RENAISSANCE RESIDENTS!!! YOU HAVE AN OPTION 2/18/2010

If you live in the RENAISSANCE communities you may have been told that you have to have University Cable. This is NOT the case. You may use ANY cable company that you want, in fact ATT Uverse recently laid fiber optic in your area. It maybe hard to get a hold of someone to cancel University so you could just stop paying them or ask your new cable provider to do it for you. Pros: GET A NEW CABLE PROVIDER Cons: No Communication, Unhappy subscribers more

Renaissance Villas Cable $UCKS! 6/16/2009

Ok, So I thought I was the only one in this dilemma until I met the internet. Oh God oh God do these people $uck! Yes, University Cable $ucks @$$. I didn't know it was the same two headed beast sleeping in the same bed in my apartment complex....renaissance villas just in case you wanted to know. I've just wasted a couple of hours from my employer trying to get a hold on one of these useless bastards to answer the phone. Is there no way out of this? How about cancelling the service and going with another provider like AT&T or DISH? Anyone? HELP!!!! Pros: NONE! Cons: Terrible cable service more

THIS IS RIDICULOUS 5/4/2009

First of all, if you call their number 858 (793-2442) you reach a company called “Cappella”. I am trying to get a hold of them because they are billing me incorrectly and it’s like they don’t exist. I can never reach them, but they are very on time with their bills in the mail. It is ridiculous that I have to pay double cable (University lame Cable and Time Warner). I am obligated to use this company because of the area I live in. It is ridiculous Monopoly. I was always suspicious that this was the reason behind the it, but I have just been confirmed that the owner of the Renaissance developments in UTC (area in which you HAVE to use University Cable) is also the owner of University Cable. What a coincidence right? it's a big fat scam. I am so tempted to take them to court just like review #2 said he did. I end up paying over $100.00 each month for cable. I can't stand writing that $54.13 check every month. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Cable companies are evil 3/12/2008

I totally agree with the reviews here. Why do I've to go through them in order to talk to Time warner and deal with the bad customer service? I had to call them five times just to talk to them! Moreover cable prices are ridiculous, Almost $60 just to get the very basic cable!! Cable companies in general are very evil, they have a monopoly in the area they operate and can charge any ridiculous amount for the services. more

My experience 2/19/2008

New resident in the area. Thought you might like to know the steps I took to, completely unknowingly, become a 'customer' of University Cable:\r \r 1) Went to Time-Warner San Diego's website, selected a package for both digital cable tv and broadband\r \r 2) Scheduled an installation window\r \r 3) Time-Warner installation tech arrived, delivered equipment, and set everything up\r \r 4) Enjoyed 14 days of use\r \r 5) Woke up one morning and all service was down. Spent hour with Time-Warner customer service\r \r 6) Went to lunch and noticed cute red notice on my door from a company called ""University Cable"" and it said my service was disconnected. \r \r 7) After repeated calls, University Cable is completely and utterly unavailable for customer service or any kind communication.\r \r Meanwhile, I continue to be billed by Time-Warner regardless of service status from University Cable.\r \r My question to all those in the area: What kind of system is this? How can someone become a customer of a company without ever being aware of it? I received no bills and scheduled my service through Time-Warner. Not once was a mention of a company called ""University Cable"" made.\r \r Beware of this company and any cable service in general in 92122 area.\r \r (Good service, Tasty and perfect pizza, Enjoyed my experience : for the filters) more

It's true they stink 2/10/2008

University Cable does stink, unfortunately there are not many choices for cable services in certain areas so this review doesn't matter because we're all stuck with them and their evil step twin Time Warner. Pros: It's cable Cons: No competitors to choose creating an environment for horrible customer service. more

Universal Cable really stinks! 10/11/2007

This is absolutely the worst company of any biusiness in the entire universe. Review #1 is correct. Unbeknownst to me, they cut off my TV and my Road Runner Internet access due to unpaid late fees. The internet part is none of their business. I paid the fines and took them to small claim court last summer (2006) and I won! You would think they will change thier business practice after a lost court battle, but hell no, they did not. They just don't care. If anyone wants to take them to court, please do. Write me at 5309 Renaissance Ave, San Diego, CA 92122, an I will tell you how I won,\r \r This site will not allow posting of email addresses. Cons: none exisitence customers service, greed, and many others... more

University Cable San Diego 6/3/2007

University Cable San Diego is quite possibly the worst Cable Company in the world. They refuse to send out monthly statements to their customers. Instead they send out a year supply of envelops and expect you to remember to pay your bill on the 10th of every month. If you are late they then have no problem sending you a statement with a nice $10.00 late fee. I've never seen anything like this. What company offers a monthly service yet refuses to send customers a bill?? If you can avoid using University Cable I would highly recommend it. On top of this they never answer the phone if you do have questions. There level of customer service is extremely poor and they are run like a mom and pop shop. \r \r If you have the choice avoid University Cable at all costs. more
