I have had a storage unit with University Self Storage for a couple of years now and I have NEVER had this much hassle or problems with an owner of a business as I have with ""Chris"" (the owner). First of all, I can mail a check to him, knowing that it will be received by him in time for it to be cashed and before the due date, and somehow it only posts on my bank account after the due date... allowing him to give me a ""late fee"". Secondly, he said I had an over-draft check which he claims that he had his bank re-run the check 3 times and then proceeded to charge me a fee for each time he ran the check (two of which, weren?t even a check that I had given him, but from another tenant renting a different unit). Lastly, he claims that I had a balance overdue about a year ago, that I have since paid, (according to my online banking account, check register, and other documentation provided to me by him) and every time I call him to have the extra padlock removed from my unit, he refuses to do so... stating that I ""still have a balance"". Even when I show him that I have paid, he refused to take the lock off of my unit!!
