Truly ""neighborhood cafe"" in atmosphere, on a quiet street and with friendly service. The portions are generous and the prices are unbeatable. I love mediterranean/middle eastern food, and each dish I've had here compares favorably or just flat-out flummoxes those from other restaurants around the city. The menu is fairly small, but is representative of the essential dishes and flavors of the region, each with something a little unusual or special (a good example is the baklava, which is very creamy in texture and with a little cinnamon). Order zaatar bread and an assorted salad plate (babaganouj, hummus, etc) for appetizers. Best middle eastern desserts, baklava and basbousa (semolina cake with almonds and honey). Easliy accessible from the A/C (High St) and 2/3 (Clark St.).
Pros: FOOD! and great prices
Cons: it's not fancy, if that's what you're looking for
