What a hassle. 3/19/2006

Time Warner Cable is one of those necessary evils of New York City. Their customer service is rude, their prices are high, and should your cable go out and they have to send someone to fix it, you can wait up to a week for service. Sure, they'll pro-rate your account, but if you work from home and use their Internet service, that's a disaster waiting to happen. Also, when you move, be careful, despite what you tell them about turn on and off dates for service, they may not turn off the cable at your old address and will try to keep charging you. more

Cable 12/6/2005

Time Warner is probably the biggest cable and internet provider in New York City. They are pretty good although the fact that they are so big allows them to skimp on things. You have to make appointments in rather big blocks (4 hours) and I've had many situathion where they have not come during that time or something happened that they messed up and needed to come again, which meant waiting another four hours. The service is good although I would say you should shop around because their prices are high. Don't take any BS from them either. If there is a proble, call and escalate; speak to a supervisor and then to that person's supervisor. Most of the time, if you have any semblance of a case, you will get what you want. more

Cable, Phone, and Internet 10/10/2005

Time Warner is one of the biggest providers of cable television, digital phone, and internet services. Overall, they are pretty good. They now have packages where you can get all three although one should be wary of these. First, they sometimes aren't necessarily worth it and don't save you money. Also, statistics show that when people get two or three services from the same provider, they are much less likely to switch. This brings me to my next point, there are a lot of other reputable companies that offer one or more of these services usually at a better price. Final gripe with Time Warner is their appointment schedule. They will only give you a four hour window slot, nothing shorter. Even when they messed up, made a mistake, and had to come back, they refused to schedule a specific time and forced me to wait at home for another four hours. more
