The Machine Shed is very similar to a Cracker Barrel, however I think their food is better. Home cooking is what you'll get here, just like you were on a farm 50 years ago. The portions are huge and you'll likely take some home with you. With any meals comes great cole slaw and cottage cheese served family style. A must try is their baked potatoe soup! On your way stop and look around the gift shop, lots of toys, goodies, clothing and other fun stuff. On the way out pick up one of their absolutely gigantic chocolate chip cookies! more

Different Kind of Atmosphere 3/16/2006

If you're one of those that likes places like the Cracker Barrel, you'll enjoy the Machine Shed. It's family friendly and basically comfort food. Prices are a bit higher. Just like the Cracker Barrel though, there is a gift store adjacent to the restaurant where all sorts of goodies can be found. As for the experience itself, all the servers wear overalls in honor of the American Farmer. Food portions are very generous and they give you rolls and coleslaw before your meal. There are ample choices ranging from burgers to steaks. I did actually order a steak and it was incredible. Prepared perfectly and smothered with onions and mushrooms. Overall it was a good experience but there are many other restaurants to choose from. more
