Learning Fun 4/8/2006

A fairly inexpensive way to entertain the kids for a few hours, the Magic House was always a favorite of mine growing up, and I can't wait to take my kids there when they are old enough! I have visited recently with friends' and their children, and the 'aw' factor definitely still exists. Very easy access in Kirkwood, Missouri - staff is friendly and facilities very well-maintained. more

Great family place 3/24/2006

I have always loved the Magic House and considered it a real jewel in the heart of Saint Louis County. Located in Kirkwood, it is easy to get to and really has a nice residential type feel to it when you are traveling there. Parking is plentiful, and it is a really wonderful place to take family especially if there are children. Little ones will be amazed and have so much fun here as there are many exhibits and activities for them to participate in. I highly recommend the Magic House if you are wanting to spend a few hours with the kids. more

A repeat visit for sure! 11/1/2005

The magic house! Say that in a room full of children and you will hear screams and shouts for sure. Each time your child will find a new adventure that they seem to have over looked the time before. Admission is minimal - however there are coupons on the St Louis Family Attractions Card - (avail at Schnucks) - Free child's admission with a paying adult. They also offer half price admission every day to the military! Every third Friday of the month is FREE family fun night. The magic house is then free to your entire family from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. more

Amazing, but can get expensive and is usually crowded. 10/20/2005

Avoid the Magic House on a "free family night" because you will not be able to get through the door. Although the "touch tunnel" is gone, the old winding slide is still present and there is lots of hands on fun for old and young alike. more

Great Place for Family Fun 9/26/2005

The Magic House is a great place to go for family fun. Most exhibits are geared to preschool and early grade school aged students but are fun for visitors of all ages. My personal favorite exhibits are the electrostatic ball and the wall that holds your shadow after you move. When they were younger my daughters loved to spend time in the pretend village acting out roles in various businesses. The Magic House is the place to visit anytime you are looking for something to do. more

Fun and Educational 9/24/2005

This is such a great place to take kids. There are many floors of fun, hands on, educational things for them to do. The Magic House is great for all ages, and they even have an outdoor exhibit every once in a while. Parking is tight sometimes, and the house can be crowded, so you might want to try to go during the week. more

Fun Fun 9/21/2005

The magic house is so much fun for kids! Beginning with the magic static ball that’s makes your hair stand up on end for a minute! Don’t forget when playing house what your job is, they have many occupations to try out! Make time for the fishpond too. Time does go by fast at the magic house! Perfect for all ages of children 1-99! more

The Magic House 8/25/2005

I love this place as much as the kids. I think the yearly membership is a great value. It pays after the third visit for us plus it has ten guest passes for the year. There is so much for the kids to do here and for all ages. My kids can spend all day and not get bored. more

Fascinating place to play 8/18/2005

The Magic House is truly a St. Louis gem. This children's museum (if museum is really the right word for it) allows people to take a hands-on approach to science. This is a great place to take a family, and the adults are as likely to find it interesting as the kids. If you like the Magic House, also check out the Science Museum. more

Great place to bring kids 8/18/2005

The Magic House is located in Kirkwood and is a great place to bring young children. Here, young and old alike can get a static hair makeover as well as explore the wonderful world of magic and illusions. Well, not so much but the place definitely can excite the young ones. For adults though, the place is interesting once or twice but most adults go there to entertain the kids and not themselves anyway. more

Fun and Learning for the Whole Family 8/16/2005

When we are looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, we head to The Magic House. This children's museum is a treasure trove of activities that the entire family can enjoy. The biggest attraction for my family is the static ball - where you place your hand on a metal ball and static electricity makes your hair stand out. Our straight hair is taken to new heights, literally, and it's always fun to see. There are slides, legos, learning about how sound waves travel, a wall to make living sculpture and many more ways that the kids are entertained. more

Fun little place to take the kids 8/15/2005

This is a gem in the heart of St. Louis County. You'll almost miss it driving if you aren't looking for it. There are a variety of activities and fun things for your children to do, and adults even have fun here. It's easy to get in and out of, and there is ample parking for those busy weekends. The cost is fairly reasonable too. If you are looking for something different, look no further than the Magic House in Kirkwood. more

You'll be dragging the kids (and husband) home 8/11/2005

A giant playhouse where kids learn and may not realize it. And of course a 3 story slide too. Other areas include an extensive Lewis and Clark exhibit, interactive displays (my daughter calls them "games") on various science concepts as physics, magnetism, etc, various rooms for pretend play, and a static ball where you can get your picture taken with your hair standing on end. more

Outstanding children's museum 8/11/2005

We're so fortunate to have the Magic House here in St. Louis. It is a fun, stimulating place for children of all ages. There are hands-on learning experiences for infants, toddler and children of all ages. The museum is housed in a 3 story Victorian home in Kirkwood and there are elevators to make it accessible to all. The Magic House also does birthday parties, a variety of educational programs and, of course, hosts field trips from schools and daycare centers. Such a fun family experience! more

The Magic House 8/11/2005

The magic house was fun for me as a kid and now is fun for my kids. They have a little city set with a grocery store, a bank, a restaurant and the electric company. This is fun and educational for the kids. They also have this big static ball that you can touch and it makes your hair stand up. There are a lot of different rooms on 3 levels and each room has a different theme. Not very expensive and you can usually find coupons for buy one get one free. Make sure and visit with the kids. more

Get up and go to the Magic House Right NOW! 8/11/2005

If you have kids, this is the place to go. The Magic House is a wonderful Childrens Museum located in Saint Louis. There is something for kids of all ages and everything is hands on. They offer a family free night one Friday nght per month and that is very nice, but get there early as the place gets PACKED! The Magic House really makes learning a fun experience for kids. This would be a nice place to go during the winter when it is too cold to do outdoor activities and you want to get your kids away from the tv. more

Fun for everyone. 7/22/2005

I have loved this Children's Museum since I was a child and now I love taking my kids there. There is so much to do I couldn't begin to describe it all but there are rooms that will appeal to everyone even babies. One must is everyone must have their picture taken on the static ball with their hair standing straight up. They also have party rooms available for weddings, company parties, and birthday parties. Don't go in the rain though it gets VERY crowded. more
