We had a very good experience with The Laptop Guy when my daughter's laptop screen was cracked. It was quick, easy and service was outstanding. Our IPAD 2 cracked several months...

I turned my laptop in and they said it would take 3 to 5 business days and I didnt get it back for about 3 weeks. They called me 3 seperate times telling me my comps problem sayin...

Work done, owner listens 12/22/2010

After posting an unsatisfactory review regarding my experience with the laptop guy about my misplaced laptop, the owner actually responded to my ad. Although I was very frustrated, I was ultimately shocked that the owner took this review seriously and called me back. I realize that even a computer solution store may have some system challenges and the laptop guy does take customer service seriously. First off, in my original review I was incorrect in mentioning that I spoke with the owner. Instead, I spoke with a Tech Manager. Secondly, the actual work and the problem of my computer was resolved and on time. Unfortunately, the miscommunication, the system glitch and the confusion at the store was my biggest frustration. Although, my experience was far from perfect, the fact that my computer is fixed and that the owner responded to my ad, I am satisfied with my experience. I hope they do work out the kinks because I would seriously give them another chance since the laptop guy does charges 25% less than the Geek Squad for a virus removal. more

Terrible customer service - Laptop misplaced 12/18/2010

Absolutely the worst customer service experience. Dropped off my laptop in Grandview but was serviced at the Gahanna location. Requested to have them hold the laptop in Gahanna since it would be on my way home from work. Instead it was returned to Grandview. After confirming with the home office that laptop was there, I was told when I arrived at the store that their system was down and they could not release or process any transactions. Ironically, a computer solution retailer did not have a solution around this issue. No option was given to me but only come back the next day. I called the home office after I left the store and they offered a payment over the phone. I returned back to the Grandview location explaining that I had paid at full and once again another issue...I was told that my laptop was still with the courier and was not in the store. I went home without my laptop and received a call after store hours that my laptop was actually there the whole time. After explaining to the owner about my situation...He refused to give me anything more than 9% off my bill. He does not believe that service ends at the time of picking up your computer (if they can locate it). He argued that my computer was fixed at the estimated time frame although it was an oversight on their part that they could not locate my computer. I would rather pay the extra money and go to the Geek Squad. Do not waste your time and money at this place. more

Dirt Cheap Laptops 8/17/2005

I was shocked when I went into this store for the first time. It was unbelieveable how cheap he was selling fairly decent laptops. You aren't going to get the latest and greatest notebooks around but you also won't be paying the premium prices for those new machines either. If you are looking for something to serve as a portable web surfing machine and just want to run a few spreadsheets you can't beat paying a couple hundred dollars for a used laptop that has been fixed up locally versus paying 7 or 8 hundred for a new one. I even took in an old laptop that was ancient, they had no use for it because it was so old but they recycled it for me! more
