The village cork sets me into relax mode as soon as I walk in! Its a great place to go with some girlfriends or on a date they have a great wine list that changes often, and a great menu with local grown food! Chef Samir is one of the best chef's I have ever encountered he is very very food savy and his personal attention to the customers is unlike anything I have ever seen! Pros: euro decor, patio , and open kitchen more

Amazing Little Bistro 1/27/2010

This quaint bistro is straight from france in the 1950's with a menu that serves local grown and raised food cook with a rustic italian flare as the Chef put it. I had the beef shor ribs. I know how clique right but the Chef assured me that I was going to be blown away and blown away I was they were amazingly tender underneath was white beans and this herb relish on top. I paired it with the temperino and that was one of the best meals I have had ! Pros: close to home, great food, great wine ist Cons: none more

Just Rude! 1/26/2010

I saw the cute, quaint little bistro on the corner and on a whim decided to stop in. After being seated by a very pleasant woman I quickly fell in love with the place, or so I thought. After waiting about 10 min a young man approached me with a menu. I explained I wanted to look over the wine list for a moment. After about another 15 min I had to grab his attention. It was very frustrating because I was watching him talk to the bar patrons(there was a bartender) and literally go out of his way to ignore me. I was fully intending on ordering an appetizer and maybe dinner. He finally came back after several times of trying to flag him down. (it was like he was purposely avoiding eye contact) It was then I decided to just ask for the check, guess what? I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally I grabed the wine menu, found out how much my glass of wine had been, placed money on the table, and left. I was so angry. Pros: none so far Cons: I was so offended more

Great Potential, Horrible Service! 1/26/2010

My girlfriend and I live in the neighborhood and were really looking forward to trying this place out. We decided to go one night for desert and a couple glasses of wine. We live only a block away and the decision was spur of the moment so we were dressed comfortably but didnt think much of it especially because it was a Tuesday night. Pros: Close to my house Cons: Horrible Service more

New Chef On Pearl 1/13/2010

Me and my husband have been going to the village cork for about a year now and we love it! Great wines at resonable prices, owner is on site and a pleasure to talk to. Pros: amazing atmosphere, great local food, amazing wine list Cons: none more

Nice and Quaint 12/29/2009

Great neighborhood place. I like the Village Cork mostly for the atmosphere and the small plates. The wine selection is okay--all pretty moderately priced--which is nice for a dinner/restaurant atmosphere but I like to go to a wine bar to taste a glass or two of wine that I wouldn't take a chance on at dinner--and I don't find that here. Still, it is a great place to meet friends and nibble on delicious, fresh small plates and cheeses. It's a very small, intimate place and very cozy. Pros: Atmosphere more

Lovely restaurant with romantic ambience 8/30/2008

My husband and I had a nice, romantic evening at the Village Cork. The wines and pate and cheese dishes were delicious. The music is great, classic jazz vocal tunes. Interior decoration is very romantic. Great place for leaning back, relaxing. The server was courteous and helpful. We will be back. Pros: Romantic, relaxing, delicious food and wine Cons: None more

Great Light Rail Destination- Good Wine, Great People on Any Night 11/21/2006

Just one block west of the new Louisiana-Pearl light rail station, The Village Cork is one of my favorites. Admittedly I'm a regular, but i was hooked to this place almost right away by it's unique wine offerings, casual but dressy food selections, and it's great ambience. You can sip away the night in a fun conversation at the bar with the always colorful, friendly staff or tuck away in a cozy corner with soups made from scratch, imported cheeses or a decadent dessert. Once you go, you'll keep coming back. What better excuse to get out of that downtown hotel, apartment or loft, or plan your escape from the burbs to this "Old Pearl Street" neighborhood treat. Pros: Easy parking around the area or take the light rail Cons: None more

Nice diversion from usual crowds 11/14/2006

Wine bars are fun without a doubt - you get to pick wines that may not be offered by the glass in most restaurants, so it's less risky, and the atmosphere is almost worth the price per glass. I really enjoy this one. It's a dinky little place with lots of charm and very friendly owners who love to tell me about their wine without looking down their nose or making me wonder whether I'm dressed appropriately. more

Splendid place to get to know each other 10/19/2005

I thoroughly enjoyed spending an evening getting to know a new friend here. The staff was friendly and open. The cheese tray was delicious and the wine was a great. I would recommend this establishment to any one. Pros: staff, atmosphere Cons: parking more

Fantastic!! 8/5/2005

The Village Cork offers an experience I have found nowhere else in Denver. The comfortable European atmosphere creates the prefect enviornment for that special night out. Pros: service, atmosphere, wine list more

One of my favorites 4/22/2005

Village Cork deserves the praise it receives. Denver needs more places like this. The wine list is short, but well selected. The foods pair nicely with the wine and the desserts make Village Cork a perfect after-dinner spot. more
