Dangerous!!! Deadly for known allergens!!! 7/31/2009

Wandered in one day to eat and spent the evening in the Emergency room! Peanut allergic folks Beware!!!! You can not avoid the nut allergy's here, they serve nuts by the buckets, allow to be thrown on the floor. I imagine by the time the nut oils are smeared around by the customers and wait staff it is most likely even on the bathroom knobs, menus, chair backs, plates and eating utensils. I never made it through ordering and could barely make it to my vehicle before my throat started to close up. If you want to discover just how sensitive a nut allergy you or one of your children might have this place would be equal to visiting a nut factory! Shame too.... I had heard they had really good food, to bad they must really hate nut sensitive people bad enough to want to keep us away. i wish they would loose the nuts, bring in a cleaning crew and reopen, I would happily be there in line. Cons: Deadly for known allergens!!! more

Very good food at a great price! 12/13/2008

I love this place. The food is terrific. The only complaint that I have is that it can be quite a wait even if you do a ""call ahead"". Also, if you have a family member in a wheelchair the wait is even longer due to the lack of accessible spots available. They do not offer reservations, only call a heads so it can be very difficult if you are celebrating a special event and have a lot of people in your party. Oh, and they don't do call a heads for parties larger than 9. Pros: Good food at great prices Cons: Wheelchair accessability is limited. Don't do reservations. more

Ribs & Ribeyes! 1/20/2007

When I am entertaining out of town guests and they want a great steak...I don't bother with Ruth's or Morton's...I head straight to the Roadhouse! I don't even bother with a menu, I always order the Ribs & RibEye plate. The rib meat simply slides off the bone, the steak is always cooked the way you order it, and have never, ever had to use any kind of steak sauce. If you have to use a steak sauce on a steak, I feel it wasn't good enough. Trust me...best value for the buck, or simply the best steak....go to Texas Roadhouse. more

Awesome Steaks and Ribs! 6/18/2006

I went to the Texas Road House for the first time today. I started with their happy hour wings and (melon) margarita. I was pleasantly surprised by the wings. It's a very nice change to get wings that aren't so smothered in sauce you can't tell which meat you're eating. The mild wings were tasty, hot and I got quite a few of them. The margarita I wouldn't order again. It tasted like the kind you get from a machine, and wasn't very good. I didn't realize I'd get the blended margarita. But for $2 bucks, it's not too bad a drink (regular HH margaritas were $1.50).\r \r Then I ordered the Rib Eye & Rib combo plate, with the loaded 'tater and fresh veggies. The Rib Eye was a fantastic cut, cooked perfectly. It was a tiny bit salty for me but by far, exceptional. The ribs were tasty and fell off the bone when I tried to eat them. They were very tender and flavorful. The veggies were not over cooked at all! Now there's something you don't see every day.\r \r For the bucks, you get a LOT of food. I had a few bites of my steak, 1/2 the ribs and less than 1/2 of the wings. I took the rest home. The service was excellent. The wait staff, when they walked by my table they took empty plates and glasses. I didn't have to wait for my waiter. \r \r The manager introduced himself when he found that I was a first timer. He said to let him know if I had any problems or special requests and gave me a card for a free munchie next time I went. For all the food I got I paid $24 bucks. Oh - plus lots of bread with cinnimon butter.\r \r Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant. Exceptional food, great wait staff and timely service (I went before 5:00 pm on a Monday). I will absolutely be back to the Texas Road House, probably on a regular basis.\r \r Pros: Tender ribs and steak more

That's Texas All right 4/27/2006

Before anything, I must say that the bread rolls are absolutely amazing. They're moist and warm and soft. They even come with cinnamon butter. The rest of the meal is almost as good as the rolls. If you're looking for the country taste, this restaurant will indulge your senses--and not just your tastebuds. The atmosphere of the restaurant looks and feels like the country. Even with scatterings of peanut shells on the floor enhance the atmosphere, bringing a barn-like feel to the restaurant. Pros: Rolls Cons: Very filling more

Number 1 Hands down! I'm Addicted! 11/28/2005

Floridians, New Yorkers, Puerto Ricans have been my guests while dineing at Texas Roadhouse and it has always been a HUGE hit. The Excitement, The FOOD, the service, the whole dineing experience has always been A+ ,and have converted my Friends and Family into True Texan Cowboys as soon as they walk through those doors. The Delicious dry roasted peanuts, the warm fresh bread with the cinnamon butter are the best starters. The prices and the quality are like no other restaurant that i've been to. My guests have always asked to return, the night before they leave to their ""Texas Roadhouse-less"" States haha. It is a very addicting restaurant!! AND... i believe they should expand this franchise, and satisfy their #1 fans in other states-- YEEEE HAwWW!! :) Pros: Peanut Shells can, be thrown on the, FLOOR! haha *FUn* more

YeeeeHAWWW!!! 2/29/2004

Texas Roadhouse has some darned good food. Even the Road Kill was excellent..LOL!! Really...the chopped steak is smothered in onions, mushrooms, and cheese, and it is EXCELLENT! My next favorite thing is the french fries with the works. So yummy covered with cheese, real bacon bits, and green onions. I always ask for a little ranch for dipping on the side, and WOW-WEE is it that yummy. The portions are huge, the service is friendly, the place is comfy, and the PRICE IS RIGHT! What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, the peanuts are a good ""remember-me"" thing about the place, and those hot slightly sweet rolls with the blissfull honey butter...lip smackin' good. Pros: FOOD IS WONDERFUL, basically everything more

Amazing find 5/27/2003

We came to visit our daughter and son-in-law a few months ago...they wanted to take us out for a good time and some good food...we were game...The Texas Roadhouse was the BEST place we'd eaten in a long time....BBQ was great, steaks to die for!!! Actually cooked the way we wanted! Drinks were excellent...the best Bloody Mary in a long time. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful....In the east that's a 10! I tried to find out how to get a franchise to the East Coast so Yankees could see what they were missing. Pros: Ambiance, Waitstaff, down home Cons: Wait more

Roadhouse rules! 11/8/2002

We've been to the Texas Roadhouse at least twice a month from the time they've opened. They are the most consistent steak house I've ever been to. Their wait staff is excellent and the food is outstanding. Their happy hour specials and prices will have you coming back for more!!! Pros: Inexpensive, Consistency more

Poor Service and Food 10/24/2002

It took over an hour to receive our food. When we did finally get it the meat was tough and overcooked. more

GREAT steaks at a great price 10/23/2002

Have been a few times to the one in Live Oak (1604 and 35) and they do have the BEST sirloin I have had anywhere. I think they have some kind of rub they put on the meat, because it just melts in your mouth!! more

do not go here 10/21/2002

I was not impressed, but very dissappointed with this resturant. I ordered a fliet Migon Medium well and it was served to me bloody. I sent it back and it was given to me shrunken and still bloody. They are slow and have rude waiters. Do not go to this resturant, you will be dissapointed. Tiffany Jenkins Pros: nice enviorment, nice booths, nice location Cons: rude people, bad food, slow service more

Good Food 9/3/2002

Went in with a family of four, and left 60 dollars lighter. That is very resonable. If you have enough room for dessert, highly recommend the ""mile high brownie"". Altough it comes with four spoons. Flipping huge. The service staff is very efficient, going out of their way to please. We went there friday, and recommend getting there before 0600 PM. The wait was only twenty five minutes. Pros: food, service, price more

FRESH MEAT! 8/11/2002

What a fun place! The ambience here is all TEXAS ! I love throwing my peanut hulls on the floor ... feels sorta naughty. The steak is fresh, not frozen as is the meat at the Outback though both get their beef from grain-fed Kansas City. The bar is lively and the wait-persons are very friendly. The steak is seasoned a bit heavy so you might want to ask them to tone it down a little. I've enjoyed this restaurant very much. Pros: STEAK, SERVICE, ATMOSPHERE Cons: Lousy Bread, Long Wait on F/S, Honey Butter (yuk) more
