I have been in glasses since I was in 5th grade and contacts since high school. I have always been so jealous of people that can just go to bed at night :) Falling asleep without fear of not being able to open my eyes in the morning because I didn't take out my contacts! I had always considered Lasik but was told I should wait until my mid 20's. My dad recently switched jobs and his new company did not want to take me on as an insurance dependent when it came to vision and dental care (rude!). Not having contacts or glasses was not an option, and being that I am 25 and putting myself through grad school, paying out of pocket was an even bigger no no. I brought up the idea of Lasik to my parents and they thought at this point in my life it would be a great thing to check out....AND I AM SO GLAD I DID! My vision is clear, focused, precise, I no longer get headaches and can fall asleep at night still able to see the television show I am watching! Doctor Travers and her staff made this procedure even more wonderful with their friendly demeanor, knowledgeable answers to my questions, and genuine care and concern for my needs. I wouldn't send my friends or family anywhere else! The snacks and water bottles in the waiting room, however....may have been my favorite part :) aside from the surgery of course! I've been wearing glasses for 43 years. When I could afford contacts, went that route, but my work generally was just too dirty of an environment to wear them, so I was limited to the glasses most of the time. Finally had enough, and decided to look into the lasik. Was nervous, but had several personal friends who had it done, and some of those had it done by Lori Travers. Did the free exam, and was told that it was an excellent proposition for me. Had the surgery on 1-9-14, and have been thrilled with the results. Man, the world sure is different when you can see clearly. I should end up with 20/15 vision once it finalizes. Minimal discomfort immediately after the surgery, but that fades pretty quickly. Follow their instructions, and it is virtually trouble free. I found the staff to be very friendly, and they explained everything to me very thoroughly, which helped with any nervousness I had. My only regret is that I couldn't get it done 25 years ago. Now, if I could just quit pushing up my glasses, or trying to take out my contacts before I go to bed....... more

I started out wanting Lasik because i could no longer wear my nice sunglasses and the fact that i had to keep switching between glasses and contacts always worring about having one or the other with me. I'm a K-9 Officer and carring a firearm and the possibility of having to use it is always real. i had Lasik on 1-17-14 and the day after and since i have tested at 20/15. i had some discomfort for about the first hour but after that no problems at all, follow your treatment plan and you should have no problems. its so nice to open my eyes in the morning and see the alarm clock or watch TV and see the channel menu..A big thanks to Lori and her great staff. I wore contact lenses for well over 20 years. I developed an allergy to contact lenses and had to go back to wearing glasses over 5 years ago. I really wanted to have the LASIK surgery for a while but I was really apprehensive about it as I am also a Photographer and worried about how that would affect what I see through my optic view on my camera while I am shooting for my clients. I didn't need my glasses to see thru by camera but I had to have my glasses there to look up and see distances or talk with clients about posing and give directions. It was very frustrating to go back and forth taking them on and off constantly. I had my procedure on January 2nd this year and didn't pick up my camera for 2 weeks because I was anxious about what I was going to see. My daily vision was amazing from the very first day after surgery and my first two visits back showed that I had 20~15 vision. WOW. So, I finally picked up my camera and adjusted my optic view for my new corrected vision and I was immediately amazed at how crystal clear the images I was seeing and shooting were through my camera lens. I only wish I had decided to do this earlier in my life.\r Sherri more

I have worn glasses since I was in the 3rd grade. I had such bad astigmatism that I really could not function without my glasses. I had both eyes done on 31 Oct. Now I can see 20/20 or maybe a bit better. (I need to schedule my 1 month followup but I am a slacker.) Everyone at Travers was so nice and Dr. Travers was great to work with and she did great work on my eyes! The actual procedure only lasted about 10-15 minutes max and it was so worth it. I wish I had done it 10 years ago! more

I had my Lasik procedure done on both eyes done Nov. 22nd. So far so good! I still can't believe I can see without my contacts or glasses. The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Even during the follow up exams the staff answered every question and left nothing to the imagination. This is an A+ facility thru and thru. more

I just had both of my eye serviced with Travers Lasik. My entire experience was unbelievably thorough. The staff were super chipper. They catered to my needs and truly seemed to care about my well-being. My vision is perfect now and I have no other reason to return to Travers, but I will truly miss this experience. 20/20 Vision again. For the longest, I have worn glasses but now no longer. I rarely used contact lenses when I was younger, but remained with glasses. I found it aggravating to ride my motorcycle with glasses on under an helmet, and being unable to wear shades. Thanks to Travers Lasik, I'm back to my original roots. I am a recent patient as of October 2013. I continually reach for my glasses wanting to push em up, however I will get use to them being gone soon. Feels good to wake up and enjoy day now. I had a great experience at travers lasik. I had the PRK done on sept 6 and am kicking myself for not having this procedure done sooner. I have wore contacts for 16 years and was told at my last eye exam the contacts were damaging my eyes and I would have to wear glasses.that's when I looked into having lasiks done. I chose travers lasiks because they had such great reviews and at my consultation everyone was so helpful and nice. And later that day after my consultation Dr. TRAVERS personally called me to introduce herself and asked me how the consultation went and how she was sorry she did not meet me before I left.And because of the friendly staff and the great experience at had at the consultation I knew this was the right place. So before the surgery I wore a -7.75 contacts a very strong prescription. And now I am see 20/20 and it feels so great I see better now then when I did use corrected lenses and I love waking up and seeing everything so clear and not having to put contacts in. So I would highly recommended travers lasiks more

I'm writing this review for my husband Alan Denton who had monovision on Aug.16th, 2013 and he is super happy with it! He said Dr. Travers and her staff were the best and made it all so relaxing for him. He was just putting up lights in our shop and said for the first time in years I could look up and do the electric without worrying about glasses. I love the fact when we go to a restaurant he is not asking me for some glasses to read the menu. I had Lasik done in June at Travers Lasik. I couldn't be more happy with my eyes. They're prefect! My husband and I went on a cruise in July for my 40th birthday and everything was clear as crystal. I am typing on a computer for the first time in over seven years without glasses. The only reason that is possible is my surgery with Travers Lasik. The doctors and staff of Travers Lasik have impressed me from the time they scheduled my initial exam to the completion of my surgery. They are very welcoming and professional. I must admit the best part of my experience was the surgery. Dr. Lori Travers took the time to explain to me exactly what was happening, what I needed to do and what was about to happen. She clearly explained what I should expect during and after the surgery. In my opinion she completely undersold the results. I would absolutely refer my family and friends to Travers Lasik! more

Should have done this sooner! Had monovision LASIK yesterday and now my up-close vision is great! Love that I don't need glasses when reading anymore and my only complaint is that I didn't know all the facts sooner. There really is no reason not to get LASIK. Very pleased already! more

Dr. Travers is the most experienced in the Triangle, with reasonable rates and on-site equipment. She helped me to see for the first time in 28 years.
