3 of my friends and I bought a facial and massage deal for this day spa. When I was about to get my massage, I was not informed that a man will be the one who gave me the massage. I told the lady who assisted me to the room that I'm not comfortable with a man giving me a massage, she said, only 2 people do the massage, 1 woman and 1 man, since the other woman will do the massage for my friend, I suggested that I will just wait for my turn, or I will just reschedule my appointment. The lady, Sanead that other masseuse, was very unprofessional and mentioned that I cannot reschedule, and my voucher is forfeited, she even said that I'm making the situation akward. It is like take it or leave it. She even said that she will definitely not so my massage and I'm wasting their time. The other lady even blame me that I should have told them that I don't want a man beforehand. I was not given an option at all. The place was nice though and heard that they do good services. But the way they treated the issue was very unprofessional. This does not deserve even a 1 star. I will never recommend this place to anyone. more

Went for spa wk massage. Place was very inviting as soon as you walk in with wonderful friendly staff. Changng area with lockers were very nice, has 2 showers if you need & nice sofa to sit with snacks while waiting. Entire experience was so relaxing that I know I will go back for future treatment. It's in soho so nice place to shop afterwards. So happy I got to try this spa on spaweek. I feel like I discovered a gem. more

you need loads of patience 9/21/2010

Wanted to try this spa due to the positive reviews. Booking an appointment is a task and a half while receptionist puts you on hold forever. If not for the raves about this spa, the unprofessional manner/system of answering every new call while you are put on hold several times is a total turn off. You do need the massage after the stress of trying to have a full sentence in without being cut off ! more

Relaxing! 3/29/2010

My daughter and I were in NYC this past weekend to celebrate her 16th birthday. As a suprise, I made her and appointment for her 1st massage and reflexology. When we walked in the Mezzanin Spa I knew I made the right choice. Her jaw dropped! It was a tranquil, relaxing environment. She loved the experience so much she fell asleep. We will surely visit again when back in the city. Thanks to everyone there Pros: peaceful, quiet, professional more

Great place for a facial! 7/10/2009

I recently had an IS Clinical Facial with Jillian and I left the spa with an amazing glow. I swear, my skin looked about ten years younger and it felt cleaner, fresher, smoother, and refreshed. Jillian really knows her stuff ! The spa is a soothing place and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The fact that the spa is supervised by a doctor really shows in the more advanced and thorough services they provide. I will be back ! Very pleased with the facial and the results. Jillian also introduced me to the IS line which is amazing. Again, my skin looks better than it has in years! Pros: Excellent facial w/attentive professional staff Cons: none! more

great service 6/9/2009

Visiting new york on a quick trip, my friends took me to Soho for some shopping. We decided to walk down a quiet street to get away from the huge crowds on Broadway and came across this spa. Luckily they took walk-ins and I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful this place is. I had one of their specials, a deep pore cleansing facial and my friend had a massage. We didn't want to leave. I'm definitely going back next time I'm in town. Look for it on Crosby...between spring and broome. Ladies its 2 doors down from bloomies! Pros: friendly staff, located on a quiet street more

Great medical pedicure and bikini wax! 6/6/2009

I am now a regular for the medical pedicure with Marcela - a professional who is really committed to her work and her clients' experience. She is professional, calming, thorough, meticulous, and you never feel rushed or like you are a number. It is truly a stress relieving get away and my feet emerge soft and lovely. I added on a bikini wax last time - almost brazilian I'll call it -- my first to that extent - and again, I give Marcella an A+. The waxing room is spacious and clean - Marcella once again is extremely professional and makes you feel comfortable. The strawberry hard wax was used on the bikini - very little pain and redness - with great results. My hubby is happy with the results too ! Pros: Great work, clean, Marcella is the best more

very relaxing 2/27/2009

My husband gave me a gift certificate for valentine's day for a Mezzage and a Micro Derm Peel. I was scared at first because I never had this treatment, but my skin felt so soft after the micro derm. I didn't want the massage to end! I am definitely going back for my birthday. Pros: very professional more

Hidden Oasis 2/27/2009

I have lived in soho for 7 years and didn't even know about the spa until I heard about it from my neighbor. I was very happy with my deep tissue massage and will definitely be going back for more. It was a great massage and so close to home! more

VERY NICE SPA 7/21/2008

I like to get my waxing. I have been to countless locations and been through hell more times than I care to remember and Marcela is by far the best I've ever been to. She is friendly, professional, funny and might I add damn good at her job. Other seem to just want you in and out quickly, not caring about your threshold for pain. Marcela , she'll make sure you're comfortable and not make you squirm. I used to have a problem with breakout after waxing, but that hasn't happened once since I' haven been seeing Marcela . Regardless of all the queries I've made to other groomers, she seems to be the only one who gets it right. I can not say enough about Mezzanine Spa. The medical pedicure was so relax my feet are very soft and smooth The location is convenient .BIG ROOMS NICE MUSIC GOOD WAXING AND MEDICAL PEDICURE. more

medical pedicure and brazilian wax best exp. ever 7/14/2008

This is the only place I would go for a Brazilian bikini wax in the city.. Brazilian's cost $70 here, but I don't care if some think that's pricey. You pay for what you get. One of my girlfriends pays $23 for her Brazilian , I'm scared to go there. She can't even remember if they wear gloves while doing her wax.!!!! Mezzanine Spa is clean, gloves are worn, Don't Double Dip the wax is a special, chocolate hard wax . Marcella is the best. Oh the medical pedicure is very good to . My feet are very soft now and no callus. Very good exp. more

Best spa in experience in NYC 7/1/2008

Getting married in NYC is hectic as it is, so when my girls decided to throw my bachelorette party at the Mezzanine spa, I was ecstatic. I had a wonderful aromatherapy facial and one of the best massages I've ever had. Not to mention an incredible medical pedi and mani that still have my nails immaculate. I can't wait to go back. All of my friends had wonderful things to say about their therapists. Well worth the trip! Pros: great ambience, friendly and knowledgeable staff Cons: you lose track of time more

Best spa in NYC 5/6/2008

I just had the best experience at the Mezzanine Spa. My wonderful boyfriend treated me to a relaxing Message, facial, and a medical pedicure. The proffesional staff and enviroment made it easy to relax, and enjoy myself. I enjoyed the services so much, i bought several gift certificates for Mothers day, and decided to treat myself by booking another appointment for next week. Conviently located in Soho, The Mezzanine Spa is easy to get to. I've been to many spa's and The Mezzanine Spa is by far my favorite Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, super nice staff, many great serviced available more

Mezz. Spa, great workers! Excellent results! 4/1/2008

I use to be a regular client at the Mezzanine Spa with Maria but unfortunately she left, however I went back not two weeks ago and to my suprise she is once more back! I had the most comfortable and well-made medical pedicure ever, and I'm happy to hear my pedicurist is back on the job. *I am in no way related to Maria, I just enjoy receiving excellent service for my money. Pros: Excellent staff, very pleasant and down-to-earth Cons: Can't think of any. more

Medical Pedicure 7/24/2007

I just had the best medical pedicure. The staff at the Mezzanine are so polite and charming. I was treated with care and attention. The pedicure TABLE, yes Table reclined to my comfort and the technician made sure of that; I fell asleep. They told me of their Tuesday 20% off special this summer '07 " WOW " - so i plan to sample of their treatments. Its on the most calming block - Crosby St - between Spring and Broome. Go for it... Pros: great location - Quit block more

thank you mom 7/22/2007

as a teen i am always a little shy and afraid of these experiences but the Mezzanine Spa made me feel so good and comfortable. it was a present from my mom. but it was not bubble gummy there, it was sophisticated so i did not feel treated like a kid, but like an adult savvy new yorker. they even called the doctor in to ask a question and she was sooooooooo great and so nice and so smart. she knew exactly what i had been doing wrong that i could change and worked so well with the staff to clear up my skin which is now beautiful. besides the facial working great, i relaxed more than i have in ages. i am bringing all my friends. Pros: great doctor director, friendly , available, treatments work!!!! Cons: wanted to stay all day but had to leave more

fantastic experience. reasonable pricing. a lot for your money. amazing. 7/22/2007

great spa. beautiful, relaxing. my skin was glowing. physician right there for a question. professional staff. unhurried, top of the line. go for the custom facial. they tell you what your skin needs. the facialists are experienced . also grabbed their "mezzage" massage. UNREAL. i was jello when i left. it was a great break from the hectic pace in nyc. location in soho was ultra convenient. highly recommended more

great massages 2/13/2006

great massages... but that's it. Just had their hot stone massage and it wa amazing... I found the facials so so... They do not have steam room nor a Sauna. They don't even provide body lotions for clients? What gives? Pros: great massage, nice staff Cons: waiting room, no body lotion, no wet/dry sauna more

User review by lisachristine 5/29/2005

one of the best massages, if not the best, i've ever had (and i've had quite a few!) Pros: atmosphere, skill of masseuse Cons: creaky floors more

A perfect day 3/19/2005

I went to the Mezzanine spa with my mother on 3-18-05. We had a perfect day. We had several treatments scheduled and each one was better than the next. The environment was soothing and relaxing. The staff were all very caring and professional. Everyone took their time and we never felt rushed. The massage by Jason was out of this world. I then went for a custom body scrub and body polish with Vilma. The treatment is awesome, but it's well worth the price just to be able to get into the monsoon shower! The custom facial was so relaxing, I wished I could stay on the soft heated mattress forever. The ancient chiropody pedicure was well worth it and Marie was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I can't wait to go back! more
