Tribeca Tav 7/16/2010

Tribeca tavern's sweet. They have all kinds of beer, the wings were awesome and there are also a lot of hot chicks at the tav, but when they beat you at pool, it sucks. Seriously, this bar is the coolest. Don't waste your time at the lame hipster bars in the area. no fun and too expensive. Pros: beer, pizza, wings more

Cool Night In Tribeca! 7/15/2010

I met some friends last week in Tribeca, and after going to some lack luster and over priced bars in the area we arrived at the Tribeca Tavern. I always thought of my self as well educated when it came to beer, until I came here. This place had over a hundred different beers. The bartender put me on to a new beer they were serving there called Racer 5, I was shocked about how good it was. The pizza is amazing! and the kitchen is open all night. Cool place to go grab a few drinks and even shoot some pool. Definitely recommend it. Pros: pizza, beer selection more

Read The Fine Print 5/5/2009

Until recently, I'd frequent the Tribeca Tavern for a few cocktails after work. Initially, it was a place of enjoyment- happy hour until 7 PM, great music selection and interesting people to chat with. However, happy hour is now from 5-6PM, and drinks are ridiculously overpriced (I was charged $9 for a watered down Jameson's). Mixed drinks are $8 and up; beer is $5 & up. The internet jukebox is constantly taken over by the Cheech Marin looking bartender, who loads it with tons of country music (if you're into country music, then this is the place for you). Once a place for young professionals to unwind after work, it?s now the gathering place for barely legal college students (The Art Institute is a few blocks away). The service has gone downhill. The wait time for a drink is about 20 minutes, which is partially due to the sophomoric ""Cheech"" wannabe bartender, who spends more time gossiping vociferously about every patron, than he does pouring a drink. Despite the neon sign screaming ""Eath & Drink"" lunch has only recently made an appearance, being served from 12-3 PM. The food is typical pub food. Want a hot meal? Go someplace else. If you're looking for drama, overpriced drinks & gossip, well then this is the place for you . If not, and you're just looking to unwind- skip this place. There are a few places around the vicinity I'd check out instead. Pros: Wide beer selection Cons: over priced; pretentious gossiping bartender more

recession proof 10/21/2008

In a time where money is low so are these prices. The happy hour is exceptional. pitchers are only $10. For a pretentious downtown area this bar retains a exceptional beer list and a great food menu for very moderate prices. The staff is fast and friendly. The crowd was very diversified, made you feel right at home. One of the best beer selections in NYC. Also one of the only places that serves food past 2am. Pros: Beer list and friendly staff Cons: small bathroom more

Horrible food, good beer selection, lousy staff 8/26/2008

I admit it was a busy happy hour....but we were served our food and the server never came back... the fries were cold, sandwiches mediocre and overpriced. Beer selection good but not exceptional for NYC... i wouldn't recommend anyone order anything but beer... Pros: beer selection Cons: food is horrible and overpriced more

Good substitute to pretentious, unfriendly and overpriced Brandy ""Library"" 9/11/2007

After being kicked out from pretentious and pricey Brandy Library (my bankers, lawyers and media friends werent ""cool"" enough to be served drinks unless they post $500), we went to this place. The service was friendly, seats comfortable, nice outdoor view, and great selection of beers from Belgium to Brooklyn... We can't wait to go for the next happy hour Pros: Lounge, Price more

great selection and atmosphere 8/27/2007

The beer selection here is excellent. Not only can you get fancy seasonals and IPAs here for the cheap, but you can switch it up with the delectable lower end beers such as PBR as well. Don't discount that this place also has a fantastic selection of liquor and cocktails. The atmosphere is great and the space is roomy and relaxing. This tavern has it all, even sports on tv. One of the best places to grab a drink in NYC. Pros: beer selection, cost, atmosphere Cons: tribeca is a ghost town more

Great Happy Hour 12/21/2006

I met a few friends at Tribeca Tavern on a Thursday night for happy hour. The staff was incredibly friendly. They had $3 Yuengling and PBR drafts and domestic bottles. There is plenty of room for a small crowd of people with tables along the sides and a pool table on one end. I'll be back... Pros: happy hour, friendly staff and plenty of space Cons: narrow more

awesome atmosphere 9/15/2006

Just moved to Tribeca from uptown and this place is great. Met up with a few friends and make a point to visit usually once a week. Go here if you're tired of payin $15 for a beer at those trendy places. But leave the trend at home. This bar is made for people who like to be themselves. Pros: $10 PBR pitchers more

My friend and I are from Dallas and found this place when we hit NY 2 years ago. We eended up there 3 nights in a row and had a blast. Great staff (Sal is awesome), great food, just a really fun place to hang out. Can't wait to go back again, and have recommended it to all our friends. more

late night fun at tribeca tavern 7/27/2005

I stumbled upon this place at 3 in the morning, i was looking for a place to get a bite to eat and tribeca tavern was the only place that was open. Not only was the bar and kitchen open but it was still buzzing with people. They also had an enormous selection of beer to choose from, it was hard to choose what to drink but i wanted to try something different so I had a sea dog bluberry ale. I highly reccomend this place to anybody who is looking to have some late night fun. Pros: friendly people more

We live in Maine and feel like part of the neighborhood when we visit. Jason and Sal made us feel like regulars. We have been to the tavern a dozen times in two years and were greeted by name the second time there. Great pizza and burgers, excellent drinks and 80 different brews. Reasonable prices and friendly people. Eclectic atmosphere and patrons from all walks of life. Pros: pool table, great juke box, Feels like home more

Great food and atmosphere! 7/22/2004

I found this little gem almost by accident while wandering around Tribeca. The pizza is outstanding! At least as good as anything you'll find in Little Italy. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and great value by NYC standards. Will go again the next time I'm in New York! more

Cool Place 7/19/2004

Very cool little tavern with style. Good beer. Friendly owner. Will definitely go back again. more

Great Place 12/25/2002
