Stiff Drinks and Great Food 1/6/2011

Tommy's has great food if you know what to order. The ribs are great and the seafood dishes are superb. Prices are high, but what do you expect from a restaurant attached to a store that sells $50 t-shirts? The bar scene picks up for happy hour almost every day, and on the weekends, it turns into a more festive place with great people watching. It's pretty much a pickup joint for the over 40 crowd in the Woodlands. Ladies beware - most of the men hitting on you are married. Men beware - there are quite a few divorcees trolling for someone to augment their child support. There's also a fair amount of totally normal , fun loving people hanging out too - so it can be one of the best places to be on a weekend night in the Woodlands! more

We love this place! 5/7/2010

I've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed it. The food is really good, even though it is a little pricey. It's TB though. If you'll pay the prices for their clothes, you shouldn't have a problem with the prices of their food. I love sitting in the sunroom during the spring and fall, but inside is nice year round. Sometimes I feel like we're made to wait longer than is necessary to be seated. I can't figure out what takes them so long. Pros: great atmosphere Cons: pricey, slower service more

It ok--average 2/20/2010

The food and service is good but when you add into the mix their prices...it takes them from 5 star to 3 star!! Perrys, Jaspers, even Kirbys would be a 1st choice over TB! Pros: Food Cons: price more

Great food, good dining experience 11/2/2008

Me and a co-worker went last Friday and I tried this restaurant for the first time. I thought it was delicious! Even though it's expensive the dishes are wonderful and the chef gets big props! I thought the ambience of the restaurant and the decor DID feel like being in the Islands. The service was great and the food made me definetly want to go back again! I recommend it! Pros: Great service, excellent food, hot bread, ambience wonderful. Cons: No cons for me. more

Fabulous Service 7/22/2008

We had lunch at TB's last week before heading to the airport. We were immediately seated in a wonderful booth overlooking the "very hot" outdoor patio - it was perfect! Rachel was our server and she is a fabulous server who knows her stuff, had a wonderful repoire with us and made a very memorable lunch. I love this restaurant and am disappointed in the other reviews I read. The food was wonderful - scallop sliders and the grouper sandwich! and desserts are to die for. Thanks for a super day and keep up the good work. Pros: Rachel - the server, the food and atmosphere Cons: none more

Stay away from this restaurant! 7/14/2008

My wife and I visited Tommy Bahama's a couple of weeks ago, but didn't get to enjoy the food as another guess had arrived at our table just before we were seated. It was a nice big juicy insect (this review service will not let me spell out the word C O C K R O A C H for some reason). I quickly snapped a photo of it with my camera phone as It scurried across a picture frame above the table. After I took the picture, we immediately got up to leave. I'm glad that other customers around us could see why we were leaving. As we walked out the door, I showed the hostess the picture I had taken and told her why we were leaving. She just shrugged. We will never go back. Pros: NONE Cons: R O A C H E S more

Slow service, Overpriced food 7/6/2008

This is a very expensive restaurant, but in this case, you don't get what you pay for. I visited this restaurant for lunch yesterday around 2:30, and even though the place was more than half empty, it still took the server over 45 minutes to deliver a sandwich and two salads. My salad was decent, but certainly wasn't worth it based on the price and the slow service. Do your self a favor, if your in The Woodlands, go to a different restaurant. Pros: It's the chain's only Texas restaurant Cons: slow service, overpriced food more

Bad Service Experience 4/9/2008

I took some friends out to celebrate their gradutions. One of them had dated one of the waiters and she did not want to see him for fear it would be akward. When we asked the hostess & host who our server would be they wouldn't tell us. They wanted to know why we wanted to know and when we explained it they insisted on knowing who it was. I reluctantly gave them the name and then asked them not to say anything. Our meal was okay, except for them delivering a chicken quesadilla to our vegetarian. When it came time for our dessert to be brought out the server we were trying to avoid delivered it to us. He then proceeded to sit down and ask us why we didn't want to see him. I was floored at the immaturity of the host staff and their desparted need to gossip. I won't return. Pros: Great Patio Cons: Childish and Uncaring Staff more

The Woodlands location - Boring Menu and Insanely Over Priced! 3/25/2008

The Woodlands location - Boring Menu and Insanely Over Priced! $28.00+ for 4 undercooked scallops and 3 tiny shrimp over a cup of rice?? We had to ask for bread, and were presented with a 4" square "loaf" of bread for 4 adults. Crab bisque was best thing on menu, but at $6.50 a cup?? $30.00 pork tenderloin was dry and chewy - 4 tiny stalks of aspargus??. Place is always busy, so guess they just don't have to worry about quality or variety any longer. So, if you go there, for one drink, one cup of soup and one entre', expect to easily be presented with at least a $50 per person bill. They have seen us for the last time, and we live here. Pros: It's in The Woodlands Cons: Insanely over priced, noisy, and no parking more

Great Woodlands Addition 1/22/2007

My wife and I love to go here. I don't mind the shopping either... who minds a hawaiian shirt every now and then? Anyway, the food is great, the location is great, and on Thursdays, they have live music in the outside area. This is the only Tommy Bahama store and restaurant NOT on the beach.... Pros: Cool atmosphere, great food, nice clothes Cons: Parking, occasionally... more

Key Lime... 11/5/2006

The key lime martini with graham cracker on the rim was a treat (should have saved for dessert). With a reservation, we were seated promptly. more

bad experience 10/27/2006

After eating here a few times we went one Saturday night with some friends and after waiting over an hour for a table we finally got seated and then our food took a while to get to us and then... it was all tepid! My quesadillas actually had cold cheese in them. more

Sign of the Times 10/15/2006

Very disappointing, the service I received was not a bit appealing, we felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant by the two bartenders, I guess they are qualified to set their standards there I was asked if I needed another drink when I had not even began drinking what I had on hand, and my tab was closed out right after that, with out being asked if I wanted anything from the menu sitting next to me. And not to mention the television show I was so focused in watching was turn off, it was early in the day so I new the restaurant was not closing. With this type of upscale treatment you can count on me enjoying the simple things in life. Pros: Restaurant Ambience Cons: Treat others how you want to be treated. more

Tropical 9/30/2006

Were there last evening. Great atmosphere, beautiful inisde dining area, great patio dining, great bar, great drinks - but the food needs to be better and they need to have more entree selections vs. sandwichs in the evening. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Food more

So-So food, Way Overpriced 9/10/2006

Nice atmosphere, waiter didn't seem to be in the best of moods, presentation of the food was beautiful, too bad the taste wasn't as good. Way overpriced! Pros: Atmosphere was nice Cons: Service and food left a lot to be desired more

Waaay Too Hyped-up 9/7/2006

Did not get waited on till 15 minutes. Manager came out and apologized and offered an appetizer. He still charged us for the appetizer- we don't mind paying for the appetizer but it was the principal that the manager offered it and still charged us. Also, it's a very pricey place for such a casual atmosphere. more

TOO PRICEY 9/6/2006

Even though the restaurant/patio is a great idea, it is extremely pricey for the low quality of food. Service is good - the food is not up to par. more

Great atmosphere, good food, good service 4/6/2006

Atmosphere is great, you will definitely have to wait as there always seems to be a line, food and service are good, some menu items are a little pricey but quality is always there. Pros: great atmosphere, romantic, fun Cons: long wait times more
