First NY pizza I've had in the South 1/13/2012

Coming from the Northeast, where every pizza restaurant is NY style pizza, I've had my share of good pizza's. After a year here in Raleigh, I stumbled upon Amore with a friend and cannot tell you how happy I am. I've easily paid double back home for pizza this good, and try to eat here for lunch at least once a week. They have a good selection, that seems to change up a bit now and then. So far I've tried the regular cheese, pepperoni, and that slice with the ricotta and tomato which I can never remember its name. Definitely a good choice. Even if you only eat there once, it'll give any native southerner a good idea of what REAL NY pizza tastes like. more

Fabulous PIzza 11/3/2011

I eat here 2-3 times every week. I honestly cannot understand why anybody in the NCSU campus area would get pizza anywhere else-- this place is head, shoulders, and torso above other options. I'm lucky in that I work across the street, but even if I was not nearby, this pizza is worth seeking out. Classic NY style pizza made with fresh, tasty, ingredients. I cannot speak for any of the foods besides pizza, but my lunch companions are fans of many of the other menu options as well. Lastly, the service is very able and very friendly. more

Pizza Done Right!! 3/9/2011

This place is awesome...no two ways to say it! Great service, friendly people, great selection, clean place, every slice good to the last bite!! Prices are a little high, but no more so than any other place that sells pizza by the slice. I usually make it a point to stop by once every other week for lunch, a break from my usual daily left-overs lunch, which I am not knocking, because they are good, I am cost conscious and do not get a real long lunch time... So, if you want pizza done right, do your taste buds a big favor/treat, go see these folks!!! more

THE BEST NY-style pizza in the Triangle! 10/23/2009

There is no comparison between Amores and other pizza places in town! Perfect crust, the freshest ingredients, and friendly, fast service--even with many of their dishes being made-to-order. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate the fact that they will make a fresh pie at lunch if they are low on veggie selections. (Roma Spinach is too good for words!) The calzones and garlic knots are AMAZING, and the bar selection is great. When working, I will take clients here and they are always impressed--I especially love taking NYers, because they say its the best they've ever had outside of the city. They've even added an upstairs lounge for private parties or VIPs at special events--it has hip, modern decor with a TV, cool lighting and lots of seating. Amores is simply so much more than just your college pizza joint. TRY IT TODAY! Pros: BEST pizza, calzones, service Cons: ZERO more

I've been reviewing restaurants for 28 years and... 10/7/2009

I've been reviewing restaurants for 28 years. I'm retired now but still find it hard not to speak my mind so now I do it for free! I gave Amores 5 stars. If it were in NYC I would have given it 4 based on competition being so strong that a 5 in NYC is unheard of. To start the crust was light and fluffy but thin and crisp which I have had the trouble of finding in the triangle. The sauce not to sweet but not bitter. Being in the industry for sooo long I could pick up on some of the products Amores uses and it was nothing but the best. I had a slice of cheese..which is always the way to go when first trying a new Pizzeria and the cheese was full of flavor not like a cheap processed cheese made up of mostly fillers which I have found at a majority of the pizzerias in Raleigh. Then I had a slice of Roma Spinach which was new to me but made me want to go for a third (which I didn't because my stomach would have exploded). The size of the slices where that of what i'm used to in Brooklyn. I tried the Pizza around the corner at I love NY pizza and i'll tell you NY would hate that pizza. To be far I tried in twice and am giving it one final shot before I make my offical review but the crust tasted like stale bread, the cheese was flavorless and the sauce tasted like nothing but garlic powder and oregano. Being the critic I am I have to try things for myself before I make an opinion so I ask you to do the same. That's Amore is the hidden gem of the Raleigh Pizza industry! Pros: Makes it hard to eat pizza anywhere else in Raleigh Cons: Hidden location...needs better visual from Hillsborough more

The Best Pizza in Town 3/20/2009

Today I had Pepperoni Pizza and it was great. The service was fast I even left a tip. The staff was friendly and the resturant was relaxing. It was my first but not last time visiting Amore. Do not look any were else this is the place to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: Food and Service more

Best Food, Great Ambiance, New Renovations MUST SEE, MUST EAT!!!!!!!! 3/11/2008

This is a seriously authentic family owned Pizzaria. Also having some of the best deserts I've ever seen Not to mention the sandwiches/pastas are unbelievable!!! I so highly recommend this place that I drive the 20 min to Raleigh from Apex just for the food. Just when you thought that It could get no better Amore has done extensive renovations to created a new ambiance that goes above and beyond your typical pizza place. Adding a bar and a second floor this is truly the place to take a first date or just unwind with the girls or guys. You feel welcome from the moment you step in the door!!! Prices are very affordable, there are so many awesome things to say about his place, but don't take it from me PLEASE try it yourself!! You'll be so glad you did ---DJ ALLWAYZ Pros: Ambiance, Food, Prices, Service, Great Family Owned Feel Cons: No Cons This is the Place !!!!!!! more

Horrible Hangout, bad service 3/8/2008

Amore's pizzeria is a horrible place to hang out. The service is bad, the pizza tastes disgusting, and it's way over priced. Do not go to this place if possible. There are plenty of other places to hangout on Hillsborough that are a much better place to chill. Pros: It's on Hillsborough and there's other places to go Cons: TOO MANY TO LIST more

Reformed Customer 10/31/2007

I owe Amore's an apology. The first time I went there I thought the pizza was good but overpriced and complained rather loudly about it. Pros: So so good. more
