Tranquil Timbers, Crabby Front Desk Person 10/12/2008

I have to agree with the stinky of the porta potties and the RUDE way we were treated. We prepaid and then 2 weeks later we checked in. They could not find that we paid. Wound up paying by credit card again. When I got home, found that we had 2 withdrawals made from our account and both prices were different. It is the middle of October and we still have not received refund. The check-in person was extremely rude. In fact, as all the kids in our very large group called her the Crabby Lady. And I witnessed this with several people, people that were not even in our group. She made everyone uncomfortable. She should be fun and kind, especially at a place that you look forward to having a good time. From the moment we got there until we left, she was mean. I think she hated her job. Maybe she should have cleaned the porta potties instead! We go to campgrounds so that we can have a hot shower and toilets. We pay for that convenience. There were 3 showers in the whole campground for the women, and they were dirty along with the three toilets. GROSS! We also were never told that the other bathroom was not working. more

Sticking Up For The Portapotty Guy 8/2/2008

I agree with the person complaining about the portapotties and lack operational batherooms. We were lucky to get there when the portapotty guy was cleaning and was really doing a great job! We asked him why they were so stincky before he got there? He explained that they were getting more use than intended and that was hard to keep up with, especially with the way people were treating his ""personal property"".We were amazed at how he transformed those dirty things into freshly cleaned ""restrooms"". I guess I,m sticking for the portapotty guy because of what Isaw he had to go through. It really is the campgrounds responsibility to pay for more portapotty service and fix their bathrooms. all in all our kids had a good time, but next time I think we are going to stay at Jellystone in Little Sturgeon. Pros: nice pool Cons: noisy at night more

Do not stay there. They don't have working toilets! And the employees are rude! 7/21/2008

DON'T STAY THERE! They didn't have working toilets. We spent two nights using porta-potties...dirty porta-potties. When we made the reservations, they didn't even tell us the toilets hadn't been working since April. When we brought that fact to their attention, they were rude to us. It was a terrible experience. If you want to spend a weekend smelling foul feces, then I highly recommend the place. Oh, and if you want the pleasure of spending $70 dollars to be treated like feces, then you'll LOVE it there. However, if you are looking for clean, flushing toilets and friendly service, I would stay at another campground. Seriously. When you think of Tranquil Timbers, think feces. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more
