SLIDERS! 2/7/2010

If you haven't yet been to The Park to taste their sliders you are missing out on life! They are SOOO good! I crave them at least once a week! They have chicken, beef, and crabcake sliders that you can "mix and match!" Definitely recommend them! Yummy! more

Great DJ!!!! 1/25/2010

I think that the music at The Park is supreme to all other spots. Best DJ's by far in my opinion, all willing to mix it up with hip hop top 40 or mashups. I find that The Park has a good selection of guest DJ's too. Not sure who books em but I've seen some cool peeps from NYC, Vegas, even Orlando. The resident DJ's are sick too. Any place can put some guy and two turntables to play a few songs. The Park actually has DJ's!!!! And contrary to popular belief, a good DJ never needs to take requests, cause he's already knows the records! more

Awesome table service 1/20/2010

Table service at The Park is the best!!!! Me and my friends got into the club no sweat. And lemme say that our hostess was super nice and accomodating, and SUPER HOT!!! Bottle after bottle we let loose last Friday. If you party hard then Park is a winner. more

Consistently great time 1/19/2010

Everytime I come in here, no matter how stressfull my day was, I grab a drink and find myself having a good time and relaxed - The bartenders are fun and not stuck up like some other places - They always have the football game on that I want to see -- My favorite after work spot on Thurs/Fri more

Great Transition 1/14/2010

Trust me when I say that the Park is very good at transitioning from a restaurant to a lounge. My friends and I ate there for dinner last Thursday night. We came just in time to grab some sliders and entrees (I had the sea bass which by the way had a very nice taste). We got our checks around 10ish and closed out to find that the party had started! The music was very upbeat and bumpin. We went to the higher levels of the club and had a great time afterwards. Bartenders were super accommodating to us! A little packed as we moved from floor to floor, but it was interesting for me to see how we had just come for dinner and seamlessly entered a lounge to have a fantastic night out. Kudos to the Park. more

Detail Oriented 1/12/2010

Park is a big club with a lot of people. So it's no surprise to me that there is always a line. What does impress me is how the employees deal with all the people. It's the little things like coat check that made my life simplier!! Despite the number of people crowding around coat check, it was a well-organized quick drop off when we arrived and a quick pick-up when we were ready to leave of my friend's and my coats! more

Great Place 1/11/2010

I love The Park!!! My friends and I go out there almost every week it seems. We come for the happy hour and stay for the lounge. Always a hot crowd and the place is jumpin. more

So fun and so close! 1/11/2010

Iâ??m more of the dancing type than the drinking type, so music and a good crowd are important to me when I go out. And yes The Park lived up to my standards. They had an amazing DJ who played every top hit, hip hop top 40 mash ups you name it! He even played music videos on the TVâ??s to the song he spun, so so cool!!! And the floor was packed with a great vibe of people. Didnâ??t know what to expect at first, but the parties at Park deliver! more

Night on the Town 1/10/2010

I have been to The Park on multiple occasions but I had never been for dinner until this past Friday. I had heard so many people rave about the food at The Park that I decided to go and try the food for myself. It was pretty busy but we didnâ??t wait for more than five minutes for a table. Once we were sat, our waitress was super nice and very attentive. All of the food was delicious, but the crab cakes were especially noteworthy. Being one of my favorite meals, I have had my share of crab cakes (good and bad), but these were out of this world. We ordered the appetizer portion first, and I ended up getting them for my meal as well! D.C. does not have too many choices for great food, but The Park will not disappoint you. more

My New Favorite Place 1/10/2010

I had never been to the Park before but after going Iâ??ll definitely be back! Iâ??ve been to a few other clubs in DC where the bouncers are a bit snobby, but I didnâ??t feel that here. The man outside was very courteous to my friends and I, just asked for our IDâ??s and let us right in! He even held the door for us, what a sweetie. The bartenders were also very friendly, upstairs one recommended a lovely merlot I started off with and made me some new cocktails I never had. Iâ??m already looking to celebrate my birthday there. more

Drinks! 1/10/2010

I went to the park in search of somewhere where I knew I could just get a good, consistent, reliable drink in D.C. The first night I went, I was very impressed. They made my cosmopolitan just how I like it. But anyone could get lucky and make a good drink once. I came back a second night the next week for a â??follow-upâ? visit. Perfect again! The park has a new repeat customer. Trust me, let them have a try at making your favorite drink! Iâ??m sure youâ??ll be impressed too! more

Love to get tables there! 1/10/2010

Canâ??t go to The Park unless I get a table! Iâ??ve been there a few times and just about every time I feel more inclined to be exclusive. For the perks you get with a table Iâ??d say itâ??s well worth it. No long line waits. Your own space so you donâ??t have to bump into people awkwardly lol. A big table with a fast server that brings the bottles out in style. And above all, the feeling of a VIP!!! I canâ??t tell you how much I hate having to stand outside to pay a cover and party with large crowds on a busy floor. The Park is one of my favorite places to be, so I do it up to enjoy myself. Treat yourself people, youâ??ll see the difference!!! more

Cool Bouncers 1/7/2010

Big thanks to the security outside for helping me and my friends get in! I thought he would make us wait in line forever but we just came up to the front and asked if the party was going on. He just checked our IDâ??s and let us right through the door, no problem. Good to know not every club has the snotty bouncer. more

definitely great fun 1/6/2010

The Park was our choice last Saturday. Experience was a 5 star from the door to the bar. Entrance was a little chaotic but i guess this is the story of every club. Once we got in we were mesmerized how gorgeous the club was and very spacious. Dj was great, my bartender was fast and women were beautiful,. That was all we could ask as 2 guys going out on a Saturday night. We will definitely be back. more

Great food 1/5/2010

Great for dinner. I love the Parkâ??s entrees, especially the ribeye and the sea bass. I switch between them whenever I go depending on if Iâ??m in the mood for meat or seafood. I like that you get a good option of sides to choose from to accompany the dish. If you go try the loaded baked potato, but if youâ??re into a lighter meal the salads have a great flavor. The price is very reasonable for the portions you get, and you canâ??t beat the taste. Park is definitely on my list of favorite places to dine on K Street. more

I had SO MUCH FUN at The Park last week for my birthday!!!!  Iâ??m still uploading all the pics to my Facebook lol.  My girls treated me to a table on the 3rd floor, it was amazing. We had a bunch of people with us too but didnâ??t have any problem getting into the club.  They had a separate line for us, just checked our IDâ??s and let us in.  I already felt very exclusive J, but the table itself made me feel like a true VIP.  They roped us off in front of the whole crowd while everyone was dancing, and then the servers brought out two bottles of Greygoose with these cool sparklers!  Everyone turned to watch as the bottles arrived.  Then the server brought out my birthday cake, everyone sang to me. It was a birthday to remember! more

WHAT A PARTY! 12/29/2009

I booked a bottle service at The Park to celebrate my twenty sixth birthday with some friends. I usually dread having to plan my birthday because it always becomes such a hassle, but the staff made it so easy from the very beginning! I called the bottle service line and had a table booked in five minutes! They said they would take care of everything. From the moment I got there, I felt like a celebrity...even the front door staff was excited that it was my birthday! A host walked me to my table where I was greeted by an extremely enthusiastic cocktail waiter. The whole staff was SO excited to be there which made my birthday celebration all the merrier! I definitely recommend The Park to anyone looking for a good time!!!!!!!! more

Such a Nice Break from the ususal D.C. Nightlife 12/29/2009

I go out in D.C. a lot. I usually stay more in the Dupont circle or Georgetown areas, but my friends told me about The Park so I thought I would give it a try. We went there on a Saturday night, and it was one of the best parties I have been to in a long time. The inside was so swanky, I almost forgot I was in D.C. for a second! The bartenders were great; the place was packed and I still had no problem at all getting my drink quickly...not to mention it was made impeccably. We made our way through all four floors enjoying the wide variety of music playing as we moved. I swiped a slider off of the waiter that was passing them, and quickly decided that I would definitely be joining them for dinner in the near future! It was a great night!!!!! more

Where Luxury Meets Lounge 11/29/2007

By Fritz Hahn Washington Post Weekend Section Friday, November 30, 2007 The scene :"We've tried to come across as though we're not really open," says Dirk Van Stockum, one of the threee owners behind the club. "We're looking for people who have the right fit for us, whether it's how they handle themselves or how they look." The crowd is diverse: black and white, 20s through 50s, buttoned-down and trendy. The club uses a network of "ambassadors" to talk the place up and invite people. The patrons are more mature than at some nightspots, but that's fine with Van Stockum. "We feel our niche is appealing to an older, more professional demographic that doesn't feel catered to right now," he says. The space : Two of the city's best-known night-life entrepreneurs -- Marc Barnes, the man behind Love, and Masoud Aboughaddareh (a.k.a. Masoud A.), the longtime promoter and owner of Lima -- join forces with Van Stockum, formerly of '90s D.C. hotspots Club Zei and Fifth Column, late of the celebrity-ridden Tao restaurant and lounge in Las Vegas, after years in New York and Miami. Together, the trio opens a warm, four-story lounge and restaurant near 14th and K streets. Eschewing the minimalist and modern decor that you'd find at nearby kstreet or Lotus, all four floors of the glass-fronted building exude luxury. Warm chestnut and mahogany, onyx-topped bars, leather sofas, soft carpet and gleaming hardwood floors -- think of the loungier parts of Love writ large. The second and fourth levels have balconies that let patrons watch the action below. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in light and make the Park airier than most lounges and offer a view of Franklin Park and the scene outside the velvet ropes (and, um, the Kinko's next door). In your glass : Four house cocktails, one for each floor, named after former first ladies. Examples: The Jackie O. has a simple recipe (Plymouth gin and lemon juice), but it gets a nice kick from fresh sage; the Lady Bird uses Hennessy, Lillet, agave and some Moet for texture. Glasses on upper floors are composite plastic instead of glass, just in case someone on a balcony drops one to a dance floor below. (I've seen it happen.) Need to know : Admission is, Van Stockum says, "invitation only," but don't be deterred. He says it's easy to get one. "Call our receptionist and speak to them. Look at the Web site. Make reservations. Reach out to us. See what we're trying to do. Nine times out of 10, people are welcomed." It's possible to go without an invitation and talk your way in, but you'll need to dress well, have a small party in which women outnumber men and arrive early. The door staff has mastered the fine art of barely acknowledging people who are trying to get their attention, even those on the list. As for dress, I've seen people wearing suits. I've seen Adidas track tops and jeans. I've seen the shirt-khakis-tie combo on Saturday night. When in doubt, look better than usual. Nice to know : The higher you climb, the more crowded it is. That's where the small, curtained VIP room is, so the crowds figure that's where they want to be. As a result, getting a drink is a struggle upstairs, but a quick elevator ride to the first floor leads to service with very little waiting. The club also has a small patio with couches and heat lamps through the back of the first floor. Price points : There's never a cover charge. House cocktails run $12. If you want to reserve a table, it's a minimum of $500 with a group of four to eight. If you want to claim a sofa, be prepared to spend a combination of $500 or more on food, martinis, champagne or whatever. What people are saying :"It's got an international flavor, and it's usually not too packed. The ratio of men to women is pretty good, which is unusual for D.C." says Shane Zamani, a physician. One of my guests said that if she didn't return, it would be because the bouncers made it such a hassle to go there, and we had reservations. more
