Editorial review from Citysearch 1/25/2014

This is a place you've seen the inside of in a lot of movies and maybe the outside of. It looks like a wild western bar. It has swinging double doors and everything. Even middle of the day it's dark and dingy, but so many hollywood deals go down here it's worth picking a booth, ordering a very good burger and chips, and watching who goes in and out for a few hours. Parking is decent on the street most of the day. Never been at night. more

Unlike any other bar in LA 11/19/2009

This place doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It's unlike any other bar in LA. It's unpretentious, and you won't hear any discussions about who signed with what agent or what studios are shuffling execs. Contrary to other reviewers, I found the wait staff to be friendly and attentive. If you're looking for swank, don't bother, but if you're looking for a casual ""neighborhood watering hole,"" this place is a great time. Pros: great burgers, daily specials, free popcorn Cons: closes early more

WORST CHOICE FOR A CHICAGO BEARS BAR 9/16/2007

I grew up on the South Side of Chicago but I've also lived in Wrigleyville on the North Side, San Diego, Austin and now Los Angeles. I'm a drunk who's seen the inside of too many taverns in my life and I can say with certainty this bar doesn't cut it. I went there today on a whim because I heard it was a Chicago Bears bar. It ended up being a forgettable experience. The fans there were great. The few girls in attendance were all cute. Everyone was a die-hard Chicago bears fans. However, like myself and most Chicagoans; they're too drunk, fat and lazy to get off their asses to migrate some place better. The dive is packed top to bottom both inside and out yet there's only one bar. It's almost impossible to get a beer. I stood and the bar for 20 minutes and the bikini wearing bartendress acted as if I didn't exist. I left the place with the impression that Burbank is a dry town. When I walked into a bar at Northern Illinois in DeKalb with some friends the bartender(s) would start lining up the beers and shots. The TV had no sound and none of the dumbasses working there could fix it. I'm assuming the owner of this place doesn't have a business degee. I'd still like to watch the game with Bears fans; just not here. I wish they would come to their senses and pick some place else. There's plenty of establishments out there that would go out of there way to cater to such a large group. Pros: Bears fans and down to earth women Cons: The bar itself more

This Bar Gives Chicago a Bad Name 2/4/2007

I went to this bar for a friends birthday and let me tell you it was a big mistake. The bar is located in a seedy area in Burbank and its where a lot of Chicago Bears, Cubs, and White Sox fans go to watch games. I went up to the bar to get a beer and it took about 10 minutes to get a beer and I was the only person up at the bar. For what reason I dont know - the beer is kept in a freezer in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. The bartender has to walk all the way to the back just to fetch a beer! My friends also were complaining about the long waits for drinks all day long and the bar was not even busy. I thought that ordering a mixed drink would be faster but that took even longer. The pouring is measured by a computer system and we were told we could not order liquor because the computer had crashed. Once it came back up 45 mins later the loud obnoxious blonde bartender took about 15 minutes to make all of our drinks because she had to unlock each bottle with a key to pour a drink. No i'm not kidding. What kind of bar owner puts limits on how fast the amount of liquor can be poured? If I was from Chicago I would be ashamed of this bar. Stay away from this dump, there are plenty of good bars in Burbank to get faded in. Pros: They have a jukebox Cons: lazy bartenders, slow bar system, dirty crowd more

hidden gem 8/19/2005

I can't believe nobody's mentioned that this place is a ""Chicago"" bar. I make it here every sunday during football season. It's a sea of orange and blue. You don't have NFL Ticket? Forget about it and come here to watch the game. Just make sure to wear your Chicago Bears colors, or you'll stick out like a sore thumb. Food is standard bar food. Goes great with a cold one and the monsters of the midway on the box. If you're a Chicagoan, you've gotta check this place out. more

Tin Horn Flats Falls Flat 5/13/2005

This could be a great little burger joint/local bar. Great combo of low brow/high brow, miller lite meets Grey Goose. However, my first visit for dinner and drinks was cut short! With $10 in the juke box, the 45 - 50 somthing manager called last call at 10:45. The next thing I knew the juke box was shut off promting us to leave with full beers, an empty stomache, and an empty heart, without so much as an I'm sorry or we close early. Not recommended at all!! Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Drinks Cons: Manger , Manager , MANAGER more

Great Burgers 6/10/2002

Tin Horn Flats is a great place to have a burger. Swinging bar doors are reminicient of the Old West, as is the minimalist cowboy-like decor inside. The prices are more than reasonable and there's a full bar to boot. Speaking of the bar, though, it does sometimes get a little bit rough. So, if you're not into all that , then plan to finish up your meal before 8 or 9 o'clock. However, if dives are your thing, then stick around. There's pool tables and a smoking patio outside (though it closes early). Pros: good burgers, pool tables Cons: seedy bar scene more
