My daughter went for one year, I pulled her out because my Mom witnessed her teacher throw a pacifier at her while she was crying. The teacher LaShawnda adamently denied this although another teacher witnessed the incident. The director Stacy did nothing about it and neither has her boss. My daughter is only 20 months old and apparently this is appropriate behavior for the teachers as nothing was don't to this teacher. I immediately pulled her out and we have not returned. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/26/2012

This place went from great to garbage practically overnight. Kimberly was very in tune with the kids and had a top-notch staff. In an entire school year, our son only ever had one bad day. This included staying full-time during Christmas and Spring Break. However, as of June 2012, there is a new director and the staff has almost completely turned over. There are problems with my child just about everyday now. They've even openly admitted that its their fault because they didn't follow preset procedures and processes to deal with a child with a disability. The new director and staff obviously don't care and don't want to deal with a person with a disability. They did everything they could to make sure that he would get upset and get kicked out of the daycare. more

Great Program 3/12/2011

This program is wonderful. Both of my children loved their experiences here for right at 2 years. (My children are now 3 and 8.) As a mother it is really hard to determine who you can trust with your children. My children ask to go to school each day, especially my 8 yr old in the summer.) It is so heart warming to see my children happy and enjoying themselves, that allows me to go to work without worring about them. While this is the most important thing to me (personally) my children really benefit from the school, especially my 3 year old. She can write her name, copy any word sees and count to 100, far surpassing other chidren her age in the public. I love that they ""grow"" my whole child, cognitive, social, physical, the works. more

Childrens Courtyard has made amazing changes 2/9/2011

This private preschool is really great. our children have been attending for a couple of years now and this past year has been amazing. Our son has learned to sign many words like thank you, more, stop and potty and he is only 2! our daughter loves Ms. Mary in her 4 year old classroom and brings home projects every day. they do this great opening activity called ""circle time"" and every child has a special job for the day like weather man, door holder, line leader...the kids really feel a sense of responsibility. I just know she will be ready for kindergarten after all the ready, counting, journal writing she does! more

Leander Children's Courtyard is much Better !/A night and day difference ! 9/20/2010

So sad indeed ! I have the opposite experience with the Children's courtyard in Leander. Hopefully the forward thinking program manager there will remain so that the quality can remain as their program builds. I'm so glad it's not all about numbers at the one in Leandr. Before I enrolled my kids I spent 30 min w/ the teachers interacting witht them and the children and getting a feel for the dynamics it was important to me that the teacher's were happy and had been in place for a while. more

Teachers are treated so badly here.. and every CCY as far as I can tell 6/20/2008

This place is merely a glorified babysitting job, it has a lot of glitz and glamour such as computers in the room and offers wonderful other curricular activities via Stretch and Grow, or Gigglebytes not from CCY themselves. I worked here for over 2 years (3 years ago) and all I can say is lies, violations, and sorry pay for teachers some who truly deserve it. Half the time they don't train a teacher on how to use the DLM curriculum they so fondly love to exploit to try to GET you in, most of the time the teachers are under the age of 21 and have never worked with children, the ratio they tell parents is a flat out lie most of the time we are at the max not to mention putting 24-27 children in a room not counting the 30-35 odd children in the after school room which is usually mayhem during the summer. All that CCY is concerned with is putting money in their pockets and paying the teachers maybe $8.00/HR and that's not counting the ""children"" under the age of 21 we are talking respectable teachers in their late 20's to early 50's. There is a constant turn over ,while I was there I know of at least 28 teachers I saw come and go. The only thing the old director was good at was working half days (the rest of the days she wasn't feeling well), and covering up lies. It's so sad in this day and age that a big corporation like CCY can't ""afford"" to help their teachers out by paying more and finding some better way for them to afford insurance for themselves. It's sad when a teacher can watch someone else's child but can't afford for their own. And the NAYCE thing you know the banner they have on their building is a joke.. the staff who work their behinds off to get that are no longer there from the director, assistant director to the staff their is 3 people there who was there when we received that .. 3 out of something like 25. I feel for these teachers because I use to be one of them. Good luck guys there is life outside the CCY, I'm living proof. Pros: Teachers who I know who are still there are wonderful!!!! Cons: Lies, Pay is belowwhat a teachers salary should be, HIGH TURNOVER!!! more
