Worst

I took my old auro there and needless to say i was taken by surprised that i needed a transmission. i had just bought the car a couple of weeks ago and now my car is still sitting...

RUN from this place!!! 11/1/2012

Started off w/$649 to replace gearshift control cables to fix the problem w/my PT Cruiser coming out of 5th gear. Picked car up, messed up less than 2 mi out of the shop. Took it back the next week, they supposedly looked at it and recommended that we either rebuild or replace the transmission. We chose a replacement given that it was less expensive. Picked up the car after the 1st replacement...popped out of 5th less than 6 hours after getting it. Had to call back the next morning (a Sat). Took it back to get looked at again the next week. They comped the replacement of the replacement transmission plus the rental. Picked it up on 10-26 (Fri) right before 5 pm. Had it a few hours and 3rd and 4th gears started whining (my car had NEVER done this at all before). Around 5 pm on Sat, it popped out of 5th again. Had to wait to call Monday (10-29). Spoke to Wendy who was less than nice this time (of course, they already had $1900 of my money) and she said to bring it in Tuesay. I had to get some errands done (close to home). Got in the car and it sounded like it was going to fall apart. 1st gear had grinding and whining and as I shifted into other gears (being careful and easy with it), it sounded horrible. I was afraid to drive it. Took it to Ace Transmissions and upon looking, the ground cable wire wasn't connected to transmission AND it was dripping transmission fluid. AND upon further inspection after the transmission was pulled, Transmission Corp NEVER even replaced the transmission once, let alone twice. I am now almost 32 weeks pregnant (this started when I was about 28 weeks along) and they have knowingly put myself, my unborn son, my 5 year old son AND my husband in danger by misrepresenting what they were going to do to my car and letting me drive off from their lot three different times with a car that could have had a seized transmission at any time! Please do not risk your safety AND your money with these dishonest people!!! more

Bad Service and Knowledge 2/15/2012

I found this company online through google. I had my Dakota towed there one morning after talking to Angel over the phone. They took my transmission apart and ran diagnostics to determine what was wrong. When I came in to get the report, I noticed the report was for a transmission that is not on my particular Dakota. After pointing this out, Wendy told me the components were the same (torque converter, filters, transmission oil pump, ext.) and the numbers were pulled to match my transmission and even though the transmission listed was not mine, they were the same component-wise. They had listed to replace an external transmission filter also, but here is the thing... my transmission doesn't even have an external transmission filter. The quote was for around $3,400 for a rebuild. After pointing out that my vehicle did not even have an external filter, Angel went in the back to verify if I was right, which I knew I was. Angel then proceeded to tell me I was right, which took me talking to two people to be reassured. Angel then looked up my correct transmission (42rle, and not the 545rfe I was told was the same) and how much the repairs would cost. It totalled to almost $2,700. This is $700 less than what they were originally trying to charge me. Had they originally taken two minutes to verify I was right in the first place (instead of telling me the components were the same and cost would be the same for both transmisisons) it would have been fine, but she insisted parts were the same. If I had known nothing about my transmission, I would have overpaid $700 and part of this would have been for a part that my vehicle did not even have. I am taking my business elsewhere. I can't trust a company to rebuild something so major and give me a reasonable price after they ensured me that my transmission needed something that is non-existant. more

so far so good 9/5/2011

Have not used them yet, but Wendy answered the phone when they were closed for labor day and said they would diagnose our car's problem for no charge. firestone up the street wanted to charge us 99.00 just to tell us what's wrong. Dave Ramsey's endorsement means a lot to me. more
