Great staff 4/12/2012

We had a went here with our puppy for the first time, we waited a few minutes while my mom filled out paperwork and then were seen. My puppy was not eating enough so she recommended to switch her suggestion of food. My baby was a member of the empty plate club tonight! We were seen by dr. Lee, she was fantastic and answered our endless stream of questions! She put us on some vacines and gave us very good advice . The lady at the front desk helped us decide on a name for our baby girl (Lola)We are going to spray our puppy here instead of the original destination, because she is a little afraid and we were impressed by the way they handled our baby girl. more

My Dog LOVES it Here! 9/13/2011

I've been coming to this wonderful vet hospital for 6 years now and highly recommend this facility. My little pup, Fluffy (I know - such a typical name, but he is really a fluff of fur!) LOVES it here! Everyone that we've met here has been very kind, loving and professional. He has seen all of the vets here and they have all been great! They have even all called me at various times to check in on how he was doing after his neuter, when he had the runs several times and especially after he had to stay there overnight. I was so worried, but I truly trust them with my baby and knew that he was in very very good hands. Would highly recommend this place! more

wonderful animal hospital 8/10/2011

We've been seeing Dr. Yoshida for our pets for several years and we love her! She is very gentle and sweet, and a wonderful vet. She removed a tumor from our dog recently and we can't even find the scar! Some of our friends see her too, and they all love her! We love the staff too. They are all very nice, but Jenny and Peter are our favorite. It is a bit pricey, but we highly recommend this hospital. more

Great care for your pets! 2/1/2011

Dr. Koprowski and the staff at Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital are the best! They have cared for my Boxer on numerous occasions and always shown empathy, knowledge, experience and trust. I have been to MANY other vets in NYC and Long Island and this place is unsurpassed. Every visit is a pleasant one and I know I can trust them to give my dog the BEST care without charging me for unnecessary test/medication/procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Koprowski and Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital! more

Almost like family at this point 1/23/2011

I have been taking my cats to Tribeca Soho from just about the time they opened in a small walkup around the corner in a building that has since been torn down and replaced by an upscale restaurant. I also used to live just three blocks away but several years ago I moved far uptown and I STILL use them as my vet, I simply stick a cat into a carrier, sling it over my shoulder and hop onto the train. I have many cats and specialise in geriatric/special needs Persians and so my veterinary needs run the gamut from a quick check up to spaying/neutering to serious surgery and it includes palliative care. I have always found the vets to be first class. I gravitate to Dr. Koprowski as she and I share similar personality traits but feel comfortable with whomever is on duty should it be a crisis. The techs are first class, the nurses as well, the place is clean as can be and the front desk is pleasant and efficient. There seems to be lower than average turnover (apart the regrettable loss of the redoubtable Sharon at the gate) and I like consistency in medical care. They are able to do much of the testing in house so you don't have to wait forever for results and an ultra-sound person comes in twice a week so you don't have to schlepp to other facilities except for really specialised tests. Those reviewers who are wincing at the cost--I feel your pain. You have no idea. But I don't think they are any more expensive than equal calibre vets and I don't trust my animals anywhere else. Wonderful Experience with my pet 1/21/2011

I have brought my companion to the Tribeca animal hospital for the past 8 years. Each time I have brought my companion in to see the vets (specifically Dr. Koprowski, she's excellent and her pedigree says it all) they have been both thorough and kind during my babys exam. \r I have been a pet owner for a long time and I think Im able to tell the difference between animal lovers and people who just want a job. Everyone from the reception staff to the medical staff have an obvious love and appreciation for pets and this puts my mind at ease everytime. \r I couldnt disagree more about pricing, 1. you really get what you pay for in life and thats something I wouldnt bend on especially when it comes to my pet who is also considered family. The prices at the Tribeca location are comparable if not cheaper than the other surrounding vet hospitals. \r Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital and its employees have been consistently amazing . Very personable animal lovers work there and it makes me and my animal companion feel very safe and secure. \r ***ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT THIS HOSPITAL is that they offer 24 hr nursing care. What people dont know (what I didnt know until I did my research) is that most small animal hsopitals still do not have overnight care for patients: this means that you are asked to leave your pet overnight and there is no one there to monitor the pet, crazy but true. If owners dont ask most vets wont tell. BUT at Tribeca they have had mandatory overnight nursing along with a vet on call to monitor pets until morning staff arrives. This was VERY BIG DEAL for me and it showed how much the hospital cared about its clients and their pets! more

Best Vet! 4/27/2010

Dr. Martel is the best vet I've ever had, and I've had animals my whole life. He is an excellent diagnostician, very caring and sensitive to the animal, and great at communicating to the pet owner what is going on. I was lucky to find him. My cat lived to be 20 years of age. I am sure Dr. Martel's excellent care had alot to do with that. Before I found him, we had taken our cat to several New York city vets, none of them compare. I highly recommend him. Your pet is in good hands with Dr. Martel! Pros: Great diagnostician, very caring with pet more

Do your homework. 1/22/2010

Be careful. Ask around the neighborhood if there have been incidents there; we found many including the death of a young pet under their care. more

Watch out for pricey care 4/20/2009

I have owned a dog my entire life - 6 dogs in total over the last 25 years. I have to say, I have never been to a vet where I have paid so much money. If you're not careful, they will completely take advantage of you. I use to go to a vet on the upper east side and moved down here so found this place since they were close by. In the last year, I have paid over $2,000 in vet bills, for a perfectly healthy dog. Every time I go in, there seems to be yet another ""test"" or something I need to pay for, thing I never even heard of or look up when I get home that are not needed for my pet. While there, they give you no warning as to the cost of things - like this is going to cost ""so and so."" When I ask, I get a vague answer until I see the bill. They don't logically tell you what to expect, and do not watch out for the customer, they just try to make their money. Everytime I have been in there waiting there have been complaints from others about their bill - and I have never been somewhere where I have heard so much complaining. I had my dog's annual shots one year, they gave him 2, then made me come back a month later for the other 3 (I don't know to this day why they couldn't do them all at once). For the last 10 years he would get them all at once - why would they make me come back? Everytime I have been in there has been an instance like this - poor planning on their part to get me back and paying for another visit. While the vet staff is friendly, there is poor planning and bad customer service at the front desk. Take it from someone who has owned pets many years and knows a thing or two about their care - you are getting ripped off here. There are too many other caring vets in the city with more affordable care. It just makes me sad that in this economy, vet places are not taking into consideration logical steps to help people save money. I am saddened by others who get duped, and then end up having to give away their pets because care for them is so pricey. I hope others do not fall into this trap. more

Great Vet 12/3/2008

We have been taking our puppy to Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital since the first week we had him, and they have done a fabulous job. We have seen almost all of the veterinarians there, and they are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They are very reliable and always follow up. Pros: Open on Saturdays and Sundays more

Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital is a great place to bring your pet to. 10/10/2008

I've been coming to Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital for last five years and I haven?t really had a bad experience there besides occasional long wait for the visit. Dr. Martel had been my doctor for a while and after he left I started seeing dr. Lee. Both doctors were always very pleasant and professional and I can?t say anything bad about them. I was very sad to loose dr. Martel as Sandy?s vet, but dr. Lee happened to be as great. I love most of the staff I dealt with, they always seam very compassionate and carrying. \r I would definitely recommend the hospital to anyone. \r Pros: Professional and carying staff more

Caring, Knowledgeable Docs 7/21/2008

I've been taking our kitties to this vet group since about 2003 and have always found the doctors to be caring and knowledgeable. When I first went there, our two beloved old cats were reaching the end of their very long lives and had all kinds of health issues. The Tribeca SoHo docs helped them to be more comfortable in those final years, and when the end came for both (ages 17 and 20, respectively), they could not have shown more compassion. There was nothing ""routine"" about their treatment of us or our cats. Now we have two young kitties, and they helped both through some early digestive problems. Although we now live in Brooklyn, I'm finding it hard to switch vets because of the level of trust I've built up with Tribeca SoHo Animal Hospital.\r \r Caveats: 1. It's often very busy in the waiting room, and you might be cooling your heels for a while. 2. Fees are on the high side, but that's probably true throughout the metro area. 3. On rare occasions the front-desk staff has been a bit brusque with me and not entirely accommodating. But I'd still recommend this vet group to anyone. Pros: Competence and professionalism of doctors Cons: sometimes long waits more

Thought you should know 3/10/2008

The Tribeca/Soho Animal Hospital by far will provide you with great service for your pet. They will run ever test imaginable and charge you accordingly. I am sure they even screened my dog for the ebola virus. Most of the time they will perform and take bloodtests and treat you like an inhumane owner/parent if you don't follow up on every quiver your animal makes while in the office. As a dog owner for over 8 years I have found them to be more of alarmists. Maybe I just saw the wrong doctor at the wrong time. Maybe they are just a young crew and do not have enough years under their belts. What they lack is common sense and if you know that going into the visit and have them be specific about every thing they charge you BEFORE they do it, then you should have a lovely experience. more

This is the place for anyone with a pet! Very professional staff and service! 4/16/2007

Very friendly staff that adored my beloved frenchie, Boris. They provided great customer service. I was so worried about my baby. He went into shaking bouts and would not eat. I didn't know what was wrong with him, but the people here put me at ease. Dr. Martel took his time to talk to me and explained his condition. They were so concerned that they wanted to keep him in the hospital to observe him and to run some tests. When I went to pick him up he was back to his normal self - shaking his butt and all! His problem resolved quickly with medication dispensed directly from the hospital and I am very happy with the results. The vet also followed up with me the next day with laboratory results. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a pet!! Pros: Great staff, great hours and convenient location more
