I have been going to this cleaner for 2 years. Most recently, I took in over $500 worth of cleaning once I got all of my pre-Katrina clothes out of storage. A couple of weeks later I had need of some alterations; a pair of pants to hem, take up straps on a long dress, and take in shoulders on a shirt. Despite the fact that there was an alterations business next door, the dry cleaner owner asked me to try their alteration service. I agreed and, in the sweltering heat in a makeshift changing room, I had everything pinned.\r
When I went to pick up the alterations on the date he gave me (no special rush job requested by me), they were not ready. He made no apology and offered no reason why they weren't ready. Two days later I picked them up and drove home. The first opportunity I had to wear one of the items was 1 1/2 weeks later and I found that one shoulder of the shirt was still far too loose and exposing my lingerie. I took it back the next week and showed him the problem.\r
He informed me that since I had taken the tag off of the item that I would have to pay for it again. He also said that I had given my OK to how he had pinned it. Yes, I had. However wasn't it entirely possible that the person doing the alterations had made a mistake?\r
He became very hostile with me, removed the pins that he had just put in the shirt, threw it on the counter and told me he wouldn't redo it. I reminded him how much business I had been bringing him and asked him if he was willing to jeopardize losing both my dry cleaning and alterations business over an item that would probably cost $12 to redo. He said he could care less about my business! I left and will never return to the establishment.\r
There is no great advantage to using this dry cleaner. The work is mediocre, the prices are average to high, and they refuse to correct their mistakes. Find another place that will place a value on loyal, happy customers.
Cons: Miserable customer service
