Take a dip 5/14/2011

Have you ever seen the pool? It juts out about 5 feet over the side of the building towards the street and its got a great "scene." The only time I knew anybody else was staying at the hotel was when I was at the pool - I think that's a good thing. more

Best Hotel in Dallas! 10/5/2009

The Joule is one of the trendiest, most chic hotels I have seen. The pool is great to enjoy during the day overlooking downtown or at night by the trendy bar. They are in the best location and the rooms are not too expensive. You are in great walking distance of awesome restaurants, shopping (Neimans is close by), bars and clubs. Pros: Pool, service, rooms, location more

Spectacular hotel 4/13/2009

My wife and I stayed at the Joule this past weekend and had an absolutely amazing time. The staff was attentive and prompt and the service was quick and accurate. We stayed in one of the smaller 2-room suites and all I can say about it is WOW. The design of the entire room was classy conteprorary and the bathroom was much larger than expected. Everything about the room and decor was top-notch. I know that there were other guests on our floor as well as other guests in the hotel but I would have never know it because we heard nothing through any of the walls the entire weekend. Everything in the room was in working order including the Bose wave radio with Ipod/Iphone dock which we took extensive advantage of. We were originally scheduled to stay one night but after seeing the room we immediately extended our stay for a second night. In short, we would highly recommend the Joule to anyone that wants up-scale luxury and a quiet place to stay. Pros: Outstanding service and location Cons: Their lounge/club (PM lounge) door guys more

spoiled wrotten 3/15/2009

I was crossing Main St. after Sunday lunch at the iron cactus and saw this pool of water curiously hanging out over the street... ten stories up. This caught my attention so much so that I walked back across the street and into the lobby of what I learned was The Joule. more

Owner Message

  • The first true designer hotel in Dallas, The Joule embodies a new sense of energy sweeping through the revitalized historic center. With its elegant ambience and exhilarating contemporary design by Adam D. Tihany, the 129-room hotel is in a very special class of its own. The restoration of the 1920s neo-gothic facade is further enhanced by a new 10-story tower and striking lobby. The building's legacy of scale allows for high columns, which are enhanced with new sweeping dark lime oak beam details evocative of the framework of oil derricks in the fields. Guestrooms, in compelling configurations including duplex suites and a penthouse with private access and a rooftop terrace, are invitingly sleek, with high-end finishes, inventive decor and original furniture designs that maximize the use of space. The deep blue, gray and burgundy-toned rooms feature iconic black and white photographs of downtown Dallas in its social, architectural and artistic light, specially commissioned for the hotel. Building off the hotel's theme, Charlie Plamer at The Joule expresses the energy of wind with subtle references throughout, including slow-moving turbines spinning from above and a collection of iconic photo-art pieces. The acclaimed chef and restaurateur has created a distinctively American menu that lets diners customize their selections. A trendsetting underground bar will offer a lively option for late-night cocktails.. Fitness Center
