HORRIBLE RUDE SERVICE. 1/16/2009

THey stated they were available to deliver to my area on ""delivery. com"" although I'm quite far (on prince st). Delivery came after over an hour, and I was fine with that since I was far... but the delivery man called me screaming, then as i met him to tip him and sign the receipt he yelled at me to never order from them again and slammed the receipt on the table. I am extremely disappointed and upset. Sushi was smashed all over the box, wasabi smothered all over the sushi. UNACCEPTABLE service. Do not order. Pros: Cheap Cons: Service more

My favorite sushi spot in the city 5/1/2008

I am crazy about sushi. I love it, I eat it like 3-4 times a week. I've been to several places around the city, both inexpensive and upscale. Yet Akina remains my favorite. I've been here at least 50 times and have never been disappointed. The fish is always incredibly fresh. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The prices are low yet everything is high quality. I have no complaints about this place at all from any of the numerous times I've been here. FYI- can get packed on Friday and Saturday nights b/c the place is pretty small. Pros: Consistently fresh good sushi. Low prices more

Love this place 1/3/2008

Amazing sushi for a very low price. Came across this place about a year ago and have been a regular ever since without one bad experience. Everything is very fresh and delicious, the service is very attentive. Plus you can byob! Pros: Very fresh, amazing sushi, byob Cons: service a bit too attentive at times more

wow 4/12/2007

i have been in akina many times, they serves pretty good food, service is fast, and fish is super-fesh,\r king-salmon and uni was so good there whenn i last time been there.the waitress told me that the owner of that restaurant is an Jap architect and she did the interior desgin of that space (including the paintting on the wall), wow. more

good sushi place 2/1/2007

I had been in many sushi restaurants before, but this sushi place seems to me the best one, in fact the most important thing in sushi is not really the fish but the rice, the restaurant is really small but they really know how to make real sushi. (By the way I think they are going to change their name as Akina, coz there trademark had been used by other people already) \r Anyway it is very good place to try the real sushi; also never go to buffet if you want sushi. Trust me.\r Pros: restaurant more

WOW 1/19/2007

I heard about this place from the nytimes. The nytimes did not do this place justice. The sushi is fresh, service is fast and the price is ULTRA reasonable. This is a place that will be ultra popular in a very very short time, it just opened up two weeks ago. I'm been everywhere in the city and the quality tops sushi samba, yama..etc... \r I know for the price and quality, I'll be back very shortly...like maybe tommorow Pros: the sushi, service, byob Cons: small, go early more
