The Best Shopping in Chapel Hill 12/11/2008

Uniquities is the best shopping in Chapel Hill. This store has a wonderful selection of styles (in my opinion, their buyers have a great eye and select fashionable items that are also easy to wear.) Most of the reliable labels are represented as well as some new designers. The staff also has a good eye - they are very good at helping pull items to try and giving honest opinions. The Chapel Hill area is lacking a good department store so Uniquities has become my ""go to"" store for work clothes and special events. They also have nice selection of jeans and casual items. Pros: Great selection of styles, great service Cons: Need more selection of sizes, carry more shoes more

Friendliest sales staff! 12/22/2007

As an avid and informed consumer , I thought my two cents might be appreciated. I shop at Uniquities because of the personal attention I cannot seem to find at bigger department stores. Additionally, after numerous online returns, I decided that a small boutique with personable sales staff was the way to go. These girls are very knowledgable about the merchandise and go out of their way to make sure you leave with the absolut perfect outfit for any occasion. This is my new destination for anything from denim (you can't lose, they carry a pair for everyone) or formal dresses with shoes and accesories to match! It may look tiny, but this IS Chapel Hill's go-to for the personal shopping experience I have grown accustomed to. Pros: exceptional customer service and product knowledge Cons: bring your change to park! more

Nice store! 8/3/2005

I saw the others' negative comments about the manager or salespeople and thought people should know there's a new manager, who is very nice and knowledgeable. The store looks small from the street, but once you get inside, you'll see it has another room toward the back and is very chic-looking. Lots of unique, pretty clothes. Prices are high, but then again, it's not TJ Maxx. A fun place to go on Franklin Street-- even more fun if you have the money to spend there! Pros: Pretty clothes Cons: Expensive more

POOR Customer Service 10/12/2004

The customer service at Uniquities was awful! They will not take back defective merchandise nor will they give you a store credit. The sales associate are rude as well as the store manager/owner. I'd rather shop at a store that has polite and respectable sales associates... there are enough specialty stores in the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area now. more

Shop there, buy elsewhere 9/4/2004

Although Uniquities might have cute clothing, their horrible customer service makes shopping there not worth it at all! You can never get your money back for returns, even if there was a defect in the clothing. Most clothes are non-returnable and if you talk to the manager or owner, they're downright rude. Find what you like there and buy it at Nordstrom or online. Pros: Cute clothes Cons: , Over-priced more

You won't be welcomed 2/21/2003

I have never left a store feeling more upset than when I last visited Uniquities. The sales staff may be knowledgeable about their products but the customer would never know. When I walked into the store, not only was I not greeted, the sales associates acted as if I were intruding. The clothing is lovely however many of the labels are over-priced. You can find them at more reasonable places else where Pros: wide jean selection Cons: snotty staff, over-priced, badly merchandised more

my fave store in chapel hill 8/29/2002

Although often teeming with snotty UNC/Duke undergrads babbling about Prada and Kate Spade in affected NYC/LI accents, Uniquities remains my favorite store in Chapel Hill. Why? It is the only place in the area where I can get the clothes I love without having to travel long distances. Although the prices were jacked up a bit, it was worth the it. And their attic sales rock! The staff, in general, was courteous and, like in most designer boutiques, helped only when asked. But I found shopping there fun and warmed up to the staff over time. With lines like Theory, Earl, Seven, BCBG, Shoshanna, and Joseph, Uniquities is a definite must for the fashionista in all of us! more

The Best in Denim & Swimwear 8/26/2002

I shopped at Uniquities throughout my tenure at UNC. This is the best place in the Triangle to find the latest styles in denim - if it is new and hot they have it. They also have a great selection of swimwear. The one thing that sometimes lacks are the salespeople. Although some of them are helpful and friendly, many of them have their noses in the air. more

Want a bargain, shop at WalMart... 6/10/2002

but if you desire the latest fashions from NYC, LA, Paris and Italy, Uniquities is the place to shop in the Triangle. The hip boutiques are stocked with the best clothing and accessories from around the world. With locations on the west end of Franklin Street and in the heart of Cameron Village, great fashion is totally accessible. The friendly, knowledgeable staff can help you attain your personal style. But I'm not talking about Mayberry! Pros: accessibility, selection Cons: decisions, credit card limits more

Jeans- good selection 6/6/2002

Jeans, jeans and more jeans. Uniquities had all my favorite brands. I found a great pair of Sevens that I had been looking for everywhere. I must have tried on twenty pairs and it didn't seem to faze the saleperson that they were going to have to refold a pile the size of Mount Everest. more
