and I felt a bit like cattle signing in and waiting 45 minutes just to pick up our glasses. Last year we went to Wal-mart and the Exam and glasses cost more than Value optical. And Wal-mart took a week to get our glasses.(kind of slow) Sorry for rambling but it was a great expererience all around. more

Just left the office and wanted to write a quick review. Mike the Optician was great with me and my kids. He and the girl that was there chose some nice frames for us and were very friendly. All I'm saying is I am glad this store is here for us!!! more

I have had nothing but a NIGHTMARE !!!! with these folks. Their ONLY saving grace is that the doctor is very nice. I intially went in to get a copy of my former prescrition remade...they did that in about an hour with a pair of their OVERPRICED frames, but they did it right and fast and everyone seemed nice despite the prices which counts for something in my book. So several months later I went back for a new exam and new frames-WHAT A )@(*$(&@ nightmarish expereince. I have spent OVER $500 for a pair of sunglasses, regular glasses and reading glasses. They cannot get the prescrition right. Ive been back 4!!!!! times and still cant see (And Ive had glasses many times made over the past 20 years and NEVER EVER have had this kinda problem and nothing with my eyes or health has changed to effect my vision except for the standard aging process)-they give me excuses everytime, its the axis, its the curvature of the lense, we wont make your reading glasses now, we have to send them BACK to the lab, it'll be ANOTHER week-this has gone on almost 2 months n Im still blind. (cant see distances all my life and now at the age I need reading glasses as well) I asked to speak to the owner-he's the punk guy who will try to sell you the most expensive frames in there (and they dont have cheap ones!) He was IMMEDIATELY defensive when I finally had had enough. He said NO REFUNDS, PERIOD n if youll look at their finacial records you can see they arent doing all that well finacially as a bus. Now the one time I was firm but Im not a screaming #%^$&TRYING TO make a scene, I just want to see and for $500 ud think theyd have me seeing by now or provide refund so I could go to a compentant shop. I have filed a complaint with the Better Bus. Bureau and suggest you do the same if youve had a negative expereince with these folks. This is almost one of those horrid experiences you see on 8 on your side or such. Ill say it again, the Doctor is very nice, but I STILL cant see. :( !!!
