Decent food. Horrible customer service. 8/11/2010

I eat here pretty often because I work nearby. The food is decent. The employees are not. I have been there when there were a lot of people waiting and when it was just me and maybe one other customer and it's all the same--the guy who fixes the food rushes you through as if he has somewhere else to be. He looks at you like you're wasting his time if you pause for 2 seconds to think about what toppings you want. Then, he throws them on so fast half of them end up on the counter or floor instead of in your box. But, like me, there are many others trapped downtown during the work day who have very few choices when you have to get in and out of somewhere in an hour or less. So, sadly, no matter what the people at Chile Burrito do they know they are still going to have many customers every day. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/2/2010

Went to the chile burrito for the first time a couple of weeks ago with my wife and instantly had a new favorite resturant. I am from the southwest and I know a thing or two about a good burrito, and this was honestly the best burrito I have had in 6 years in Tennessee. I returned today for lunch and ordered the exact same thing for the exact same price as the first time only this time they give me a burrito that is the size of a 99 cent burrito from McDonalds. I quietly waited through the line for a second time only to be scoffed at and argued with by the jerk behind the counter who told me, ""Well they must not have charged you the right price last time cause that""s all you get for the price you paid! I can""t give it away!"" (he's the one who rang up order last time) to which I replied, ""No one asked you to, but that's ok, I just won't come here anymore."" Then he just scoffed and said, ""Whatever."" I ended up leaving hungry after paying $20 for two burritos and two cokes. This guy doesn't understand that the only reason he didn't get his ass kicked was because I didn't want to go to jail and I didn't want to embarrass my wife in front of some of her co-workers that happened to be there at the time. This guy is a joke. Pros: none now Cons: horrible service more

Watch your pennies.... 3/25/2010

I've had two experiences with Chile Burrito...first one the guy behind the register says ""Would you like chips and salsa with that?"" Being new to their eatery, I replied ""Sure"". He failed to mention that they charge a nominal fee for their chips and salsa.\r \r 2nd incident is: I ordered a medium burrito with meat. The total was $6.54. I gave the same guy (as the previous incident) $6.75. He took his time with getting me my change and when he handed it to me, he gave me only 1 penny back. I looked at him and he had a look on his face like ""oops, I was caught"". I failed to say anything because there was a long line behind me but mentioned it to my co-worker as we walked back to work. So, I when I returned to work I called Chile Burrito and this same guy answered the phone and told me that a medium burrito with meat is $6.54 with tax. He totally ripped me off and knew he was doing it. He also doesn't offer you a, perhaps...I'm not the only victim in his little scam.\r \r I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Cons: SCAMMERS: They take your money without you knowing... more

Many different choices on the menu 11/30/2009

You could eat here everyday and not get bored of the selections. Nachos piled high with your favorite fixings, quesadillas, salads, burritos, fish tacos. I love everything on the menu. The nachos are my fav., they use a rich white queso cheese that is absolutely delicious. Everything is ""build your own"", so you get exactly what you want on your order. I am a lifetime fan! Pros: Just about everything Cons: Not open on the weekends more

Best fish tacos by far! 7/17/2009

The fish tacos at Chile Burrito are just the best! I drive out of my way to get them. Be careful going here around lunch time, as the line is often out the door. The service is fast and friendly, they have my order prepared for me before I even get to the counter (I eat here about 3 times per week). Pros: Fish tacos more

Great food 7/12/2009

By far the best mexican I've had in Nashville. Be prepared to get there early, the line can be out the door during lunch and on Sundays after church. Fish taco's are awesome. Pros: Best mexican in town by far Cons: Very busy, get there early more

The Food is Amazing! 5/27/2009

Wow! This is the best mexican food in town. The food is fresh and love your house dressing. My children love the big burritos. The wall decore is unique. Our family is addicted. It is our weekly stop. Thanks for a great restaurant in town. Pros: Reasonable and Delicous Food! Cons: None! more

Chile Burrito dominates all Mexican Restaurants in the Nashv 4/21/2009

Chile Burrito dominates all Mexican Restaurants in the Nashville area. The fish tacos are my fav., I would love to know how they make the sauce they put on them. I have many friends that drive clear across town to get fish tacos from Chile Burrito. Great employees, great atmosphere and awesome food. Pros: Great locations, great food Cons: To far from my house more

Way better than the competition 3/25/2009

I have been going to the Brentwood location religiously since it opened. My son has a wheat allergy and the staff is always more than willing to clean the grill for me, since they serve wheat tortillas. I am a big fan of the Baja chicken enchilada soup and salad. There is a line out the door on Sunday after church, but it moves swiftly. Pros: Best or the best Cons: Nothing more

Yummy chicken nachos!! 3/25/2009

I absolutly love this place. I usually get the grilled chicken nachos (get the cheese on the side if you take it to go). I also love the tortas, (its a mexican sandwitch)with the shredded chicken, a little black beans, corn salsa, lettuce and pico and sour cream. Pros: Best nachos in town Cons: not open on weekends:( more

Best mexican, hands down 11/25/2008

Chile Burrito is BY FAR the best mexican place in Nashville. I frequent the Chile Burrito in Brentwood. The Brentwood store is owned by the same people who own the downtown store. Great place and great people working here. This is the only mexican place I recommend to my friends. Pros: Everything Cons: Nada more

WOW!!! 6/5/2008

I'm new to town and a co-worker of mine immediately recommended The Chile Burrito Co. It was so enthusiastic I was a little hesitant and thought they must be getting kickbacks. I soon found out a. they were absolutely right, and b. they weren't getting kickbacks; its that good. \r \r I am a huge fan of the steak burrito and taco salad. Everything I have eaten there has been tasty, fresh, and hot. The steak burrito actually tastes like a steak burrito. I have been place after place that you get an average quick meal. So when i tasted the steak burrito that tasted like i grilled the steak myself - which is saying something - I didn't know what to say. \r \r I would highly recommend The Chile burrito company. Thanks!!! Pros: STEAK BURRITO Cons: too much of my budget going to gas and not Chile Burrito! more

Why eat here with so many good options? 5/19/2008

The food is over-rated and I am surprised by all the reviews - so take this as 1 opinion. I just don't think this food compares with Baja Burrito, Moe's, Las Palmas or La Hacienda. The Chicken is dry, the cheese isn't even mexican cheese - it's a piece of meunster, seriously on a burrito? I will not be trying it again and the service was sub par at best. Pros: Good locations Cons: Food, Service more

Insane portions 5/12/2008

I have been eating at The Chile Burrito since it opened and I worked just across the street at the L&C tower downtown. Since then I've moved on and I now work down at the Nashville City Center off of Union. Anyways, I still make the walk to Chile Burrito because of two reasons: Fish Tacos and the Nachos. The portions are nearly at insane levels for the nachos, so don't eat lunch there and expect to have anything for dinner. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fish tacos. They are simply amazing. They take great care to make it well - the ingredients are all very fresh and well worth the cost. For a fast-food Mexican place, it really is hard to beat. \r Pros: Fish tacos and nachos! Cons: Nothing more

Best Taco Salad 5/12/2008

Damn if this isn't one of the best lunch spots downtown! I started going as soon as they opened and ate there at least once a week while working downtown. Huge lunches under $10, fresh made right before your eyes. I have always received exceedingly friendly service from the fellows who make the food. The taco salad (with avocado added), and their chile vinaigrette dressing is my favorite thing to have. Largest size of burrito is bigger than your head and will feed you for two days. Fish tacos are great too. The line is often out the door but always moves quickly! Pros: Great Place! Cons: Parking more

Steak Salad, Yumm!! 5/7/2008

I am salivating just thinking about this place. They have, hands down, the best steak salad I have ever had (well, you order the salad and then you pick all your fixin's) I love their chipotle ranch dressing, I love the tortilla strips on top of the salad, I love how their steak tastes, I love their black beans, I love the cucumber, omg, I love it all...\r \r Like Joe's comment on their nachos, I always walk away stuffed. For a less ravenous person than me, a salad could probably go for two meals. Just be prepared for a line out the door if you go exactly at lunchtime. Plus you may or may not be able to find a seat so be prepared to take it to-go Pros: Everything Cons: Long line more

The Best of the Best 3/7/2008

This place is beyond fantastic. When i worked downtown I ate there at least once a week and visited the one in Brentwood on the weekends. For the downtown location I would avoid going at around 12:15. 11 is good, one is good; around 12 the line is out the door. They move the orders through really quick but finding seating is difficult. Definitely try the nachos and add a little cilantro. Their fruit tea is AMAZING! It definitely beats the fruit tea at Baja Burrito, Calypso, etc. The queso is pretty tasty too! Pros: Everything more

Burritos are good, but horrible customer service. 2/29/2008

I've had 3 bad experiences with this place, but always went back b/c the burritos were good. I will now not go back there ever again. \r \r 1. I went to Chile Burrito for lunch, and they gave me the wrong order (to go). The only way they remedied the situation was by me having to walk all the way back to Chile Burrito, and they gave me my correct meal (cold).\r \r 2. I went to Chile Burrito 30 min before they were to close, and they wouldn't let me order anything but chips and queso.\r \r 3. They charged me twice and would only give me a refund if I came back down there and ordered the same exact thing I had previously ordered.\r \r I will NEVER eat there again. more

To die for Mexican!! 2/22/2008

The food here is awsome. I usually get a steak burrito with chips and a side of queso. If you have not tried it yet, I definatly recommend it!! Pros: Yummy!! Cons: Humm?? more

Best Mexican food in the Nashville area! 6/29/2007

I go to this place quite frequently. I have also taken several clients here for lunch and they love it as much as I do! Try the chicken nachos. The queso is incredible! more
