After a long history of fighting with my naturally curly, but boring hair, Benjamin came into my life gave me the best cut ever! We talked about what I liked/didn't like & picked a cut we both thought would work. He is a miracle worker. Now I get stopped by strangers who ask me who my stylist is because they love my hair so much. I have been going back for the past 2 years & in that time Benjamin & I have shared stories, laughed & cried while he was working his magic. Can't imagine going to anyone else! more

I have been getting my hair done from Benjamin for about six years now and I have never been let down. He gives me a fabulous cut and color every time. He listens to what you have to say and then works with you to create a look that will look amazing but still be healthy for your hair, never pushing you to do something that you are uncomfortable with. I have referred numerous friends from college and co-workers here because I always get compliments on my hair and people want to know where I get it done. And I thought that I had a good stylist at Juut! Decided to shop for a new stylist, my colorist referred me to Craig at Tres Jolie ... best referral I've had in a long time! The cut is incredibly easy to style. The blow out was fabulous - glamorously casual, and it held for 2 days - maybe longer if I could go without washing for more than that. The salon has a great energy to it, and everyone is super nice. Great experience and happy to have found a new stylist without any drama or trauma. : ) more

Just when you think that extensions are for only for girls, think again! I have fine thin and short hair. I heard of a technique for hair like mine where someone can ""tie"" in strand by strand ! At first I was thnking I'd be there for 24 hours with only strand by strand. I had 600 new hairs in 1.5 hours!!!! My hair feels thicker and styles way better. I will definitely be keeping this up! I can finally style my hair the way I want to. Melissa is the best! more

I went to Tres Jolie for the first time in search for someone who could help me to fix the bad color another colourist in the city had put in my hair. I had total ashy hair and Sarah was able to fix the color and give me a nice, not exceptional, color.\r However, my last experience with her was terrifying! \r I went to Tres Jolie in September to have my color done once more with Sarah and cut with James. I asked for a caramel color with light honey highlights. I told her I had a very important event in DC in that week and I really needed to look good.\r Sarah ended up doing the exact same thing the previous colourist did to my hair! I end up with orange roots and ashy/green ends. I left the salon and was in panic; and thought about going to see someone else. But, since she had done a good job the first time, I thought about giving her another chance. So I went back to Tres Jolie (lost another day at work) and sat in her chair for 3 hours. She promised she would fix my hair, however, after 3 hours and tons of products, my hair was exactly the same. Extremely ashy in the ends, totally different from the roots. I looked absolutely ridiculous. I got so depressed, especially because of the event I had to attend the day after. I flew all the way to DC and could not go to the event as I was ashamed of my hair. It was ruined, ruined. It really killed my self esteem. I cried for the 3 days I was in DC and did not want to get out of the hotel. \r James did a good job with the cut; however, I will never go back to Tres Jolie. It seems other colourist do a good job with color from the reviews I see here. However, I would not recommend Sarah. more

Thanks to Craig for another amazing color and cut. I walked it feeling like a burned out mom and came out feeling like a hot momma! I have been using Craig Weitz for several years. He is by far the best stylist in Minneapolis, MN... and in my opinion the world!!! I was never able to have my hair as long and thick as I desired. However, thanks to Craig and his hair extensions I have exactly what I have dreamed of all my life. In addition, Craig has given me the best hair color I have ever had. He is so talented at choosing color that fits your skin tone. With the results being very bright and youthful looking. Craig is a true artist!!! My extensions and hair color look so amazing that my family and long time friends keep telling me how great my hair looks, but have no idea that I have extensions. Everyday, I think WOW another great hair day:) more

Just received my third set of extensions (first two were Great Lengths-whose hair quality went to pot-third set was Extend Your Beauty).Craig Weitz is the best thing to happen to Tres Jolie! Craig did my first extension install. He did an amazing job of blending them into my natural hair (which is where the real skill comes in), and over-filled with the expectation that yes, you will lose some, but let's not compromise the fullness! My second set of extensions was done with another stylist at another salon. The cost savings came at the expense of less hair. Knowing you're going to lose some, you can't afford to skimp on the hair in the beginning. Went back to Craig for this last install. The results are nothing short of amazing! I had been worried that my natural hair may have been compromised by all these extensions (read too many horror stories) but it was healthier than ever! And getting longer too! Craig works wonders...again, he over-filled. I have an amazing FULL head of hair again! And nobody would ever be able to tell it's not my hair! I'm addicted! And nobody knows extensions like Craig! more

I was impressed with my first experience at Tres Jolie. Benjamin was welcoming. He took the time to talk with me about my previous hairstyles and what I was currently looking for. The salon team had a great vibe, as well. They were all very friendly toward me and got along well with each other. Benjamin gave me a great cut that fit my personality, style, and face shape. His technique of layering my short hair really helped give it a textured, full look without using a razor-- it was great!! I received compliments right after leaving the salon! more

My experience with Tres Jolie took place about two years ago but someone recently prompted me to write a review. I can understand it has been a long time but the experience I had at this salon was stuck with me and honestly was the worst I have ever experienced. Once I arrived at the salon everyone was friendly and professional. The problem I had was specific to my stylist Ben. He did not listen to what I asked for and seemed very preoccupied with himself talking to me about his personal relationships and the problems he was having with his family at the time. I was 28 at the time and I had a few gray hairs floating around my head. I told him I was aware of this in a joking manor, then he proceeded to ask me seriously ""How does it feel to be going grey at YOUR age?"" I was really taken a back and honestly hurt. The cut was not worth the money and he really did not do anything fantastic. After leaving, I was really shocked at how unprofessional he was and of course disappointed that after reading all of his raving reviews my cut was not up to par for a professional, it was more like a student had just cut my hair. more

I've been looking for a new stylist since my previous one quit to take care of her growing family. I read all the reviews and figured to give Tres Jolie a shot and I am not disappointed! When I called they recommended Benjamin because I have a super short pixie cut. more

O.k., so here's the story. I had long, thick, wavy, shiny, lots of compliments, hair. Never did anything with it, except get a layered cut and washed it once or twice a week. Well, in life, nothing lasts forever, and my hair was no exception...it started falling out ALOT. Fortunately, turned out to be temporary loss, but as it got thinner, I decided I did not want to keep my long layered look. I was very hesitant to get a short cut, because I have an angular face shape, and in the past, short cuts had only emphasized my facial faults. One day, I finally bit the bullet and cut 10 inches off. I got a short angled cut. It looked good when straightened, but as I said, I have naturally wavy hair, so in order for the cut to look half way decent, I had to flat iron. As I quickly learned after three such styling sessions, flat iron = damage! Now my hair was not only not as thick as it was, but it was losing its shine and soft texture. Unfortunately, without straightening, it just adopted a triangle shape (not good considering my aforementioned angular face shape) - my hair was still thick, even if it had thinned some, and it would just poof out on the sides. Well, I decided I would reserve ""half way decent"" for special occassions, and let myself be triangle head the rest of the time. Since my hair never looked good, I stopped bothering to do my makeup, wear contacts, or even dress nice to work or anywhere else. Basically, I let my outward appearance go, because what was the point, when my hair always looked horrible. What to do...I went online looking for a new salon to try, and ran across Tres Jolie and lasered in on Benjamin's profile (specialized in short cuts and pays attention to face shape). When I got in the chair, he convinced me to go even shorter, and I was hesistant but figured, ""what do I have to lose at this point."" He pointed out that triangle shape hair is a problem with short cuts when they're not done properly. He was also conscious of the fact that I don't regularly style it and just wanted something I could wash and go. He said the cut he would give me would look even better after a few days of not washing. He was right. About just about everything! This is the first short cut I've ever had that compliments my face shape, and that I've ever been happy with. and I've gotten a ton of compliments on it! One of the best parts: I don't have to damage my hair anymore in order for it to look good. I just wash and go, or not wash it and go. I'm back to feeling like I have the potential to look good again, on a daily basis, instead of just on rare occassions. Highly recommend Tres Jolie and Benjamin! more

What an experience! First of all parking is awful - I had to park two blocks away. I should have just kept driving! Then I went in, the salon is beautiful, but the front desk girls - ESPECIALLY ASHLEY! Awful :) she is so snooty. Talks like a valley girl - she is the blonde, you will know right away who I am talking about. Not a good first impression! However they got really good reviews, so I gave them a chance. I had a consultation with Spencer and Matt. Spencer for color and Matt for a cut. I had not read any reviews on either of them and I voiced my concern. ASHLEY snootily informed me that that was because they had been there too long to ask for reviews. I bought it. Hindsight, I should have looked further OR asked for one of the stylists I had read good reviews on. My color is now mousey blonde - nothing special AT ALL! AND then I get a trim - not a cut, nothing different like they promised, AND Matt styled my hair like Michelle Obamas. I have naturally curly hair - WHAT? The part I am most upset about, and the reason I am taking the time to write this review is because I took the time to go home and play with my hair. When I realized I was still unhappy I called back to talk to a manager. ASHLEY answered :) She said the owners were busy with clients but she would have one of them call me back. I was okay with that, I realize they are busy. 10 minutes later ASHLEY called me back - I asked her if she was the manager - she said 'yes'. Really?!? Then why didn't she just say so in the beginning? How insulting! She - with her condescending voice - said they were going to refund all my money ""I hope you have a great hair experience from now on"" WHAT?!? If you choose to go to tres jolie, I hope you have a great hair experience :) I did not - and I am very insulted by the fact that an owner was there and could not himself call me back at a later time. Trust me there are WAY cheaper, nicer places to go in the cities. I might just write an article about them after this experience :) more

I phoned Tres Jolie to make an appointment with Dusty, who has been doing my hair for 8 years - only to find out that Dusty left & wasn't available to do women's hair any longer. :( So, after reviewing their Web site and talking to the person on the phone, I decided to make an appointment with Benjamin. To be honest, I thought about canceling and going elsewhere, but I am so happy I kept the appointment! This place is great. Benjamin listened to what I wanted and asked questions to further educate himself on what kind of time I put into my hair, etc. I am very low maintenance with my hair and I pretty much only have one requirement - he took all of this into consideration to create a great cut. I love it and am SUPER happy that I have found my new stylist. I will definitely be back to see Benjamin!!! more

Dusty was newest addition to the tres jolie but it was obvious that he has ample experience as a stylist!! I went to tres jolie over 4 months ago, and now that I have grown my hair out, Dusty is who I have to go see!!! He does wonders at personalizing a style for your face. I didn't have to bring a picture or anything, but he created an amazing cut that looked great on me and gave my hair a lot of natural bounce. I won't go to see anyone else! more
