The SFCU option for student banking looks good at first - minimal fees, international student friendly arrangements and a student touch.
Unfortunately, the bank actually fails to deliver key services and makes reoccurring mistakes. Over the last 6 months, they have mistakenly withdrawn over $100 from my checking account (from duplicate transactions and ATM fees applied when I actually used my visa card). Almost every month I have to scan my statement and e-mail them with the incorrect deductions which they then correct. I'm sure there are plenty who don't check their statement and are getting robbed every month.
Their hours during the vacations are also pretty bad. If you have a stipend check to put in your account between the 18th of Dec and the 13th of Jan, tough. The bank's not open so you'll have to deal with it until they reopen.
Ultimately the bank offers terrible service, and I'm currently in the process of switching to another bank that doesn't take my money.
My recommendation: avoid this pain.
