The Rosebud Cafe on Taylor Street has the Best Fettuccine Alfrado in Chicago. A creamy pasta dish that makes me smile with every bite.

Dining outside was nothing short of waiting for a drive-by shooting. Although the hosts and server were very kind and welcoming to us, we noticed ...

Great 5/28/2006

I think Rosebud makes for a very cute date spot. They serve Italian food that is actually pretty good. Everything they give comes in large portions and is always fresh and tasty. If you do plan on going here, keep in mind that it gets packed, but you should request outdoor seating if the weather is nice. Its a beatiful palce to sit outisde and enjoy the good food and the excellent service. more

Not as good as I was told 3/18/2006

I expected Rosebud to be somewhat above average. The food are just average, the calamari was tender, but the rest are just ok. After the appetizer, we had to wait for a long time for the main course to arrive, the tiramisu is too sweet. I always have brown sugar with my cappuccino, and they do not any brown sugar in the restaurant. What kind of Italian restaurant is that ? The bill was definitely a lot higher than their food quality and service. Do not come to Rosebud if you are hungry, because you are going wait for quite sometimes for your main course, and do not come if you have higher expectation from the $$ that you're gonna have to spend. Totally OVERRATED. more

Overrated. 9/27/2005

I expected a lot more from a place that bills itself as "THE" Rosebud. The service was absolutely horrendous. First, the host was beyond rude when inquiring if we had a reservation. Um, we were there early on a Tuesday night and the restaurant itself was practically empty. Second, when we finally were seated, the waiter seemed to be busy anywhere else but our table. Finally, the food was average at best. My lasagna was good, but nothing special considering the price. My husband's food was terribly bland and he is not hard to please. Needless to say, we definitely will not return. more
