These people are amazing!!! They're constantly letting you know what they're doing to the car through email or phoning!!! Extremely cordial and friendly service!!! Will give you in detail what they're doing what needs to be done and the price even if it's a ballpark figure!!! I've dealt with many mechanics and many people that fix cars but no one goes out of their way these people do!!! They have been a business a long time and I understand now that they really care about their customers!!! I highly recommend to anyone to make sure that you become one of their friends!!! They definitely have more integrity!!! And this day and age that's very difficult to find!!! I had a Volvo with a messed up transmission that wasn't working. Tramcar Transmission Specialists fixed it for me and I haven't had any problems since they worked on it. I'm very satisfied with their work. This was my first time working with them, but I would go back again. It would be nice if I could get a bit of a discount next time because the price was a little on the up side. Tramcar Transmission Specialists are very honest with their pricing. They did not try to upsell me for work not needed on my car! Their communication was really open, giving me updates on the progress of work, where they were in that process, and if any changes or new problems arose. They completed the work on my car exactly when they said it would be completed. I felt like the pricing for the repairs was more than fair and reasonable! ow is all I can say about this place I went to a dealership with my 09 chevy impala ss they told me I had a transmission problem they charged me 170 dollars to tell me I had a transmission problem I already knew that going there I was looking for better answers I always like to get second and third opinions so I took my car to Trans o matic they also told me they can fix it for 1400 dollars over the phone so knowing I'm on a budget it sounded good over the phone but then in my mind i said wait and now I'm asking my self how can they give me a price if they have not even looked at my car or seen it or know what's wrong with it but i took it there any ways to check it out and it seems like all they wanted to do is sell me a Transmission so I went home frustrated looked on Google again for my third time and place found a place called tramcar transmission called them and a gentleman by the name of junior answer the phone i ask him how much for my transmission he would not give me a price said he wanted to look at my car first and went in to details not even the dealership gave me witch was great he told me people who think have transmission problems really dont have it so we set a appointment and went the next day when I got there this place for a Trans shop was really clean and busy they took me in showed me around on a tour to better help me understand my car they checked my car out and after having Carlos and Abraham there mechanics check out my car they called me over said I had a bad sensor and it was gonna cost 200 dollars to fix here we are 12 months later and the car is running better then before runs like a brand new car god bless these guys Can't talk enough about this crew love them would recommend them to anyone Rome more

Google Appellate Court Tramco vs Mobley Tramcar hiding behind another company as a shield, they promised to rebuild a transmission for no more than 1,200... Tramcar picked up my daughters vehicle from Aurora, IL on a Friday night, and then refused to returned it on a Saturday morning when I discovered they were located in Chicago over and hour away. Tramcar refuse to communicate with me until 2-weeks thereafter when they sent me a estimate for over 4,800, on a car worth only 6,800. After 5 months they ask me to come and pickup the vehicle and only after I got it home, it was discovered that Tramcar kept the transmission. Which was a transmission that qualified for Cash-for-Clunkers cash in rebate of $4,500. This ultimately lead into a 9-year battle between my daughter, I and Tramcar in court. This company is BAD NEWS!!! Do not venture into a relationship with this establishment who hides behind others companies to solicited business, then attempts to increase prices, and hold your vehicle hostage until you pay for their criminal activity= SCAM! more

My son's 2007 Isuzu had 135K mile and the transmission was inoperable. I brought the car to Tramcar because I have lived in the neighborhood for over 30 years and knew that Tramcar had been there at least that long, and with the same owner. The manager, Junior, inspected the vehicle at no charge and then gave me several options to repair/replace the trans. Tramcar rebuilt the trans and the whole process was completed within four days. Though not inexpensive, I felt the charges were reasonable and I am very happy with the service. Thank you Junior and Cary. more

Last year (2016) I had the nightmarish experience of having two cars in need of transmission work. I spent $7700 to repair my 2004 Honda Accord and 2006 Lexus SC430. I was told after fixing the Honda, that I'd get the Lexus done at the lowest cost he could charge me. It turned out later that the original price quote for the Lexus had to be bumped up because the computer also had to be replaced. AND the Accord ran fine but had a noise that suggested something wasn't quite right. They took the car back without hesitation or hassle and returned it to me in about a week. My Accord and Lexus have ran perfectly for almost a year later now. No noise. No problems. I gave the "total experience" question 4 stars, but really only because there's no way I could give 5 stars to an experience that cost me that much money. I'm just a guy with a job. Did I get a great value? How would I know? I'm no mechanic and the bottom line is I had to take their word for it. But I can say that I was able to feel like I could trust them that they weren't robbing me. I think the quality of their work is 5 star. And I would recommend Tramcar to anyone who needs transmission work. I don't know that they're the cheapest shop in town, but I think you can be pretty confident that your car's repair will be first rate. more

My experience with Tramcar Transmission Specialists was really good. I needed to have my transmission rebuilt, and this was my first experience with them. Hopefully I won't have to rebuild my transmission again, but if I need to this is where I'm going. Their mechanics are professional, approachable, and relatable. They are conscientious and thoughtful people who do darn good work. What I really liked was their communication. They are very communicative. I was even able to reach them on a Sunday night. They did more than explain their work. They were willing and able to send pictures and videos of the work that they were doing. It gave me peace of mind to know what was happening, and that the work was getting done. Usually the car is opened and closed without the lay man knowing what sort of work has been done. So the fact that they shared the process was huge. After they returned the car I complied with the two week checkup that they suggested. Once again the mechanic did a really good job and there were no issues. I would say that the work and the price were a good value because their work has held up, which means that it is trustworthy. more

I took my car to Tramcar Transmission Specialists because I thought there was something wrong with my transmission. We took it in and they told me that it wasn't the transmission and that something was loose in our car, so they fixed the problem within an hour and we were free to go. Two days later, the problem happened again while I was driving so my son came with me to take it back in. They kept it overnight and didn't charge me and we got it back the next day. It was working fine until I heard another noise a few days ago, so I called Tramcar again. Now that this is the third time my car is making the noise, I'm unsure what to think or if I should trust them. Now they're telling me there might be a different problem and it's very frustrating. Living on a fixed income is hard and having to have so many auto repairs is very taxing. I will say that Junior the mechanic is really great at communicating and did reassure me that they wouldn't take advantage of me, so hopefully the next time I take my car to them, they can accurately assess the problem. I had a serious leak and other problems with my transmission. The highly experienced Tramcar staff showed me what went wrong, they got the parts, and put it back together as promised. Transmissions are complex; they need to open them up to see what is going on. They did an outstanding job on my Accord with 210K miles on it. more

I was referred by a friend to take my truck to Tramcar, well of course I was little worried since most mechanics take advantage of women, not trued with Tramcar, my transmission went out and they had it towed, fixed it and I had another issue, they towed it again and fixed it for free, I so recommend for anyone with car issues to make sure you take it to Tramcar you will not be disappointed. more

I WAS LOOKING FOR A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST ON LINE TO REPAIR MY F150 AND FOUND TRAMCAR,THEIR 24HR HOT LINE WORKED FOR ME SINCE I CALLED AT 1;30AM. The specialists at Tramcar Transmission are honest and fair. I have gone to them to get my transmission fixed a few times, and will continue to go to them whenever needed. This was the first time I went with Tramcar Transmission Specialists. Their communication was very good. They called me several times over their four day service, and were also very clear about everything going on with my vehicle's transmission. They rebuilt the transmission on my '95 Honda Accord. Tramcar Transmission Specialists rebuilt my transmission on my van. They explained it well, in regards to costs and the whys behind the costs--they were up front about that. They didn't try to sugar coat it. I was in a bad situation and when they were done explaining to me what they were going to do, coupled with the type of warranty they offered, was very convincing. Most companies don't offer the type of warranty they offer on that type of work. Three years was enough to take a chance with them and they were always in communication with me in regards to how long it takes. If it took a day beyond that, they will call to explain I really appreciated the family-type environment he has. The young man who sits at the front desk, on the phone and takes the appointments, communicates very well. I even got a change to speak with the owner. They made an unpleasant experience more than tolerable. I've since been back for my first warranty check and it's not like they took me in and rushed me out. My van is also still running and it's been over a year since this occurred.
