Trendy and poorly executed. OK for drinks and apps. Sunny, pleasant atmosphere. 12/18/2008

This is a good place for drinks, appetizers, and desert. They have outdoor seating. A bit pricey, but open and sunny with lots of windows. Do NOT go here for an actual meal--overpriced and not well executed. One example: lunch- $18 for Arugula salad. It came with shrimp and scallops. The seafood was ok--not amazing, but not horrible. 2 shrimp, 2 scallops. It was on a bed of arugula...but the arugula was limp and had been soaking in a tangy vinaigrette for so long that it was practically inedible. The seafood was rubbed with a bit too much spice and a little undercooked. Dessert tasted soo good--butterscotch pudding with chocolate ganache... but the chocolate was frozen to the inside of the mug, so that you couldn't actually get any out. Apps: Good coconut shrimp. Good goat cheese. Service: polite, but rarely there, and we didn't get bread, and it was forever between courses and check. I made reservations several days in advance...and it was not at all busy...and we were a party of 6, so unknown why the laissez faire attitude. Nice atmosphere, decent ingredients, not well executed and spotty service. Way overpriced. If you're looking for a key lime martini and a goat cheese quesadilla in a sunny corner of Town Square, you're golden. But if you want to have a nice lunch or dinner, then I highly suggest you go elsewhere; Brio, Blue Martini, even Claimjumper, Texas de whatever, anywhere but here. Dinner/lunch at Tommy Bahamas = overpriced fish with soggy salad or too much bread ('hawaiian ciabatta roll'...really?) and aioli overkill. Trendy fare with good ingredients not done well. Get a martini and coco shrimp app here, then go across the way to Brio for their happy hour carpaccio and wine, then go to Blue M for half price girlie drinks and get the half price lamb chops to go. Once home, open a nice bottle of red, eat hearty, and be happy you didn't spend wads of dough on a bad dinner and tip at Tommy Bahamas. Pros: outdoor seating, windows, sunny, fancy girlie drinks, good apps Cons: overpriced main courses, all with ciabatta and/or aioli more
