I brought in two pairs of designer jeans to get hemmed - should be pretty simple and inexpensive. I asked the woman how much it would cost for both pairs of pants to be hemmed with the original hem and she replied $35 total for both pairs. Great, that was what I had expected. I proceeded to try on the pants to get measured and marked. It turned out that I only needed the original hem on one pair of jeans and I could do a regular hem on the second pair (great, even less expensive yet). She requested payment before I left - which was wonderful, considering I have heard all of the horror stories of people not getting their clothing back without paying obscene amounts of money. She wrote up the receipt and requested $53 plus tax, which was clearly way off her original quote of $35.00, 5 minutes before. As I questioned her, she completely denied her previous quote, acting like I was crazy, stating that it would be $17.50 per leg on the original hem and $18.00 total for the regular hem pants. Who prices alterations by the leg? Like I want one leg cut short and the other left long? I don't think so. Needless to say, I took my pants and didn't pay one cent. If you go to Valentina's make sure to ask if the price quote is per pair, or per leg! It would just be easier to go somewhere else!
Pros: Location - next to Bellevue Square
Cons: They try to bait and switch on you - they price pant hems per leg
