Wow...for the price me and my family paid this was no better than a Motel 6 or Dew Drop Inn. The staff were incredibly snobby, when my wife came down to the desk to inquire about ...

Great views 4/3/2006

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay in during a weekend great away to the city. The rooms are very nice and the beds are very comfortable, it is hard to get out of them in the morning. The views are unbelievable too. I have stayed here 3-4 times and every room I have had was spectacular. The staff is delightful too. We had a bachlorette party here one time and they went out of their way to get us anything that we needed. Great shopping and places to eat nearby. I will be coming back to this hotel for future stays. more

Great hotel 3/16/2006

The Westin downtown is a great place to get away overnight or for the weekend. (Also a place to suggest to your out-of-town guests if you don't want them crashing on your couch.) The Lobby Bar mixes some mean drinks, and it's a fun place to sit and people watch while killing some time. The rooms are spacious, and their "Heavenly Beds" are, indeed, heavenly. You'll get a great night's sleep here for sure. Definitely worth a look when you're in the market for a Seattle hotel. more

Decent Seattle hotel in a good location 8/19/2005

I've stayed at this hotel twice -- in September 2004 and June 2005. Most recently I arrived for a simple overnight on my way back from Melbourne, Australia. I'd been traveling for the better part of a day, Alaska Airlines had lost one of my bags, I arrived at the hotel tired and wanting a room. I share this by way of leading up to the major problem with this hotel. Arriving in the driveway, there was a ton of activity. No one was available to meet the cab or help with luggage (the ones that Alaska DIDN'T send to Reno). Dragged the bags inside and upstairs myself. Next comes the checkin area. It is seemingly ALWAYS busy. This is a huge hotel, and while there are several people at the front desk there's never enough for the volume they do. Fortunately there's a SPG Gold/Platinum checkin line in a separate 'room' at the far right, but even that had a line. Checkin agent appeared to act like checking me in was a great chore, standing in the way of something she'd rather be doing. I've never had a problem getting a room with direct view of the water. The views here are wonderful. Continuing the theme of busy hotel staff -- too busy to help -- I asked about a bellman to assist with luggage and was told that I could wait (awhile) for one, but that I'd probably just want to take bags upstairs myself. I had a room view a great view of the water on a high floor, somewhere in the 30s. Heavenly bed is great as usual. Heavenly bath more or less limited to a shower curtain extending out into the bathroom to create the illusion of a bigger shower/tub. Room itself was a bit worn, scratches in the wallpaper and some stains in the bathroom. Upshot on the property is that the rooms are fine, views are nice esp. if you are facing the water, but it's very busy and geared towards conventions. I prefer the W and Sheraton. more

Best View of Seattle 8/17/2005

One of the things that defines Seattle to the visitor or long time resident is the famous Space Needle that sticks out of the skyline. I enjoyed a wonderful view of this landmark from my 30th floor hotel room at the Westin Seattle. The room itself was very plain, had all of the amenities I needed, but the view was worth every dollar spent! more

Great service, huge rooms and the amazing heavenly bed... 8/15/2005

The lobby of the Westin seems endless- leading the several elevators which can be a little confusing. The staff is quite helpful and one will eventually find the right way to their room. The hotel is located right across the street from the bustling Pacific Place center which offers a wide variety of shops, restaurant's and a theater. It is also within walking distance of Westlake Center and Pike's Market. more
