Editorial review from Citysearch 8/2/2012

This establishment has incredible drinks (oatmeal cookie and chambord kamikaze martinis) and the food was delicious also (sampler, fresh garden rolls, and yellow curry). The atmosphere was very pleasant and service was great. more

I just had the worst customer service I 1/14/2012

I just had the worst customer service I have ever had while dining at this restaurant. Our server, who is also apparently the manager, was talking on the phone while taking our order. She literally interrupted me in the middle of saying my order to talk to whoever was on the phone. She was very rude and did not seem to care when we told her why we were upset with the service. This is my first time ever writing a review as I usually don't care enough to go to the trouble, but this place was so terrible that I had to say something. I would neverdineat this restaurant again. The other server seemed nice, however if our server was the owner I do not want to support her business. more

update for fabulous Thai food 3/6/2011

Went here for a birthday ""lunch"" in mid-afternoon with two teenagers. They loved the new appetizer of thin chicken and cheese fried together. Two ""pad"" dishes, pineapple fried rice and won ton soup were all really good and prepared quickly. Owner ""V"" is very amiable and has been a steadfast contributor to the downtown effort. Try her out for lunch or dinner. more

not good place to eat 9/4/2009

this place is and waiter @waitress are unpredictable the food not that great guys don't go to tiger. Pros: srimp wrap uncooked more

Raw shrimp with no apology. 3/2/2009

My husband and I went to Tigers Garden for our date nite. We ordered our appetizer ...which was some sort of shrimp wrapped in rice paper. My husband bit into the shrimp and it was under cooked. Like the shrimp was still raw and gray looking. We sent the dish back and explained why. Absolutely no compensation or apology was offered. The waitress in fact acted like we had bothered or annoyed her. Needless to say we will not be dining in this restaurant again. I absolutely do not recommend this retaurant!!! more

Not Impressed. 10/11/2008

The restaurant was really clean, but our server looked to be a 14 y.o. kid who looked to be working at his parents place for the very first time. My wife had teriyaki chicken and it was tough, dry and way overcooked. She also had potstickers, which just looked to be deep fried and over-fried until the point of being dry. As for myself, I had California rolls which were OK, but the shrimp fried rice I ordered tasted sweet and they didn't even bother to pull the tails off the shrimp! I think if we go back, we'll be sticking to drinks at the bar... more

Best Thai Ever 6/30/2008

This place is so cute and friendly, Best pad thai, and i HIGHLY recommend the Tom Kha soup. Generous portions, fast service, pick up can be done in as little as 15 minutes. When we first moved to Vancouver, this was the first restaurant we tried. The lounge has a cute feel, good martinis and art work. It's a popular place, so seating on the weekends can be tough, parking downtown can be difficult.\r If you order 4 store, you might get hot, you might not, depending on who is in the kitchen. I've ordered 2 star and gotten spicy off the chart, and then ordered 4 star on a different day that tastes more like 2 star. I went to California and ordered Tom Kha soup from a different place, and it was TOTALLY different, not good at all. FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS FOOD Pros: Great food! Cons: parking more

Satisfy your Thai cravings 5/25/2008

Our favorites are the crying tiger, pad thai and the red curry. The only downside is that you want to eat way too much. Pros: Every dish has a distinct flavor. No generic sauces at this place. Cons: parking can be difficult on the weekends more

Yum! 4/3/2008

Great Food, Great Service! Huge selection of fun beverages more

Tasty, with pleasant atmosphere 12/17/2007

What a lovely little restaurant!\r \r We had a very enjoyable meal at Tiger's Garden last week. I was hoping the food would be as good as Thai Orchid, and my initial verdict is that it is at least as good. I had an imaginative mixed seafood red curry, which was both different and delicious. The service, location, looks and feel of the place were so comfortable and welcoming that I am looking forward to my next visit. The price is moderate. more

Amazingly authentic Thai food right over the bridge! 9/1/2007

For my husband and I, Thai cuisine reigns supreme. We've had Thai food all over the country, and that's why we were so excited to find Tiger's Garden in our own backyard. They are located in downtown Vancouver, right across the street from Esther Short Park, a beautiful location! Parking is never much of a problem and the food is amazing. \r Try the garlic chicken, the Pad See Ewe, Spring Rolls, Potstickers, or pretty much anything else on the menu, and you will be delighted. They also have an amazing happy hour, which lasts all day Sunday, afternoons from 4-6pm and after 9pm. We often go there and just make a meal of their Happy Hour; that's how much we love their lounge and the appetizers on the Happy Hour menu! All in all, you just can't go wrong with Tiger's Garden if you love Thai food and customer service that is top-notch! Pros: Authentic Thai food, Great Service, Great Happy Hour more

Highly recoemded 3/6/2005

Hmm, when I searched for Tigers Garden my pervious review for a restaurant in the industrial park was listed here. I guess the restaurant moved uptown like another posted said. Each time I've eaten at here I've gotten great food and service. Last time I ate there I got the green curry w/ tofu which was delicious!! The spring rolls are good too. Pros: Good Parking, service, location more

Best outside of Thailand 3/3/2004

Tiger's Garden is the best Thai food I have eaten outside of Thailand...Service is excellent, portions are very sastisfying and the atmosphere rates a 10. I would reccomend it to everyone. The curry is my favorite and they make it excellent everytime. Pros: Curry, Good Parking, Service more

Great Place 5/9/2003

I've been many times for lunch and dinner. Food is excellent and very hot if order so. The service is probably the best in vancouver. I was told however do to lack of business in the industrial park they are moving to downtown vancouver. Pros: great food, service, price more

Overrated, More Like a 7 12/30/2002

Service and speed are highlights. The previous positive reviews are written by the lunch crowd in the industrial area of Vancouver, due to lack of restaurants, it's probably a satisfying bet. I judge a Thai restaurant by the salad rolls and pad thai, because these two simple items should be mastered by any good Thai restaurant. At D.C., the salad rolls were ok, though tofu was matchstick size and we asked for peanut sauce which boosted the flavor. Our pad thai was HUGE, but had a peculier and undesireable flavor; our peanut sauce helped to mask it. The vegetables were crisp and delicious. The best part was the Evil Prince Curry with chicken, the sauce boosted our rating of the food to a 7. I wouldn't encourage anyone to make a SPECIAL trip, but it wasn't a complete disappointment either. Pros: Great Service, Large Portions, Clean Cons: Food Lacks Complexity, Ambience at Night, Location for Dinner more

Hidden Treasure 12/24/2002

I've been to virtually all of the ""high profile"" Thai restaurants in Portland and Dok Champa is at the top of the list for food and service. The curries and rice dishes are fantastic and you can customize anything on the menu. The ambiance is nothing extraordinary (it is in a business park) but Vee (the owner) keeps the place spotless. It is a ""must stop"" restaurant if you are in Vancouver and want to try excellently prepared, flavorful Thai food. Pros: food, service more

Great Service 12/6/2002

This has to be one of the friendliest Thai places I've ever been to. On any given day you can be sure at least one Edger is headed up the hill to partake - so, we just place our order with him/her. =) Pros: friendly, good food, great parking Cons: small dining area more

Oh my, great Thai 9/18/2002

They consistently make top quality curries and stir fried dishes, with all the great spices that make Thai food so interesting. Dok Champa does a fantastic job, and is worth checking out. more

satisfyingly spicy 9/10/2002

Dok Champa is a superior lunch spot that's unrivaled in value and selection. The food is awesome and there are multiple choices on how spicy you would like each item. It should satisfy the mild to wild when it comes to how hot you like your food. This restaurant is much better than most of the higher priced Thai food establishments that I've been to regardless of where they're located. The lunch menu is far larger than even many big restaurants have and a great value for the proportions offered. Pros: Value, Large proportions, Good parking more
