I Love This Store 12/29/2006

I have been a loyal customer of The Shoe Zoo and have followed them from place to place. I have never had such great service and selection at any other children's shoe store. The variety of shoes, knowledge of staff, and atmosphere are unbeatable. My kids will not let me purchase shoes anywhere else (maybe it's the cookies they receive when we are ready to leave), but whatever it is, I love this store! more

shoe zoo doesn't have good velcro shoe selection 11/6/2006

for kids' shoes, i have been to nordstrom and payless shoes both at northgate mall, sole food, and to the shoe zoo, but none of these stores seems to emphasize (let alone offer) easy velcro shoes. i always go for kids shoes that have 2 things: (1) one (not two) wide velcro strap, and (2) wide-tongue so that you can splay the shoe wide open... that is what i want as a busy mom who is juggling a baby and a 2 year old. shoe zoo only had one model for boys and a couple umi brand pink boots for girls. the store does have free easy parking and helpful knowledgable staff -- just no shoes i want to buy. so, i won't go back on the other hand, zappos on-line has tons of shoes with just one velcro strap that open up wide to make putting the shoe on a little foot super easy (you can even search for such shoes on their website as they have a whole search category for 'hook-and loop' aka velcro). so, i bought on ebay a childrens brannock device which is the foot measuring device and now i just measure my kid's foot at home and then order on line. easier than visiting the shoe zoo, prices are better on line, and you don't have to bundle the baby or look for parking. sorry, shoe zoe. zappos is not only easier, it is superior. more

Love this place 4/25/2006

The staff here gives great advice on picking out shoes for your little one. It was the only place we'd go while my daughter was still a toddler. They have a great selection and the staff really cares about helping you put the right shoe on your baby's foot. more

the shoe zoo is a great place for toddler shoes 4/24/2006

i'm a working mom and impatient by nature so when i have to get something done, i want it done right, but also done quickly. recently my 11 month-old son needed his first pair of walking shoes. so off we went to shoe zoo on blakely behind uvillage. it was easy to get to, there was parking out front, when i walked in someone helped me (us) immediately and set us up with parker's first pair of walking shoes. it took like 3 minutes, and yet i felt like they took care to get the size right, lay out our options, help us compare etc. etc. it was thorough AND fast! and for those sleep deprived caffeine addicts out there, the new zoka is across the street. i love it. fyi, the only alternative i know about is nordies - but it's soooo much more difficult to drag a baby downtown. don't do it unless you just want to go to nordies for your own nefarious purposes (not that there's anything wrong with that). more

The "Shoe Zoo" for kids is back in town! 4/11/2006

Yay! The "Shoe Zoo" shoe store has re-opened in a brand new location! The "Shoe Zoo" is absolutely the best shoe store for kids in the middle price range. They always have a great stock of styles (do you want the sneakers with light ups or without? velcro fasteners or ties?....) And they carry these styles in different widths!!! Which is often overlooked but essential for a comfortably fitting shoe --at any age. So whether the kids need sandals, tennis shoes, dressy or good all around playtime classics this is the place to check out! 2920 NE BLAKELEY ST. Seattle 206-525-0073 (this is the street just east of the U-Village shopping area, between Pinocchio's Toys and All the Best Kid's Books and Music) OPEN Mon-Fri 10-7, Sat 10-6 Sun 11-5 more
