Bandera's BEST Dude Ranch!! 11/21/2011

I have been going to this ranch my whole life and and I have NEVER had a bad time. The management has always been so nice and welcoming. I always gravitate to the wranglers as they are so nice and just fun to listen too. I love the rustic environment but at the same time there is a small town only a couple miles away. This is a great location! The river runs straight through the ranch and there are fossils down there. I love this place and I will be back atleast once a year! more

Great times on the Ranch 7/12/2010

Wonderful family experience. Great time, beautiful scenery, good food, met other families, rode horses, floated the river. I really loved drinking coffee and petting the horses in the morning as they came in right behind our cabin. Campfire, s'mores, hayrides, Pedro- the pet deer, and Peach - the adorable bassett puppy. The A/C worked well in the bunkhouse, and I believe in a good A/C. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Good visits with the managers and the wranglers. Pros: Where do I start? Cons: Started as a rainy and muddy more

Great family place 7/11/2010

The scenery was beautiful. If you have never ridden, no worries. If you don't ride there are many things to do. It is not down town Houston. Go fishing. Look at the clouds in the quiet. Take a walk and see the wild turkeys, roadrunners, deer, armadillos. There is a game Room, but play dominoes with your spouse or kids. Go to the pool or river. Sit and read and listen to all of the great birds they have. Take your binoculars. The food is homey and good and plenty. Pros: family friendly always something to do safety mineded Cons: It rains sometimes more

Bad Service! 7/8/2007

We were supposed to stay 4 nights, only stayed 3 and did not receive a refund even though we left due to bad service. No apologies either. The lady manager was not friendly or professional and couldn't have cared less how we were treated. They advertise ""all you can eat"", but they limit you to 1 of this or 2 of that and watch what you take and then stand there and watch you eat. They are more concerned about having enough left to feed their staff than their guests. The food was not good anyway. They gossip too much. I can't count how many times I caught ranch hands talking about us to other guests. They choose favorites and treat some guests better than others. They advertised ""tubing on the river"" and they only took us once! They advertise two horseback rides a day and we went a total of 2 times the whole 3 days we were there because they only go at certain times and if the weather is bad at that time, they will not go and do not reschedule. They had marshmallows to roast at a tiny campfire in the evening. When a guest asked for stuff to make s'mores, the reply was ""we don't provide that, we are poor."" One of the staff at lunch commented how she was very upset because they served cheesecake one day and she wanted some but there was none left for her after the guests were fed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The cost is way too much for what you get. I would recommend going to another ranch in the area. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool but it was very small. The only person who was always nice to us and friendly was the girl who checked us in and showed us around. Save your money and go somewhere else. Cons: Everything more
