Very Romantic 2/15/2008

When you think of a fondue place you might think of a retro 70?s shag carpet restaurant filled psychedelic outfits, but you are in for a pleasant surprise. With reservations, about 15 minute wait for a table, better than the 2 hour without reservations. The foyer was rather small so waiting in the bar might be a good choice. However, the drawback to doing that is, before being seated at your table you have to settle your bar tab, they will not add it to your bill, inconvenient. Your hostess guides you through a maze of tables strategically positioned tables which make it appear you?re the only ones in the restaurant. If you happen to see a couple they are leaning close to each other. Trying not to look to long at the couple, you look around you notice the dim lighting, oak wood; granite table tops which adds to the romance in the air. ?The Big Night Out.? Provides you with a sampling of the best they has to offer. Your choices are not over ?Ok, for our starter, you can choose one from any of our six choices of cheese,? the waiter starts out. The choices range from simple to extravagant. Depending on your pallet of desire, Wisconsin Cheese Trio is delicious. A combination of Fontina, Butterkase and Buttermilk Bleu Cheeses . Your cheese fondue is masterfully mixed & melted at your table while you watch. Next is the salad. An excellent choice is the Athenian Salad. Although you are enjoying your food you start to become exasperated with your waiter for not returning to refresh your drink or to check if you need anything. Finally he shows up with arms laden with all sorts of yummy tidbits for you to enjoy. He begins mixing your broth for the cooking style of your main course. The Coq au Vin is delicious. The dessert of Flaming Turtle, an exquisite combination along with a plate of rice crispies, strawberries, brownie bites. All of which is so heavenly you are tempted to pick up and lick it clean, but that would not look proper. Pros: Ambience, price, choices Cons: don't see your waiter often, have to pay at the bar before being seated more

Bad customer service 1/16/2008

For the amount of money that you pay for fondue, I have to say I was very dissapointed with the service. I have been there a couple of times and both times, it seems as though servers took 10-15 minutes to even give us water. I don't think I will be returning to this establishment. If I want great service, I am going to stick to La Fondue! Pros: The food was decent and the desserts were very good Cons: Service was awful. I mean how hard is it to set food on the table. They don't even have to cook the food, just drop it off and the customer does the rest! more
