In the 1970s & 1980s, the Water Club was a hot spot to eat at largely due to its fantastic location on the East River. After dining here, I felt like I had peeked back into time. It must have been a delight in its heyday.
The food was fine, not great. Lobster was cold when it should have been warm and one steak in our party was a bit overcooked. It didn't help that there was a large party for a 70th birthday right next to us - imagine enjoying your cocktail with a 6 year old granddaughter running past with a balloon...kills a bit of the ambiance. A cab is pretty much a necessity if you choose to eat here.
