We stopped in to the Corner Oyster Bar during our stay in New Orleans. We loved the authentic creole food! The service was friendly and the atmosphere enjoyable. We recommend it! more

This was the first place we visited upon arriving in new Orleans. If you want a good New Orleans experience this is the place for you. We got a half dozen of the char grilled oysters, and it turns out we could have eaten a dozen each. They were that good! The gumbo was great, and my crawfish po boy was exactly what I was looking for; French bread, fried crawfish tails, lettuce tomato, pickle, and a special mayo. We also ordered drinks and they were the best . I would recommend acme to anyone headed to New Orleans more

We ate here a couple of times during our stay in New Orleans and the food is truly excellent. Portions are generous to say the least and the waitress service is great. A good place to take in a football game and enjoy good food. Will definitely be back when next in the crescent city! more

Worst Customer Service 1/10/2012

Yesterday, I sat at the bar at Corner Oyster and waited ten minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. When she did, I requested a food menu and received a blue moon draft instead. When I corrected her she got snippy and slammed the beer in the garbage which splashed on my legs. Ten minutes later, I had someone take my order. I ordered an omelette and after thirty minutes I wondered where it was. I asked the bartender if she could check and she said it would be right out. Well, fifty-five minutes after ordering my food, still no omelette. I asked the bartender and was told my food will be out when it is ready. I told her that I know it doesn't take an hour to cook an omelette and that two tables that ordered after me was already eating. She argued with me about that and told me if I don't like it I could go elsewhere. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager and she said the manager was her husband and he won't give a damn. Im sure he doesn't know his inconsiderate wife costs his business money. So, I left and they tried to charge me foe a milk that I didn't even drink. Easily, the worst customer service I ever experienced. more

GREAT GUMBO! and Shrimp! 7/18/2011

We ate there twice on our stay in New Orleans, The New Orleans Sampler is the way to go! We also ordered Broiled Shrimp, Delish! Just the right amount of spice and kick! We spent two days walking around the French quarter sampling New Orleans many good dishes.... but nothing was quite as tasty as The Corner. Our last night in the City instead of trying another restaurant for fear of disappointment we opted to have a GREAT meal. As soon as we sat down our server recognized us! She was glad to see us back. Dominique serves and sees a lot of tourists for her to remember us among a sea of faces... That meant a lot! She was prompt friendly and one of the friendliest people we met during our stay in NOLA. Would I recommend a friend?......YES! more

WORST food EVER 1/6/2011

The worst restaurant experience I have EVER had. The food was absolutely horrible. The service was just as bad. We sat there and was ignored for ten minutes before anyone even came to our table. And there was one other table there. The pizza is worse than grocery store frozen food. I would rather eat vomit than ever walk into this place again. I even said something to the manager and they just walked away. more

Love the Bloody Mary 7/27/2010

My fella and I ate here the other day and did not know what to expect in a touristy part of town. The bloody mary was out of this world. I ordered the gumbo (awesome) he ordered the crawfish chicken(sooo good). The server Jes was very friendly and fast. The location is really good, right on Jackson Square, and the place is very big and open, so even though it was hot , it was not stuffy. I will be going back. With Saints season coming, this place will have my repeat business they have like 14 t.vs. Pros: Portions Good Cons: Crowded more

Poor Food, Poor Service, Not A Sports Bar 6/2/2009

The food was average at best. The service was fair. They add an automatic 16% gratuity to all checks regardless of the number of people eating. Don’t expect them to tell you this either because they don’t. Makes me wonder how many people actually add additional gratuity and don’t realize they’ve tipped twice. I normally would not expect to have an automatic tip for one person and I just happened to notice this as I signed my credit card receipt. I suggested to the waitress they let people know about their gratuity policy verbally and was simply told “it’s written on the menu”!\r \r The reason I chose this place was that they had at least 8 TV’s with sports showing and I was there to watch game 6 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. I asked if they would put the game on one of the main TV’s. They finally did get it on of the side TV’s. I then asked if they could turn the crappy 80’s music off and turn the sound for the game on and I was told the only games that they turn the sound up on are Saints games. Don’t let all the TV’s fool you into believing this is a sports bar because it’s not!\r Pros: Location Cons: Food and Automatic Gratuity more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - unless you want to get ripped off! 3/27/2009

Its hard to decide what's the worst thing about this place - the average but entirely overpriced food, the horrible service, the automatic 16% added gratuity on the horrible service or the fact that management argues with you when you try to resolve a problem.\r \r I went with a friend during Mardi Gras with a friend for lunch. The food was ok- I probably wouldn't go back but it wasn't horrible. Our service appeared drunk, SERIOUSLY, and told us a story about how he took a cab to work and found a digital camera in the cab and kept it (NICE ONE CHAD- way to be an honest and decent person!!) \r \r The bill was $58.85 to which they added 16% automatically ON A PARTY OF TWO. So the total with tax ended up being $74.01 which my friend and I split the check. I paid $37.01 and my friend $37.00. That should be the end of it. I have the signed copy as does my friend. WRONG. \r \r I called the manager when I found out that they charged me the FULL $74.01. In the course of the conversation the manager asked me if I had called earlier which I said I hadn't. Apparently he admitted that its happened ""a few times"". Honestly, I didnt' discover it untill I was reconciling my checkbook a month later- so this has been going on a LONG time. He explained that it happens when the server doesn't close out the ticket properly even AFTER the two cards were swiped and signed. \r \r The manager started arguing with me when I told him that it wasn't my fault his server didn't do his job properly and I was disputing the charge with my bank. I actually had to hang up on him because he started yelling about it. \r \r AVOID this place. Try Oceana!! Pros: Convenient Location Cons: Poor Service, Horrible Attitude, Automatic Gratuity more

THEY THOUGHT IT WAS SO GOOD THEY CHARGED THEM TWICE 3/23/2009

MY SON IS WITH A SERVICE ORGANIZATION HELPING TO REBUILD HOMES IN DOWNTOWN NEW ORLEANS. LAST WEEK HIS GROUP HAD DINNER HERE, THE LOCALS TOLD THEM IT WAS A GOOD PLACE TO WATCH THE TOURNAMENT, ALL THE BIG SCREENS. THE CHECKS CAME AND THE NEW WAITRESS TOLD THEM SHE COULD ONLY TAKE 2 CARDS, EVERYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE TO PAY CASH. THE CASH CUSTOMERS PAID THEIR BILLS, THEN THE ENTIRE GROUPS BILL WAS CHARGED TO MY SON'S CARD. HE WILL GET HIS MONEY REFUNDED TO HIM BY HIS BANK, HIS RECEIPT, SHOWS $37, HIS CARD WAS CHARGED $157; THE NEXT DAY HE RETURNED TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE ""MISTAKE"". THE GENERAL MANAGER TOLD HIM THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO AND SLAMMED THE DOOR IN HIS FACE. NICE WAY TO TREAT SOMEONE WHO'S THERE TRYING TO HELP OUT THE COMMUNITY....... Pros: NICE PLACE TO WATCH SPORTS Cons: BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES more

Sad experience 12/23/2008

Went there to have raw oysters. The waitress waited for us to have started on our drinks to mention that they were ""out of oysters"". So we had a pound of shrimp instead. They were hard, overcooked and too salty. I had a glass of wine but asked for a glass waiter after paying the bill (the salty shrimp...). The waitress said she was not allowed to serve tap water... I'm a local, but I felt ashamed thinking that tourists may have had the same sad experience more
