When we first moved to Boulder, Colorado in December 2006, we explored a lot of new restaurants in Boulder and we wanted to share our experience at Trattoria on Pearl Street Mall so that nobody has to suffer through the same nightmare. If you come as a small party (party of two), you can expect a very slow and terrible service. My husband and I got there about 10 minutes before a big party came in, and since then we seemed to be invisible to the waiter. We didn't order any wine so the waiter probably figured out that his tip from us wouldn't be as much as the bigger party, who ordered wine and all kind of food. The waiter was obviously all over the big party and totally ignored us. Their bread came out before ours even though they arrived after us. And we had to 'ask' for our bread!! The service was very slow and every time the waiter came around, he went straight pass us to the bigger party. My husband and I eat out all the time because we appreciate food and good service, and we're big tippers!! However, we only left less than 10% tip at this place even thought the waiter deserved no tip!! If you want great Italian food with much better service (and better food!!), go to Antica Roma a couple blocks down the road. We go there all the time and never set foot in Trattoria again!!
Pros: Good for big party that orders lots of wine and expensive food (the waiter will be all over you!!)
Cons: Horrible service for party of two (especially if you don't order any wine)
