Best

Typhoon knows their curries -- I've tried some of their other dishes and gave them kind of "meh" ratings but their curries are heads and shoulders ...

Worst

I've been meaning to go there for Happy Hour since I've heard good thing about it. Went last Sunday and was told they don't have HH anymore. What?!?! Disappointed.

Great dessert 10/28/2008

I never really figured out what's so special about this place, and yet people likes it. I particularly like the mango and sticky rice dessert. Happy hour is good too. more

I like it spicy 4/22/2007

This is one of the few Thai restaurants that makes the food spicy enough for me when I ask. Thanks! more

Typhoon: Delicious Thai Restaurant 1/7/2007

The Thai food at Typhoon is absolutely scrumptious, no matter what dish you get. I've gone there for dinner with a handful of people and we all ordered a dish to try. In total, there were about six dishes and every single dish was extremely tasty (though I'm not a fan of spicy foods). The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. It is also quite small with a very small waiting area. My co-worker and I recently had lunch there and I paid $15 for my meal (for one dish, water, tax, and tip) which isn't too bad for a restaurant. more

Great Thai! 8/14/2006

I love Typhoon. They make the best panang and green curry in town. I always forget how much I love their food and miss it until I go there again. I just had it last weekend as take-out. Take-out is just as tasty as dining in the restaurant. Do try the panang and/or green curry over brown rice. YUMMY! more

Typhoon delivers 4/30/2006

Nestled into a corner of the Bella Bottega shopping center, Typhoon is easy to miss; however, it is *not* to be missed. Friendly staff and pleasant decor are only the beginning. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The yellow chicken curry, shrimp pad thai, and "Nibbler" appetizer plate were all delicious. They were also running a special on a bottle of sauvignon blanc for $14, which made us very happy! Our server was solicitous but unobtrusive and very professional. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star rating is that the restrooms are shared with another restaurant, and you have to walk through Typhoon's sort of "outer kitchen," if you will, to get to them. Kind of strange. more

A great lunch is not about the cost 3/18/2006

Just because a meal costs more, does not mean it is better. The food may be primary, but the ambiance, service, and company could be even more important. Cost is way down the list. Although it is too late for your business expense lunch, on your own account, check out Typhoon, in Redmond. It is a Thai restaurant that will meet your tasty needs, and keep you coming back. There is also a Typhoon in the old Wild Ginger location, on Western, in Seattle. more

good lunch place 2/7/2006

Having been to Thailand a few times i can say this place is ok. Meaning it is a good lunch place to go to if you are in the area. The food is fresh and they have a variety of dishes to choose from. Even have a daily lunch menu. more

Fresh and yummy! 12/29/2005

While I can't attest to whether or not the food at Typhoon is genuine Thai, I can say that I find the freshness, quality and creativity of Typhoon's selections to be consistently outstanding. The location of the restaurant in a suburban shopping center that also has a movie theater is somewhat off-putting but once inside the restaurant, you forget about the expanse of parking lot and the number of cars outside. The vast selection of teas is a lot of fun and I've found the wait staff to be quite knowledgeable and more than willing to offer tea recommendations tailored for your mood, your state of health or the occasion. more

Teas and More Teas 9/14/2005

What better place to have tea than in a Thai restaurant with some Satay and drunken noodles!! They have over 100 different teas to select from including Thai iced tea. If you love tea you have got to come here. Oh and by the way, the food here is terrific too. Take note: They are closed between lunch and dinner. Often times this place is packed, so there can be a wait. more

good lunch 9/9/2005

Although Seattle tends to be over-populated with Thai restaurants a few good ones are hard to find. Having lived in Thailand, I can speak from experience that not all Thai food in Seattle is actually that. Typhoon has done a good job with decor, but the food is above par when it comes to taste and general quality. I can't say it's the best, but the standard fare is great, and all the classic Thai dishes are well represented. more

Is Thailand close enough 3/18/2005

OK, so Typhoon does not serve Japanese food, and so I have not been to the Redmond restaurant. It is Thai ( Thailand being close to Japan) and I have been to Typhoon in downtown Seattle (in the old Wild Ginger location). My step son is a part-time waiter in the Redmond and Seattle restaurants, and says the food is equally excellent. I think you would be going for the great food, not the decor, in Redmond. more
