damaged rim 3/18/2011

PLEASE READ. If you care about your safety, your car, your rims and tires. This is my terrible experience with tire works replacing a simple tire. This “business” should be shut down and lawsuit filed against them. I took my car in to get new tires because my old ones were worn out. My old tires kept the tire pressure perfectly never had an issue with it. So I get this new tires and drove them for a little less than a mile and parked the car for 3 hours then when I drove home about 12 mile distance the tire went flat. It caused my rim to crack and get bent. The next morning I woke up I noticed that the tire was flat and I took it off. Since I am in school full time and working full time I didn’t have time to take in my tires to get it checked till the following week. The sales guy checks my rim and said it’s cracked and told me to leave. After talking about with a friend I decided to call them, they said that they will take a look at it and they will call me with a result. They never called and decided to “fix it”. Before I took it to them I took it to hub cap Annie’s and they told me that it’s not safe to fix this rim due to the damage. I went to check on the rim and the manager said I had to pay $100. Thru his whole explanation he basically stated that they will put a new tire on a broken rim just to make profit. He basically told me that I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. I been working on cars since I was 10 years old so trust me I know what I am talking about when it comes to cars. He tried telling me that the rim was previously cracked and I completely shut his point down when I told him that my old tires kept the air pressure since day one. Then he tried telling me that it was it went flat because the tire didn’t have the right air pressure, by stating this basically he stated that they don’t know nothing about installing a tire properly. With this he basically admitted to fault because they didn’t install the tire properly. His great solution was to call corporate and for me to go back in a week. I went in the following week and the manager completely ignored my presence and his worker told me that it will be $118.00. Really I have to pay that amount of money to put my life and other life in danger. When I said no I will not pay that he basically kicked me out and said to call corporate. I called corporate and explained everything to her . She then stated that she would follow up with me the next day. I never received a call two days went by and nothing. So I called in the third day, her response was that there was nothing they could do that probably what happen was that the tire had a nail or screw in it. I checked the tire before I took it to them and there was no nail or screw. She also stated that the tire was completely destroyed. I only drove on the tire for less than 12 miles. more

These guys are unbelievable! 2/4/2011

They deliberately tried to get approval for a new set of tires and a front end alignment from my fleet services manager without my knowledge or permission. All i wanted was a new battery. They kept me waiting over an hour and a half, while they called to get the approval for the extra work. I told them that there was no way they were putting on new tires to which they replied they couldn't let me take the car because it was unsafe to drive. Since the tires had just been rotated and were deemed in good condition less than 200 miles earlier it was hard to see how they had become unsafe in that short a time frame. After two and a half hours of being essentially held hostage I had to call our fleet mangement company and have them demand that they release the car to me. I finally got my car out of there with only a ridiculously expensive battery, but i will never go back. They are totally unscrupulous. more

Thieves and liars 3/6/2010

It really should be illegal what they did to my wife. She was 6 months pregnant and went it for a brake pad replacement, and they took a steel wool pad (witnessed by my wife) to the rotors, and ruined them. (they were only 9 months old) They tried forcing my wife to pay for new rotors, and told her "we can't let you leave with your car so unsafe" and she politely replied "Put my F***ing car back together" and drove off. My wife is not an idiot, god bless her heart. We called LVPD, and they told us it was a civil matter since we could not prove anything. I will be calling corporate today. On the other hand, Tunex was just awesome. They replaced our brake pads, and resurfaced our rotors that Tire Works had tried their best to ruin, for only $200 and they work like new. Bottom line: DO NOT do business with these criminals! Pros: none Cons: crooks and criminals more

Broke my vehicle and lied to me 2/19/2010

Had them do some work involving my shocks. Even gave them written instructions on what to do. They didnt follow the step by step instructions and managed to completely wreck my suspension. Had it fixed by a dealer, and Tire Works promised to reimburse me. After 2 months of talking to some ""manager"" (who apparently kept getting transferred to various stores), they finally had the gall to tell me they never worked on my shocks because the reciept said ""misc labor"". Thier corporate office is an exercise in futility. They pulled the ""Im sorry, I cant hear you, are you there?"" then hang up trick to not deal with irate customers. They are liars who hire incompetent mechanics. more

Friendly staff, amazing price!! 1/9/2010

I took my car into Tire Works on Craig and Decatur because it wasn't driving too smoothly. I had an estimate for the needed repairwork from my dealeship but it was very expensive. The guys at the front counter were very helpful and quickly got my car in for service. The beat the dealership quote by over $150! I even decided to buy 4 new tires because mine were worn.....they matched a previous tire quote from Discount tire. I feel like I accomplished both tasks with one stone and saved time and money! Jim and Jason were terrific Tire Works Reps! Thank you!!!! Pros: Honest, great customer service Cons: nothing more

Scraped my rotor 10/5/2009

I took my new car for new rims and tires. They took a scape brush to my rotors to force me to buy new ones. When I confronted the manager, he asked me to prove it. Well my car only had 20,000 miles on it. I took it to the dealer. They told me it looked like someone took a scrape brush to it. I had only been to tire works since I bought the car. Can I prove it? No sorry I dont have a cam in my engine. But, I know in my heart they did it. Pros: None Cons: Thiefs more

TireWorks Bad Customer Service 10/22/2008

I also had very bad customer service at this particular Tire Works. I believe if one could get past Donna at corporate, we could get some real care. I'm researching it. but in the meantime, I've been contacting their affliates, in my case Bridgestone to inform them of how this company, who advertises Bridgestone or rather makes it known that they accept Bridgestone credit card treats their customers. I'm hoping those people out there who are dissatisfied with TireWorks will start contacting the larger companies they are affiliated with let them know how much you are concerned with the way Tireworks does business. Maybe we can drive them out-of-business or drive them to good customer service. Pros: Very Nice When You Are Purchasing A Product Cons: Do Anything Not To Honor Warranties more

Expensive Car Battery Rip Off! DON'T Ever go to these places! 8/25/2008

My battery needed replacement so I trusted this place to take good care of me since I live in the neighborhood. The manager suggested the best, Optima battery, supposedly a 5 year battery. I sprung for the $244 battery. Yes, that is right....$244! Five days later the battery was dead in my garage. The tow truck guy told me it was the battery. I called Tireworks and the manager told me that it was the starter. I took the car to the Toyota Dealer and they told me that it was the wrong battery and it was installed wrong, that is why it went dead. I replaced it with another one from the dealer. Tire works refuses to refund my money. Don't trust these guys with anything on your vehicle. I am out the $244 all because I trusted this place. Don't go there...ever or You'll be sorry like I am. Pros: Nothing Cons: Over priced, installed wrong, no trust. more
