Editorial review from Citysearch 4/24/2014

Just a terrible experience. I gave them a try because I was desperate and thought they may have improved since these reviews are old. Everything is still true, it's an ""anything goes"" atmosphere, we received lots of incident reports of biting, hitting, kicking, scratching (initiated by my child or another) but not much explanation as to how it happened, or WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR WATCHING THEM...? When I asked if my child was the problem they said no and pointed out some children who went home with multiple incident reports every single day.... Yet nothing is done to solve the problem. The front desk seem nice, but are clearly stressed and overworked, which can lead to some unprofessionalism. I could understand that and was able to ignore it. What I could not understand was the director, Miss Patti's, ""no time for anything"" attitude and completely disrespectful tone of voice, everyday. This facility is also FULL of viruses/germs. My son underwent at least 3 rounds of antibiotics in the few months he was there. He never did recover until being withdrawn from school, the doctor just refused to write more scripts for antibiotics, so he had to suffer through the illness. (As I'm sure the rest of his classmates were suffering through the same illness, unmedicated) There was one teacher we really liked who was only there in the mornings. I can say nothing good of any of the others. They looked spaced out, not caring nor nurturing.... At least my son was 3, able to talk, and stand up for himself. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but especially if you have a child under 2. more

Happy with Tutor Time 12/28/2011

I am very happy with the care my child receives at Tutor Time. Everyone has shown great interest in her, including the director, the receptionists and the teachers - (Ms. Patti, Rebecca, Ellie, Pam, Tori and Lori). They are awesome! I like the weekly reports to let me know what my child is learning, how much she is eating and how often she takes a nap. She loves going to school each day and she really loves her teachers! I feel good about the care she receives at Tutor Time and I would highly recommend the school to others. Thanks to everyone for caring about my child. KH more

Happy Camper 3/17/2011

The Director of this school knows her families and honestly cares for their well being. She was wonderful during our classroom transition from infant to toddler. She took the time to ensure that I knew that my child was ready and encouraged me to visit. My daughter is all about her mom and is extremely hesitant to leave my side, even for other family members. She is like a little adult when we get to her classroom at Tutor Time and doesn't even flinch when I leave. She is ready to join the other children. My company recently relocated and I dreaded the thought of finding a new daycare but took the plunge in hopes of reducing our already way too long commute. The Director knew how hard it was for me to leave but supported our decision and made us feel welcome until the day we left. After a rocky start and an uneasy feeling at the new place we called Tutor Time after only a few days to ask about fitting us back in. It took less than a few hours to get us back in the system. All the teachers, even the ones that my daughter has never had were welcoming upon our return. Our commute is longer; but my daughter is thrilled to be back in this structured environment. I am a big fan of Tutor Time and after testing out what else is out there, I can highly recommended them. I encourage you to tour and see these little tykes in action if you are looking for a daycare. You will see the children are happy and thriving. more

The kids there love it! 10/10/2008

I've been in the toddler classes and all the kids thier love it. They all have smiles on their faces. The teachers play games and sing songs. I didn't notice any bad behavior from the teachers. If the kids are mean to one another the 2 kids have to hug each other and say sorry. The teachers seem to truley care about the kids. I would definatly recommend this daycare as far as the toddler classes are concerned. Pros: they go outside alot Cons: a little pricey more

Not good child care 7/16/2008

Where do I begin? I brought my infant there when he was 11 weeks old. They seemed nice but didnt seem to overly care about him. There are so many infants in one room it is hard to even keep track. He has been sick since day one and I find it hard to believe that they truly are as clean as they need to be. They told me they did things then i would catch them not doing them. I would report it to the director and things would change for a week then back to normal. I know infants are going to get sick but i truly felt that they were not as clean as they need to be. I dont think they cared about the children etc. They were just put in a swing or bouncy seat until they could find time to feed them or change them. They were never played with or anything. I would go there during my lunch break and they wouldnt even try to impress me while i was there. I am moving my son this week. more

A-School--- I don't think so 5/2/2008

Oh where to start! I have been so disapointed in this school from the beginning. The director tells you what you want to hear so it's pretty pointless to complain about the myriad of issues that exist. Toys, equipment and carpeting are absolutely filthy. Many of these items simply need to be thrown out but continue to receive their nightly splash of bleach to meet state requirements. And yes I literally mean splash. Teachers are overwhelmed and overworked and underpaid. I have witnessed several teachers talk to children in a tone and way that is highly inappropriate and downright damaging---but nothing happens. One teacher was removed from the infant room for being ""too rough"" with babies--- but parents were never told and the employee has only been moved to another class. Another teacher that was rough with a 2-year old is apparently taking a class to correct the behavior? I see that same teacher saying things to children that are so inappropriate that I cringe and debate whether to tell parents (my child is not in that room). Was anything in either case reported to the state? There is mandatory reporting in incidents like this--but teachers have no idea it is law to report these issues. Teachers must work through illness and 104 degree temperatures--- in one case the director would not allow a teacher to leave when she was VERY sick. The daycare flooded last year and it took months for stinky carpeting to be replaced. Incident reports where your child fell or were injured are given to you weeks/months later to sign. All of this is due to POOR leadership--yet the corporate office somehow believes the director is a saint and have her training other area Tutor Time leaders. Pay your teachers (more than $8 an hour) so you get some educated/qualified caretakers in the door---- and please get rid of the Director. I am on this site with the hope of locating a reliable, loving, clean daycare for my child. Pros: close to my home Cons: Poor leadership, dirty classes & toys more

Previously a superb school, not so sure anymore 4/9/2008

The school was great when I first arrived but as another reviewer said their restructuring has left something to be desired here. Money is a common theme here - always something for us to pull more out of our pocket for. Summer fees, early registration fees months before fall is even a thought in our minds, constant expenses that add up to far more than the weekly payments are. They're lacking some organization that they used to have & my kids are starting to act bored with the everyday themes. Lots of play but I'm not seeing as much improvement in my 4 year old as I had been told I would when he was placed into the 4 yr old classroom. Several teachers seem to be disgruntled or cranky & that's not playing well on me or the kids either. Pros: Lots of activities for the summer - good time for all Cons: Expensive weekly rates that aren't showing a huge ROI more

Would recommend with some reservations 10/24/2007

I would recommend this school, but the academics are not real strong here. My children were otherwise cared for pretty well. I did take them to another school and I am happier for better academics and more structure. \r \r Classrooms were dirty after meals though and they did not seem to have enough food for all the children.\r \r Renna more

Average school 7/10/2007

I took my two children out of this school placed them at another school. They are more interested in the money since they had a restructuring. I would not recommend this school unless it was a last resort. Pros: 2 thumbs half bent more
