Yes, Virginia, There is an Underground Theatre
Descend a set of stairs from the lobby of the Ohio Theatre to this tiny performance space, a cozy den-like setting where posters from Broadway's past line the walls. There's no red-velvet curtain, no marble floors, and the seating capacity is less than 100.
There's a bar right in the theatre that you don't have to wait until intermission to visit. But just because you'll feel like part of a little family at Kennedy's doesn't mean they'll cut you a break on the booze. Beer and wine is the same hoity-toity price as upstairs.
Bring a Date and Your Catholic Guilt
Although Kennedy's will not be hosting the touring production of "Les Mis" anytime soon, they do showcase compelling shows chock full of Clevelanders. Currently, they've got a long-standing appointment with death: "Flannagan's Wake" runs through February.
